Welp, you know what time it is. Time to add some story behind the artwork I comm'd @nynnyn666 to do!

Blazing Undead (Flare & Orin)

The other fairies know Flare for her spunk and also being something of a hot-head. She has something of a short fuse, and she can be pretty scary when she's angry, so her friends do their best not to catch her ire! Even so, this fire fairy's hot-temper does also make her quite impulsive, which often lands her into trouble. This was especially the case when she first ended up in Gensokyo!

Flare got caught in the middle of a scuffle between a pack of animal-like spirits, and the next thing she knows? She wakes up almost getting scorched alive in a pit of Blazing Fire! And that's how she met the kasha youkai known as Rin Kaenbyou (A.K.A. "Orin"), who was disappointed to see that the fire fairy wasn't actually a corpse (to the disgust and annoyance of Flare).

Most of Flare's friends found her short temper pretty scary, but Orin seems to enjoy getting a rise out of the fire fairy! Having said that, she does also think Flare to be rather meat-headed, and despite her history of putting up with her fellow pet and close companion, Utsuho Reiuji (A.K.A. "Okuu"), Orin seems to find the fairy's impulsive nature rather irritating at times. For Flare's part, she finds Orin's love of corpses to be pretty...off-putting, and she's not afraid to voice such opinions through the many snide remarks she throws at the kasha.

So basically, they're like a manzai duo, but they both think of themselves as the Tsukkomi (straight man) to the other's Boke (wise guy). 

Even so, in spite of their differences, the fire fairy did manage to join forces with the kasha in order to escape the Underworld and find her friend, Lip! (Though she did have to promise to help Orin find a fresh new corpse as compensation...) On the other hand, if Flare ever runs into those beast-like spirits again...there's going to be hell to pay...!

Fresh Sea Maidens (Neris and Wakasahihime)

Neris is known for being a pretty calm and easygoing fairy, which is why the other fairies look to her as a sort of big-sister figure. Because of her nature, winding up in Gensokyo wasn't as upsetting as it would be for most others. Even so, if there was anything she missed back at her home in the world of Popples, it was the sea, which Gensokyo doesn't seem to have. Neris is capable of surviving in bodies of fresh water such as ponds, lakes, and rivers, yes. But it's just not the same without all of her aquatic friends; without them, Neris did feel rather homesick...

Even so, her current priority was to find her best friend, Elias, the water fairy, as well as their soon-to-be-queen! Afterwards she could worry about finding a way back home. Her travels around Gensokyo's waters eventually lead her crossing paths with, not a another sea fairy, but a youkai who looked much like her. A mermaid!

When the timid mermaid, Wakasagihime, first ran into Neris, it was something of a shock for her, as she did not expect to meet what looked like a fellow mermaid so close to Misty Lake. What was even more shocking, however, was for to learn that this "mermaid" was actually a fairy; a sea fairy! Despite the initial shock, not helped by Wakasagihime's timid nature, it didn't take so long for her and the sea fairy to hit things off!

It helped that Neris was a very laidback individual, which likely helped put the timid mermaid at ease, and it certainly didn't hurt that a lot of Wakasagihime's traits seemed to remind the sea fairy of her own best friend. But what seemed to especially helped them get along was that they were able to bond over their mutual interest in singing!

Neris did want to try putting on a performance with Wakasagihime sometime, but she knew she would have to hold off on bringing up such an offer until later. Finding her friends came first! But making a whole new friend was always nice as well. Plus, when she eventually found her, it would be nice to introduce Elias to someone who shared their passion for singing!

Who knows? Maybe Wakasagihime will introduce the sea fairy to her friends as well. And then maybe, just maybe, they'd manage to work up a performance for all of their friends before this is all over.

Eternal Moonlight (Seren and Kaguya)

Lunarians are beings of purity; as such, they have rejected concepts that bring impurity to the Lunar Capital on the Moon. Such concepts would include the concepts of life and nature. Fairies are said to embody such concepts, so the Lunarians are very particular about keeping them away from the Lunar Capital.

This where Seren, the Fairy of the Moon and the eldest fairy in Lip's ensemble, enters our story. She had gotten into a scuffle with the residents of the Lunar Capital, and the next thing she knew, she had found herself at Eientei, the House of Eternity. Despite assisting in nursing her back to help, Seren's pride kept her from expressing her gratitude, notably due to the past connections most of Eientei's crew had with the Lunar Capital. Getting kicked off of the what is essentially her home caused the moon fairy to form a rather low opinion of the Lunarians as a whole.

Nonetheless, after regaining her strength, Seren set out to find the other fairies, and most importantly, her future queen, Lip. Such a task would be much easier if not for the fact that she would have to navigate her way through the maze-like pathways of the Bamboo Forest. However, her wandering eventually lead her into a chance run in with Kaguya Houraisan, the Lunarian Princess of Eientei. She had initially thought the princess to be a hopeless shut-in, so seeing that she had snuck out of the mansion to go for a stroll was quite the surprise for the moon fairy. 

Even with her newfound grudge against the Lunarians, a part of Seren still felt obligated to keep an eye on the Lunatic Princess. Keeping her safe in her escapades only felt fair, since her group did help nurse her back to health. Of course, Kaguya herself knew that protection wasn't necessary in the slightest; even if it was, she figured that an ordinary human would be of more use to her for that than a mere fairy. Even so, she decided to humor the haughty moon fairy. After all, she was always looking for new and interesting experiences to appease the boredom that an eternal life would otherwise bring her; and for Kaguya, Seren seemed quite interesting for a fairy, as she seemed to possess no interest whatsoever in playing pranks, and seemed more focused on her goal of finding this supposed "queen" that she keeps speaking of.

From Kaguya's perspective, the time she would spend with the moon fairy would be only an instant. But could this instantaneous moment that Seren would spend with the immortal princess soften her views of the Lunarians?
