Hi Tumblr! I am writing a Spider-Man AU Stranger Things fic. It’s on Wattpad right now, but I plan to post on AO3 too once I can make an account on there. 

The fic is a loose retelling of the Spider-Verse movies and is centered around the core six kids! It’s byler-heavy but also has lumax and some henderhop.

NEW COKE VS CLASSIC COKE

I noticed that Will drinks classic coca cola at lunch in the first ep. (i can’t provide clips rn but hopefully you remember the scenes i mention). He also drinks it the hospital and drops it after seeming Robin and Vicky. This reminded me of Mike and Lucas’s argument in season 3 about new coke. Mike says new coke is disgusting while Lucas argues that it’s refreshing and “Bigger. Bolder. Better.” (or something like that). Mike fully disagrees and says he likes classic coke.

Soooo im wondering if Will drinking classic coke means anything. I think it could mean a few things:

1. The scenes were only included to be product placement and a joke about new coke (half true)

OR

2. Symbolically,

Mike likes classic coke,

and Will = classic coke,

therefore, Mike likes Will 💙💛 (possible??)

OR

3. Symbolically,

Will before the power reveal = classic coke

and Will after the power reveal = new coke. Bigger. Bolder. Better. 💛 (also possible??)

either way i think it’s cute that Will and Mike like the same things :D
