Like Candy from a Babe!

Hi, guys. This is Scoutchen with some very, very bad news. I’m extremely sorry to say that I’ll be dropping all characters instead of coming back from my hiatus.

To be perfectly clear, I never planned on doing this. I went on hiatus originally in November because I felt my muse was waning and I wanted to try a radically different character from all the ones on FERP to kind of reboot my inspiration for it. So I gave indie rping a shot for the first time, and found I liked it. And playing someone new really did wonders for my inspiration.

I extended my hiatus because getting everything set up took a bit longer than I was expecting, but I always planned on coming back. I was excited for it, and kept on thinking of the things I was going to get into once I returned. I even decided to take a temporary leave on my indie blog so I wouldn’t get distracted, because I knew you guys would always be my biggest priority.

But, of course, sometimes things change, and there’s nothing any of us can do about it. I ultimately decided not to come back because of the newest rule change on hiatuses and the like. I love you guys, and I love RPing more than just about anything, but I also value my freedom as well. It just really felt like FERP is shifting to a more intensive format, which is totally fine! I definitely get why the rule was changed, but it just was no longer the experience right for me.

I want to stress heavily just how truly difficulty this decision was for me to make. I cried a lot. I’m crying right now as I’m writing this. This group has meant the world to me for years, and the memories and friendships I’ve made on here will (hopefully) stay with me forever. I even took  my last remaining week to think about what I wanted to do next -- if I really wanted to get rid of all my muses at once, or if I wanted to hang on to Gaius at least a bit longer to wrap up all the loose threads I was really hoping to get back to.

But in the end, I decided that hard decisions like these are best dealt with like ripping off a bandage. All at once. It’ll be painful for sure, but I feel as though you guys deserve the very best, and I’m not sure if I can give that to you any longer. So that was that. 

I just want to quickly say that if anyone wants to add me on Discord, I’ll be hanging around fairly often to hand out my Tag and whatnot. I also might convert all these blogs into indie rp blogs (though I suspect that’ll take several months because hoo boy am I not feeling emotionally stable enough for that undertaking rn), so I’d advise you to unfollow me after this, but I promise not to delete any threads or posts EVER, because I’m a sentimental old fool.
