This is the continuation of this post, where I've created my own headcanon for Napoleon's style evolution, or at least the one I would follow if I had to do a comic about him.

Here I've added his uniform as a Consul and his uniform for war as an Emperor. You can see much better the smooth flow I intended to create across the designs.

I gave myself quite some liberty especially with the latter, to the point that this is a re-design rather than an interpretation of the original. The belt is kept as a prop and ties even this new look to his previous ones; he has no tricolored sash now, as to subtly say he's now faithful only to himself. This belt is full of work tools, just like a carpenter or a plumber's; it represents how, despite being an Emperor, Napoleon is still hardworking and prone to intervene first-hand on the field.

The leather details like the boots and gloves are heavily emphasized. The main inspiration is Vegeta's armor, which represents the heavy role the Saiyan Prince hides his insecurities behind. I've previously talked about how similar these two characters look to me (not just because they both are short jerks).

The leather elements also serve as a suggestive nod to the BDSM aesthetic; it's meant to suggest how warfare is a transverse way for him to seek gratification and self-affirmation he isn't able to find in his private life.

デュロック（心底無奈）：

「陛下……どうかこれ以上、私に余計な心配をさせないでください🥹💔」

Napoleon's uniform as a French Republican general was remixed with this look from Philippe Plein's RTW SS 2019. Refined and demure as him, as you can see. It is also meant to showcase him as someone who cosplays a rebel role rather than actually being one, because no matter how marginalized or disgraced, he'll always aim to be legitimized by the main system.

Thérèse Tallien's outfit is based on this Roberto Cavalli look from FW 2000. This was based on a rumor about her going to theatre wearing a tiger skin one night during the Thermidor fever, so I picked the king of animal prints.

Josephine, who was still named Rose in the scene (this is her very first appearance in the comic) is dressed as a literal rose for a flower themed party who should celebrate the luscious rebirth promised by Thermidorians. She represents and enbodies the full ambiguity of rose's symbolism though; she's a product of beauty and passion, but also of the deep pain brought by them. Hence the thorns around her neck and waist. Also the skirt made of rose petals is inspired by another real rumour about her having a dress fully made of rose petals (probably it comes from Laure Junot's pen though).

I've also made her wear a version of the Dior Palladium dress designed by Gianfranco Ferré. It's the same worn by Sailor Moon as Princess Serenity and I had that in mind when I chose that. She appears in this in a scene where Napoleon ponders about her past and present: she's coupled with her humble past self to showcase a great contrast. Just like Usagi, just like the Moon itself, Joséphine presents as a very ambiguous character, with so much hidden.

Barras appears wearing this in the same scene where Joséphine wears the Rosepetals dress. He's not a flower but a butterfly, as he's the most prominent figure in the public scene, so he sucks nectar from all the flowers. If it was Napoleon, he would have been a bee of course🐝

Hoche's uniform is still rooted in his original design, but I've added a stellar theme which would have conveyed the idea of him being a star. They also may unconsciously remind you of Captain America. He's introduced in this panel as the man of the moment and a national hero, so he's meant to intimidate, even in a ✨️sparkly✨️ way.
