"Probably not, it just wasn't me that said anything."

"A-are you sure you wouldn't prefer someone else?"

If we hadn’t met here, odds are we never would have. Somehow, I doubt we ran with the same crowds. 

"That's very true. But this is still the least favored place." She offered the hunter a small smile.

"There is every shame in it for a real witch." Melrose pursed her lips, “But now that I say it, I can see your point.” It had been a while since Melrose’d allowed herself to be in the presence of a witch slave. Their blood called to the hunger nestled deep in her belly, but they had no way to protect themselves against it. She’d already had to pay for two witches in as many months and was loathed to drain her pockets further. But there was no harm in speaking to one was there?

She nodded her head. Perhaps her real father would have freaked out to hear her say such words, but her father, the man she knew, the man who raised her--- he'd be happy. He didn't want that for her. Eden had been meant to help her. How wrong they were.

[Her wry smile grows gradually until it develops into a small laugh] I’m fucking with you. Seriously, I gave up on being sensitive a long time ago. I’ve been judged for being born a hunter all my life- I never expect any different. 

"I'm still... sorry..." Her voice was a light whisper. "Oh! So you're brand new. A shame we had to meet here." She was pretty, outspoken... sort of reminded her of an old friend.

The witch watched him for a moment before turning her head.

"I'm sorry if I annoyed you."

"I'm sorry, Sir. What is it you want to know?

Maybe I’m just not hip enough anymore. Too old for the new, hip slang.

Fiamma laughed, softly shaking her head, "I think you can pass on that one. It's stupid. Sort of like... 'YOLO', you know?"

Why didn’t they just say that?

"I don't really know. One is just as bad as the other; in sounding and meaning."

Sometimes I wonder...

"I'd say to ask someone... but that probably wouldn't be very smart." She smiled, looking to her friend outside the cell.
