Here’s the photo of us in the Roomette!  It was small but definitely comfortable and private. No bathroom in here, so you have to go down the hall. There are two beds: one above and one below (the seats convert together). The ONLY money you really need is for gratuities for the Dining Car and your Cabin Steward. Otherwise, coffee, tea, milk, and soft drinks are all included. Alcohol is extra (of course).

#Amtrak Train Ride from Los Angeles to Chicago for Spring Break 2018. We had an amazing time - our price for the Roomette included all our meals for the 48 hour trip.  We had time to talk, play games, read, enjoy some quiet time watching movies and listening to music.  No stressful airports or driving.  The train gently rocked us to sleep each night. I highly recommend a train trip if you haven’t taken one before!
