luna’s mother had called her princess from the moment she could understand words, a title that most parents bestowed upon their daughters out of a lingering childhood love for fairy tales and shimmering gowns. most mothers saw their daughters as princesses because they remembered the magic of plastic crowns and the clicking of oversized heels on hardwood floors, projecting those whimsical dreams onto the little girls in their lives.
for luna, however, the title carried a weight far beyond the aesthetics of lace or the sparkle of a tiara.
her mother recognized a fierce, iron-clad determination in her daughter that mirrored the strength of a sovereign ruling her own destiny. the princess label was a tribute to a girl who refused to be a bystander in her own life, a child who viewed every obstacle as a wall meant to be climbed.
her mother watched with a mixture of pride and awe as luna systematically conquered every dream she ever voiced.
she remembered the grueling years of ballet, the way luna would return home with bleeding toes and trembling calves, yet she never once asked to stop. the girl had spent hours in front of the mirror, refining the arc of her foot and the poise of her spine until she moved with a grace that seemed to defy gravity. that same relentless drive propelled her into the chaotic world of the music industry. the transition to becoming an idol required a different kind of endurance, involving sleepless nights in mirrored studios and the crushing pressure of public expectation.
luna handled it with a quiet intensity, carving out her place as the fourteenth member and only girl in a male dominated group, transforming from a trainee into a global phenomenon. even the acquisition of her dream home felt like a royal conquest, a testament to her hard work and the maturity she had cultivated while the rest of the world only saw the polished image of a pop star.
among these triumphs, the most cherished achievement was the discovery of her prince charming.
luna had spoken of jeonghan to her mother in a constant stream of consciousness since they were teenagers sharing the suffocating air of a cramped green training room. in those early years, the room smelled of old gym mats and desperation, a place where young hopefuls pushed their bodies to the limit for a chance at stardom. it was there that jeonghan had entered her life, not as a romantic interest, but as a lifeline.
he became her first true best friend, the only person who could read the fatigue in her eyes when she tried to hide it from the instructors.
“you are pushing too hard again, nana-ya," jeonghan had whispered during one of their very few shared breaks, sliding a bottle of water toward her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “if you collapse, i am not carrying you back to the dorms, although i might take a picture of you first for the archives so that i can blackmail you in the future.”
luna had let out a genuine laugh, the kind that bubbled up from her chest and broke the tension of their rigorous schedule. “you are so annoying, han. just drink your water and stop worrying about me. i’m fine.”
over the years, the friendship deepened into a sanctuary.
luna told her mother everything about how jeonghan became her primary support system, the one who defended her against the skepticism of others and the one who knew exactly how to make her smile when the weight of her career felt unbearable. he took care of her in small, silent ways, like leaving her favorite snacks in her bag or staying up late to help her memorize song lyrics for an evaluation.
as she grew older, the lines between friendship and love blurred, and luna found herself falling for him with a dizzying intensity.
“mom, he just knows,” luna had confessed one evening, leaning back against the sofa with a dreamy expression. “i don't even have to say i'm stressed, and he's already there with a joke or a hand on my shoulder. i think i am actually in trouble this time.”
her mother had smiled, knowing the trajectory of their bond. she had heard about every high and low, including the harrowing year they spent in a tense battle of silence. after a night fueled by too much alcohol, luna had let her guard down and confessed her feelings to jeonghan, only to be met with a rejection born of fear and uncertainty. the fallout had been devastating, leading to a year of ignoring each other in the hallways of their shared life, a cold war that left both of them aching.
yet, luna’s mother had seen the way jeonghan looked at her daughter even when they weren't speaking, the longing in his gaze that betrayed his words. when they finally made up and entered a relationship, it felt less like a new beginning and more like a homecoming.
the secret nature of their romance added a layer of electricity to their bond, and for five years they navigated the complexities of secretly dating in the spotlight.
her mother witnessed the evolution of their love, seeing how jeonghan cherished luna as if she were the most precious thing in existence.
he didn't just love her; he guarded her.
when the couple finally decided to finally take the next step, they jumped on a video call with luna's parents, their faces glowing with excitement. luna had thrust her hand toward the camera, showcasing a massive diamond rock that caught the light and sent prismatic flashes across the screen.
“look, mommy! he actually did it!” luna screamed, her voice cracking with emotion while jeonghan beamed beside her, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist.
her parents had broken into tears of happiness, the sight of the ring confirming a certainty they had held for years.
jeonghan had asked for her hand long before the formal proposal happened, and they had simply been waiting for him to ask the question they already knew the answer to.
however, the timing of their engagement brought its own set of challenges. the mandatory military service loomed over them, a requirement that forced them to put their wedding plans on hold for over a year.
i can wait a lifetime for him, but a year and a half feels like a century, luna thought as she watched him depart for his service.
she remained patient, supporting him through the distance and the discipline of the duty.
and it didn’t take long before it was finally over.
jeonghan did not waste a single moment once his duties were fulfilled.
the preparations for their wedding began with a frantic, joyful energy. luna understood the logistical nightmare of their profession, knowing that their schedules were a chaotic puzzle of recordings, performances, and public appearances. they had to coordinate not only their own calendars but also those of their families and the other members of the group. it was particularly important to ensure that hoshi, wonwoo, and woozi, who were still actively serving in the military, could find a way to align their schedules for the celebration.
they eventually married in a first ceremony just a month after jeonghan finished his service.
yes… the first ceremony.
it was a beautiful affair in korea, but for luna, it felt slightly incomplete.
while she loved the tradition and the warmth of her home country, she had always found standard wedding ceremonies to be a bit too brief and strict. she had attended enough weddings to know the rhythm of the short, sweet exchanges and the quick receptions, and while they were lovely, she craved something more.
this was where the princess in her truly emerged, the part of her that desired a grand, sweeping romance that felt like it belonged in a cinema.
jeonghan knew this desire better than anyone. on the christmas a year before, he had presented her with a gift that made her breath hitch.
it wasn't jewelry or expensive clothes or another bunny like he did the previous year, but a detailed, comprehensive itinerary for a trip to italy. as she scanned the destinations, her eyes landed on lake como, her absolute dream wedding location.
jeonghan had leaned in, his voice a low, romantic murmur as he proposed to her all over again, promising that he would give her the grand, princess wedding she deserved in the heart of italy.
“our first marriage will be a practice round," jeonghan whispered, kissing her forehead while she clutched the itinerary to her chest. “i want to marry you again in a place that feels as magical as you are, just like you dreamed of it to be. we are going to do this right, jiyeonie-ah. a big, beautiful, over the top celebration where you can be the princess you have always been.”
luna looked up at him, her eyes shimmering with tears of gratitude. he really does see every part of me, she realized, leaning into his embrace. she knew that jeonghan was willing to do anything and everything to make this dream a reality, and the anticipation of their italian voyage became a beacon of light in their busy lives.
and just like promised, the ceremony in korea served as a practice round for the grander celebration planned for italy, but luna and jeonghan refused to let that label diminish the magic of the moment.
they curated every detail with a meticulous eye, ensuring the intimacy of the gathering felt like a sanctuary. only their parents, the other twelve members of seventeen and their families, and a handful of the closest friends they had gathered over the years filled the room. the atmosphere remained hushed and reverent, the kind of silence that only exists when a room is full of people who truly love the couple standing at the center of it all.
luna and jeonghan’s first wedding ceremony was simple yet already grand. everyone present were curious on how bigger the scale could get for the second ceremony.
the scent of white peonies and expensive vanilla orchids clung to the air of the luxury wedding hall, filling the space with a fragrance that felt both timeless and fresh. soft, golden light spilled from crystal chandeliers, casting dancing prismatic reflections across the polished marble floors that mirrored the ivory drapery sweeping from the ceiling to the ground.
soon, the heavy oak doors groaned softly as they swung open, revealing luna.
she stepped into the hall, and for a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath. she wore a gown of shimmering white tulle and intricate alençon lace that flared from her waist in a voluminous bell, creating a silhouette that belonged in a fairy tale. small, hand-stitched pearls clung to the bodice like morning dew, catching the light with every graceful step she took. her long, dark silky hair cascaded down her back in soft waves, held in place by a delicate diamond tiara that rested against her crown. in her hands, she clutched a bouquet of white lilies, tulips, and baby’s breath, the stems wrapped in a satin ribbon that matched the creaminess of her dress.
jeonghan stood at the end of the aisle, his breath hitching as he watched her approach. he looked sharp in a tailored charcoal suit that hugged his frame perfectly, his neck-length hair swept back with just enough effortless chaos to maintain his signature look.
as luna reached him, he leaned in, his voice a low, melodic vibration that only she could hear. “you’re so beautiful…” he whispered, his eyes shimmering with a mixture of mischief and genuine awe.
luna let out a tiny, shaky laugh, leaning her head closer to his as they took their places. “just wait until you see my other wedding dress," she murmured back, her eyes twinkling.
jeonghan chuckled, a soft sound that vibrated in his chest. “damn… i get to see you walk towards me looking like a pretty angel all over again. i guess i saved a whole county in my previous life.” he replied, winking at her before squeezing her hand.
the ceremony flowed with a quiet, emotional grace. while the officiant spoke of love and commitment, luna and jeonghan remained locked in their own private world, exchanging tiny glances and secret smiles.
they didn't need the grand gestures of a public spectacle because the weight of their history resided in the small touches, like the way jeonghan’s thumb traced circles on the back of her hand or how luna leaned her shoulder against his.
i can't believe we're actually here, luna thought, feeling the warmth of the room and the steady beat of jeonghan's heart through their joined hands. after everything, we finally found our way back to this.
and that’s how jeonghan and luna got married… or more proper… that’s how mr. and mrs. yoon came to be.
the irony of the event was not lost on them.
while the fans and the media spent the last month spiraling into frantic theories about when the wedding would be, luna and jeonghan had already been legally married for four weeks. they had their first ceremony, they had signed the papers in a quiet, private office, laughing at the simplicity of the legal bond compared to the chaos of their public lives.
whenever they scrolled through social media and saw the “wedding countdown” and the “wedding preparation” posts or the desperate theories from the fans, they would lean into each other and giggle like teenagers.
“look at this one, nana-ya, this article says we're waiting for a specific lunar eclipse to tie the knot,” jeonghan said one evening, holding up his phone with a grin.
luna peered over his shoulder, her eyes crinkling. “we should post a photo just enough to keep them guessing for another week,” she suggested, her voice full of playfulness.
“you're a menace, and that is exactly why i love you,” he replied, kissing her temple.
they lived for the teasing, the subtle hints, and the shared secret that bound them closer than any public announcement ever could. yet, despite the joy of their private marriage, the anticipation for the grand ceremony in italy burned brightly in both of them. they wanted the world to see the culmination of their journey, the victory of a love that had survived rejection, scrutiny, the military service, and the suffocating pressure of fame.
when august finally arrived, the heat of the italian summer greeted them with a golden glow. they had traveled to lake como a few days before the rest of the group and their families, desperate for a sliver of time where they weren't “idols” or “korea’s it couple,” but simply luna and jeonghan.
the villa they rented sat perched on a cliff, overlooking the shimmering sapphire waters of the lake, with mountains that looked like painted brushstrokes against the pale blue sky.
their first few days were a blur of chaotic romance and domestic bliss. they spent their mornings wandering through the cobblestone streets of the nearby village, where the air smelled of roasting coffee and blooming lemon trees. jeonghan spent a significant amount of time trying to convince luna to buy every single piece of artisanal jewelry they encountered, while luna spent her time trying to stop him from teasing the local vendors.
“han, seriously. we already have three vases of hand-painted ceramics in the room, we cannot fit a fourth one in our luggage,” luna argued, though she was smiling as she held his arm.
“but look at the swirl on this one, baby, it looks exactly like the way you pout when you're trying to be serious,” he teased as he made up a dumb reason, holding the vase up to her face.
“i do not pout like that. and i am being for real. we can’t get another one. you might as well buy another luggage just for souvenirs,” she countered, leaning into him.
“that’s a great idea! let’s go get at least two more luggages,” jeonghan nodded at the idea, pulling her into a sudden, spinning hug that left her breathless and giggling.
they spent their afternoons lounging by the water, sharing a single bowl of oversized gelato that melted quickly in the august heat. jeonghan would intentionally sneak a bite of luna’s favorite flavor, sparking a playful war that usually ended with both of them covered in sticky cream and laughing until their stomachs ached. they talked about everything and nothing, revisiting the memories from their trainee and rookie years with a sense of peace, acknowledging the pain of their past as the foundation for the strength of their present.
i never thought we would get to this version of us, luna thought at one point, watching the sunlight dance in jeonghan's eyes as he talked about a random story about the cat he saw on the street earlier
the tranquility of their solitude shifted into a vibrant energy a few days later when the rest of the members arrived.
the air at the villa suddenly filled with the booming voices and chaotic energy that only seventeen could bring. for the first time in a long while, the group felt entirely complete.
“finally, the chaos is restored to its rightful place,” hoshi shouted, nearly tackling jeonghan as he stepped off the transport.
“get off me, you're going to ruin my shirt before dinner even starts,” jeonghan joked, though he was grinning ear to ear, hugging hoshi back with a strength that betrayed his excitement.
luna stood back for a moment, her heart swelling as she watched the thirteen men who were her colleagues, her best friends, and her family congregate in one place. she felt a hand slide around her waist, and she didn't have to look to know it was jeonghan.
“jiyeonie~ look at them, they're already acting like they own the villa," jeonghan whined, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“let them be," luna replied, leaning back into his chest.
seungcheol approached them, his expression soft and his eyes shining with a mixture of pride and relief. he pulled both luna and jeonghan into a crushing hug, the kind of embrace that spoke of all the things they didn't need to say out loud.
“it feels right having everyone here, i’m glad the two of you found a date that caters everyone,” seungcheol said, his voice thick with emotion as he stepped back to look at them. “seeing you two like this, and having all fourteen of us together again, it's the only way this wedding could have happened.”
“stop being corny. we were all together at the first ceremony,” jeonghan teased, though he kept his arm firmly around luna.
“i meant here in italy! we’re complete in italy, finally.” seungcheol slapped jeonghan’s arm who was grinning annoyingly at him whilst luna rolled her eyes.
the villa transformed into a hub of activity, with the members filling the halls with laughter and playful arguments. they spent the evening gathered on the wide terrace, the scent of the lake and the cooling evening breeze swirling around them. they shared stories, swam in the pool, drank wine, and planned the mischief they would cause during the grand ceremony.
luna watched them all, her gaze drifting from the boisterous laughter of dokyeom and hoshi to the quiet conversations of the wonwoo and woozi, and she felt a profound sense of belonging.
“you're doing that thing again,” jeonghan remarked, noticing her distant, dreamy expression.
“what thing?”she asked, blinking.
“the thing where you look at us like we're the most precious things in the world, which we are, obviously… mostly me though,” he said with a wink.
luna laughed, shaking her head at his arrogance, but she squeezed his hand tightly. “you're not wrong, and i'm just thinking about how lucky i am that i get to do this with all of you,” she said softly.
jeonghan pulled her closer, his voice dropping to a tender whisper. “you're the lucky one? i'm the one who gets to marry the most graceful, smart, and beautiful woman in the world while my best friends cheer us on. i think i'm the one winning here.”
luna looked up at him, her eyes reflecting the first few stars appearing in the italian sky. “we're both winning then,” she whispered, before pulling him down for a kiss that tasted of summer and the promise of a lifetime together.
the morning of their wedding in lake como, italy began quietly, almost deceptively so.
for luna, that quietness felt strange.
she had been awake for several minutes before she finally opened her eyes, staring at the pale ceiling above her while the early morning light slowly slipped through the curtains of the villa. somewhere outside, the lake was already awake. she could hear the faint movement of water beyond the windows, the occasional sound of birds somewhere in the gardens, and the distant footsteps of staff preparing the property for the day ahead.
everything around her was calm, beautiful, and carefully arranged.
she was getting married.
again.
the thought still made something flutter inside her chest which was strange because she and jeonghan were already married.
they had already stood in front of their families and closest friends in korea for their first ceremony, something small and private that had felt deeply personal because there had been no cameras, no elaborate venue, no international guests, and no expectations beyond the people they loved most witnessing them make the promise.
that day had been theirs in the simplest sense of the word.
today was different.
today was the ceremony they had planned for everyone who had been a part of their lives in different ways, from friends and colleagues to people they had met throughout their years together and the people who had watched their relationship grow from something private into something the entire world knew about.
and somehow, despite already being married, luna’s mother had decided that she was still going to experience the traditional bride routine.
which was how luna had ended up sleeping in a completely different room from her husband.
she turned her head toward the empty space beside her and stared at it for a moment.
the bed was perfectly made on his side because, according to her mother, allowing jeonghan to sleep beside her the night before would somehow ruin the entire wedding experience.
luna had tried arguing and evidently she had failed.
her mother had simply looked at her and said, “you may be married already, but you’re still my daughter, and i’m still allowed to want my daughter to experience the classic wedding traditions you would see in a cliché rom-com.”
so here she was.
a married woman being treated like a bride who had never seen her groom before.
luna smiled to herself as she remembered the discussion from the previous night.
“mom, i’m literally already his wife.”
“i know.”
“he’s literally downstairs.”
“i know.”
“i’ve slept beside him for years.”
“i know.”
“then why can’t i sleep beside him tonight?”
her mother’s answer had been an immediate “because i said so.”
luna had stared at her for several seconds before finally muttering, “you’re enjoying this way too much.”
“very much.” her mom said, nodding.
now, lying alone in the enormous bed, luna could not help but laugh quietly at the memory.
she reached for her phone on the bedside table and resisted the urge to message jeonghan immediately. she knew he would probably already be awake. he was probably being taken care of by his own team, getting dressed and preparing for the ceremony, and she knew him well enough to know that he would absolutely find some way to complain about being separated from her.
she could already imagine the messages.
are you awake?
did you sleep?
your mother kidnapped you.
come downstairs.
jiyeonie.
my moon.
luna smiled at the thought and finally picked up her phone. there were already several messages from him. she opened the conversation and immediately covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing.
the first message had been sent at six thirty in the morning.
good morning, wife.
the next had arrived three minutes later.
apparently i’m supposed to pretend you’re not already my wife today.
then another.
your mother is a very powerful woman… i see where you got it from.
and finally, sent only a few minutes before she woke up.
when will they give you back? come back to meeeeeeeeeee
luna stared at the screen with a smile so soft that her cheeks began to ache before she typed a response.
good morning, husband. i’ll see you soon ;) behave yourself.
his reply came almost immediately.
never.
she laughed quietly, shaking her head before placing her phone back down. “of course,” she murmured to herself. “of course you wouldn’t.”
the door opened not long afterward, and the quiet of the room slowly gave way to the beginning of the morning.
her hair and makeup team arrived first, carrying cases and garment bags and everything they needed to transform the room into a small bridal suite. the atmosphere changed almost instantly. curtains were opened wider to let in the morning light, tables were arranged near the windows, brushes and makeup palettes were carefully placed in front of mirrors, and the room filled with the soft conversations of people who had been preparing for this day almost as carefully as luna had.
luna sat in front of the mirror while her hair stylist began working through her hair.
she watched her reflection gradually change.
there was something almost surreal about sitting there and watching herself become a bride for the second time.
her makeup was kept elegant and soft, emphasizing the features she already had rather than transforming her into someone unfamiliar. her skin was kept luminous, her eyes carefully defined, and her lips were given a soft color that made her look polished without taking away from the rest of her face.
her hair, however, took longer.
every section was carefully handled, curled, pinned, and adjusted until the final style began to take shape. strands were tucked exactly where they needed to be, delicate pieces were left around her face, and eventually the stylist stepped back to inspect everything before making one final adjustment.
luna stared at herself in the mirror and for a moment, she barely recognized the woman looking back at her.
then she smiled.
“you like it?” her stylist asked.
luna’s smile grew. “i love it.”
the dress was waiting nearby. she had seen it before. she had been involved in every fitting, every adjustment, every conversation about the fabric and the silhouette, but seeing it hanging there that morning still made her stomach twist with anticipation.
when the time finally came to put it on, several hands helped her carefully into the gown.
the dress was elegant without feeling excessive, made for a wedding overlooking one of the most beautiful places in the world. the fabric fell gracefully from her body, creating a long, clean silhouette before spreading gently toward the floor. delicate details caught the light whenever she moved, subtle enough to keep the dress timeless while still making it feel unmistakably like hers.
when the final adjustments were finished, luna stood still in front of the mirror, her fingers touched the fabric lightly. she breathed in. then out.
today is really happening. the thought hit her differently this time.
luna wasn’t entirely sure why she was nervous. she has married jeonghan once already, not that long ago. she expected that today would be a walk in the park, but she feels like she could bawl her eyes own all over again just like when he proposed to her.
but underneath all of that was the same simple truth.
at the end of the aisle, jeonghan would be waiting and that was all she needed.
the knock on the door came shortly afterward, prompting luna to turn around seeing her parents stepped inside.
for a few seconds, neither of them said anything.
her father stopped in front of her first while her mother brought one hand to her mouth.
luna immediately knew what was happening. “oh, no,” she whispered, already feeling her eyes sting. “please don’t.”
her mother shook her head, her eyes already filling with tears. “look at you.”
luna laughed nervously. “mom.”
“look at my baby.”
“mom, seriously. don’t start.”
her father smiled, though his eyes were becoming just as wet. “you look beautiful, sweetheart.”
luna looked down for a second, trying desperately to collect herself. “i saw you yesterday,” she said, her voice already beginning to shake. “you both know what i look like.”
“that doesn’t count,” her mother said.
“why doesn’t it count?”
“because today you’re a bride.”
luna let out a small laugh. “again.”
her father laughed softly. “and you’re a beautiful bride again.”
her mother stepped closer and carefully touched luna’s cheek. “we cried the first time. we’re definitely going to cry this time. and if you and jeonghan decide to get married ten more times, we’ll cry all ten times.”
luna laughed through the tears gathering in her eyes. “please don’t give him ideas.”
her father smiled. “too late. he probably already has ideas.”
“he absolutely does.”
her mother wrapped her arms around her carefully, mindful of the dress, and luna hugged her back. and for a moment, she allowed herself to simply stand there between her parents.
luna thought about the first wedding. she thought about how nervous she had been then, how emotional her parents had been, how jeonghan had looked at her as though the rest of the room had disappeared. and now she was here again.
her father held out his arm towards her after a few minutes. “ready?”
luna looked at him, she swallowed the lump in her throat before smiling. “i am.”
he offered his arm properly. “then let’s go get you married.”
luna laughed. “dad, i’m already married.”
“right.” he nodded seriously. “let’s go get you married again.”
the three of them laughed together before they headed down towards the main venue of the wedding. and once the doors leading her to the aisle finally opened, the day truly began.
the venue overlooking lake como looked almost unreal beneath the afternoon light.
the lake stretched beyond the gardens, blue water meeting the mountains in the distance, while the villa and its grounds had been transformed for the occasion. white flowers lined the ceremony space, arranged naturally along the aisle without overwhelming the view. chairs had been placed carefully for the guests, each one facing the lake and the altar beyond it.
friends and family had arrived from different parts of the world.
people luna had known for years sat beside people she had met through her career. the rest of the members of seventeen were scattered among the guests, along with their families, luna’s family, colleagues, longtime friends, and the people who had quietly supported them throughout the years.
there were familiar faces everywhere. people who had seen them fall in love. people who had watched them fight. people who had watched them grow. people who had been there before anyone else knew there was an us to watch.
and then there was luna, standing just beyond the beginning of the aisle with her father beside her. she gripped his arm, her fingers tightened slightly.
“nervous?” he asked quietly.
“a little.” she sighed.
“you’ve done this before.”
“that’s why it’s embarrassing.”
he looked at her with amusement. “why?”
“because i shouldn’t be nervous.”
“you’ve always been nervous around him.”
luna smiled at that because it was true. she was never not nervous around jeonghan. he has a way of doing that to her. no matter how long she has known him, no matter how long they’ve been together, he always gives her the butterflies.
suddenly the music began to play, breaking her out of her thoughts. luna’s breath caught in both nervousness and anticipation.
her father looked at her, a fond expression on his face. “ready?”
she nodded, but before the doors opened, luna closed her eyes and for just a moment, the noise around her faded.
she thought about jeonghan.
she thought about the first time she realized that her best friend was becoming something more. she remembered the years of friendship before either of them had admitted what they wanted. she remembered the stolen glances, the late-night conversations, the ridiculous arguments that somehow always ended with them laughing. she remembered one evening when they had been sitting together eating takeout.
she remembered their first kiss, their first real argument, the first time they said i love you. the first time they had realized that their relationship was bigger than either of them had expected.
she remembered the difficult years too. the pressure that was pushed them away from each other. the rumors that threatened to tear them apart. the moments when they had been exhausted and unsure. and the moments when they had chosen each other anyway.
she remembered their first wedding. the look on his face when he saw her. the way his hand had trembled slightly when he reached for hers. the way he had smiled afterward.
and now she was about to walk toward him again.
then finally, the doors opened.
luna opened her eyes as the music swelled around her while her father began walking her down the aisle. the first few steps felt almost unreal. then as she looked down the aisle she saw that jeonghan was waiting.
and suddenly, every other person disappeared.
he was dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, elegant and understated, with details chosen specifically for him. his hair was styled neatly, his face calm at first glance, but luna knew him too well to miss the way his eyes widened the moment he saw her.
he looked stunned.
completely and genuinely stunned.
jeonghan’s lips parted slightly. his eyes moved over her once before returning immediately to her face.
luna could not stop smiling and neither could he.
she walked toward him slowly, her father’s arm steady beneath her hand.
jeonghan watched every step. he had seen her in countless outfits. he had seen her on stage, backstage, at home in pajamas, half asleep in the morning, dressed for awards shows, dressed for rehearsals, dressed for dates, and dressed for their first wedding. but somehow, seeing her walk toward him like this still made his chest tighten.
that’s my wife. the thought came so naturally that he almost laughed. that’s my wife.
after a few more steps, luna finally reached the end of the aisle. her father turned toward jeonghan and placed luna’s hand into his.
jeonghan immediately closed his fingers around hers, his thumb brushed over her knuckles as he leaned slightly closer. “you’re so unfair,” he whispered, staring at her with a helpless smile. “i know we haven’t even started yet but can i marry you a third time?”
luna laughed softly, her eyes already shining. “you really can’t help yourself, can you?”
“apparently not.” jeonghan winked at her.
the ceremony began and the world around them settled into silence as they stood facing each other. the officiant spoke, but luna barely noticed the words at first. she was too focused on jeonghan. too focused on the way his eyes stayed on hers, the small smile he kept trying and failing to hide. the way his thumb continued moving gently across the back of her hand.
she could see the emotion in his face despite the calm way he carried himself. she knew every little sign. the slight movement of his mouth, the way his eyes softened, the way he took a quiet breath whenever something overwhelmed him.
she knew him better than anyone.
and standing there with him, luna realized that was what made this moment feel so much bigger than a wedding. she wasn’t standing beside a stranger she was promising to spend her life with. she was standing beside the person who had already lived so much of it with her.
jeonghan looked at her and thought about every version of luna he had known.
the girl who had once been his friend. the woman who had become his partner. the person who had made him laugh on days when he did not think he could. the person who had stayed when things became difficult. the person who knew exactly how to irritate him and exactly how to calm him down. the person who could look at him once and know what he was thinking.
his wife. his best friend. his moon.
when it was finally time for their vows, luna’s fingers tightened around his before she took a breath, looking at jeonghan for a few seconds before she began, “hannie,” she said, the smile that appeared on her face made him smile back almost immediately. “when i first met you, i had absolutely no idea that you were going to become this important to me,” she began, her voice already carrying the quiet amusement of someone who knew exactly how ridiculous their story had been. “if someone had told me back then that one day i would be standing here, in front of all these people, trying not to cry while promising to spend the rest of my life with you, i probably would have laughed in their face. actually, i probably would have laughed at you first.”
a few people in the crowd laughed, and jeonghan immediately shook his head, already knowing where this was going.
luna caught his expression and smiled. “and you would have laughed too, because you were always like that. you somehow managed to make me laugh when i was trying to be serious, annoy me when i was trying to be patient, and convince me that whatever ridiculous thing you were doing was somehow my problem.”
jeonghan quietly laughed, lowering his head for a second as luna continued. “we started as friends, and somehow that friendship became years of memories that i still don’t know how to explain without making us sound completely insane. we grew up together, changed together, achieved our dreams together, watched each other become different people, and somehow, through every version of ourselves, we kept finding our way back to each other. there were so many moments when i should have realized what you meant to me sooner, but apparently all i needed were several years of longing and an embarrassing drunk confession.”
the guests laughed again, and jeonghan covered his mouth as he tried not to laugh too loudly.
luna glanced at him with an amused smile before continuing. “you were always there, though. through the exciting days, the exhausting days, the days when everything went perfectly and the days when nothing went according to plan. you became the person i could call without thinking twice, the person i could sit beside without saying anything, and somehow the person who could tell what i was thinking just by looking at me. and somewhere along the way, i stopped wondering what my life would look like and started wondering what our life would look like. i think that was probably when i was already completely gone for you, although i would like to formally state that i was very good at pretending otherwise.”
jeonghan laughed openly at that, and luna laughed with him, briefly shaking her head before looking back into his eyes. “you know what makes this even more embarrassing? you knew. of course you knew. you always knew.”
jeonghan nodded slowly, looking entirely too pleased with himself, which made luna narrow her eyes at him before she finally smiled. “and somehow, after all those years, after all the teasing and arguing and laughing and loving each other through every ridiculous part of growing up together, here we are. apparently, all roads really did lead me back to you.”
“i spent years thinking you were simply the person who knew me best. somewhere along the way, you became the person i wanted beside me for everything. the good days, the ridiculous days, the difficult ones, and all the ordinary days in between. you’ve been my best friend, my favorite person, my biggest headache, and the person i still look for first in every room.”
jeonghan’s eyes began to shine.
luna smiled through her own tears. “i promise to keep choosing you, even when we’re old and annoying and arguing over something completely stupid. i promise to keep laughing with you, growing with you, and finding my way back to you no matter what life puts in front of us. i loved you before i knew what that love would become, and i will keep loving you for every version of us that comes after this.”
jeonghan swallowed, his eyes never leaving hers. when it was his turn, he took a slow breath. “jiyeonie,” he said quietly, “you’ve been part of my life for so long that sometimes i don’t remember what it felt like before you were there. you became my best friend before you became my wife, and somehow you managed to become both without ever stopping being the person i want to tell everything to first.”
luna’s lips trembled into a smile, squeezing his hands as she listened.
jeonghan paused for a moment, looking at luna with the smallest smile before continuing. “i think the funniest part about our story is that i probably knew i was in trouble long before i admitted it. you had this habit of becoming part of everything without even trying. you were there when i wanted someone to talk to, when i wanted someone to annoy, when i had something stupid to say that nobody else would appreciate, and eventually you became the person i wanted beside me even when i had absolutely nothing to say. i don’t think either of us noticed how much we were becoming a pair until everyone around us started noticing first. they would look at us like we were the most obvious people in the world, and somehow we would still stand there pretending we had no idea what they were talking about. looking back, i think we were both just stubborn.”
the guests laughed, and luna immediately nodded in agreement, her smile growing as she listened.
jeonghan caught the reaction and pointed subtly toward her. “see? she’s admitting it now. we have witnesses.”
more laughter moved through the ceremony, and luna covered part of her face with one hand, already embarrassed by him.
“and then there were the years when i learned that loving you also meant accepting that you would never let me have the last word. you would argue with me just because you could, steal things from me just to watch me chase you, pretend you didn’t hear me when you absolutely did, and somehow convince me that whatever trouble we had gotten ourselves into was probably my fault. you still do this, by the way. marriage apparently did nothing to fix you.”
luna laughed, shaking her head as jeonghan smiled innocently at her. “don’t look at me like that,” she mouthed, and he quietly replied, “i haven’t done anything.”
the people closest to them laughed at the exchange, while luna looked at him with the same expression she had probably given him a hundred times over the years.
jeonghan’s smile softened before he continued. “i also learned very quickly that you have an incredible memory, which is unfortunate for me because you remember every embarrassing thing i’ve ever done. every single one. you remember the things i wish you would forget, the things i thought nobody saw, and especially the things you know will make me regret giving you the opportunity to tell the story again. and yet, somehow, you still laugh at my jokes. even the terrible ones. sometimes i think that’s how i knew you really loved me.”
a few guests laughed again, and luna’s eyes narrowed playfully. jeonghan looked completely pleased with himself. “you also made me softer without ever asking me to be. you taught me that there could be a place where i didn’t have to be anything for anyone. i could come home tired, irritated, quiet, ridiculous, or completely exhausted, and you would still look at me like i was the same person you had always chosen. and i hope you know that i noticed every little thing you did for me, even when i didn’t say it enough. the meals you made, the way you waited for me, the way you knew when i needed quiet and when i needed you to talk to me, the way you somehow always made our home feel like somewhere i could finally breathe. you took care of me in ways you probably thought were ordinary, but i never thought they were.” his voice cracked for a moment, and luna’s smile became smaller as her eyes began to shine.
jeonghan noticed immediately, and the corner of his mouth lifted again. “don’t cry yet. we’re not even at the emotional part.”
luna laughed through the tears threatening her eyes, and several people in the audience laughed with her. “i’m serious,” he continued, trying not to laugh himself. “if you start crying, i’m going to start crying, and then we’re both going to look terrible in all these photographs. i spent too much time getting ready for this.” that earned another wave of laughter, and luna shook her head as she reached for his hand more firmly.
jeonghan squeezed it, his thumb brushing slowly across her knuckles before he looked back at her. “but honestly, when i think about everything we’ve been through, i don’t remember one big moment that made me love you. i remember hundreds and thousands of small ones. i remember laughing with you until my stomach hurt. i remember sitting beside you when neither of us felt like talking. i remember looking for you in a crowded room without even realizing i was doing it. i remember the first time i caught myself thinking about you when you weren’t around and realizing that i missed you more than i probably should have. i remember all the times we chose each other before we even had the courage to say that was what we were doing. and now you’re standing here, and somehow you’re still the same girl who could make me laugh when i was trying desperately to keep a straight face. you’re still the person who knows exactly how to push my buttons, exactly how to make me smile, and exactly how to make me feel like i belong somewhere.”
he paused, his eyes remaining on hers as the laughter around them settled into a quieter warmth. luna’s eyes were wet now, but she was smiling, and jeonghan gave her hand another gentle squeeze before continuing.
“you make my life louder, messier, funnier, and somehow better. you’ve seen every version of me, including the ones i wasn’t particularly proud of, and you stayed. i promise i’ll keep giving you reasons to stay. i’ll keep making you laugh, i’ll keep annoying you until we’re a hundred, and i’ll keep choosing you every single time.” his voice softened. “i loved you before we knew where this was going. i love you now, knowing exactly where we are. and i’ll love you through everything that comes next.”
by the time jeonghan finished, luna was already crying. she had tried so hard to hold it together, pressing her lips together and blinking repeatedly whenever her eyes began to sting, but the moment he said “i’ll love you through everything that comes next,” whatever composure she had left simply disappeared. a tear slipped down her cheek, followed by another, and then she let out a small, shaky laugh because she knew there was no saving herself anymore. she quickly wiped beneath her eyes with the back of her fingers, only for jeonghan to smile at her with that soft, familiar expression that somehow made everything worse.
luna shook her head at him through her tears, quietly laughing as she mouthed, “i hate you.”
jeonghan’s smile widened, his thumb gently brushing over her hand. “no, you don’t.”
she gave him a watery glare, which only made a few people in the audience laugh softly. someone near the front could be heard quietly sniffling, while others were smiling through their own tears. even the members were openly crying now, seungkwan and hoshi were bawling, dokyeom was trying not to wail while the rest were trying to stop tears from falling. the sight of them made luna laugh again despite herself.
jeonghan looked at her for another moment, his own eyes beginning to shine, but he still managed to keep that little teasing smile on his face. he squeezed her hand once, almost as though he were reminding her that he was right there.
luna took a shaky breath, trying to compose herself, but when she looked at him again, she only cried harder. she had heard him say i love you countless times before. she had said it to him just as many times. yet hearing those words here, after everything they had lived through, with their families and friends watching them and the years behind them leading to this exact moment, made them feel completely different.
jeonghan’s expression softened as he watched her, and for once, he didn’t tease her. he simply held her hand and let her cry.
when the officiant finally asked for their answer, luna smiled through the tears still gathered in her eyes. her cheeks were damp, her breathing a little unsteady, but the smile on her face was unmistakably happy as she looked at jeonghan.
the officiant turned toward her first, giving her a warm smile before speaking clearly enough for everyone gathered around them to hear. “bae jiyeon, do you take yoon jeonghan to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love, honor, and keep, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?”
luna looked at jeonghan for a long moment. she could feel his thumb moving slowly over the back of her hand, a small familiar gesture that grounded her when she was overwhelmed. she smiled at him through another tear that slipped down her cheek.
“i do.”
jeonghan’s smile appeared immediately, soft and bright and completely unable to hide how happy he was to hear those two words from her again.
the officiant then turned toward him. “yoon jeonghan, do you take bae jiyeon to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor, and keep, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?”
jeonghan didn’t even hesitate. “i do.”
luna let out the smallest laugh through her tears, and jeonghan glanced at her as though he had been waiting for that reaction. their hands tightened together, fingers threading more firmly as they stood side by side, both of them painfully aware that they had somehow found themselves answering the same question for the second time in their lives.
luna and jeonghan placed the rings on each other carefully after, both trying to see through their glassy and wet eyes.
the officiant smiled at them, allowing the moment to settle before continuing with the final words of the ceremony. “with the power vested in me, i now pronounce you husband and wife. you may kiss the bride.”
for one brief second, neither of them moved. then jeonghan moved toward her. his hand came gently to her cheek, his thumb brushing away the last trace of a tear beneath her eye before he leaned closer. luna smiled, her eyes closing just as their lips met in a soft, lingering kiss. it was gentle at first, almost shy despite the fact that they had already been married once, as though the entire world had disappeared and they were simply sharing another private moment between the two of them.
the crowd immediately erupted into applause.
luna barely had time to open her eyes before jeonghan’s expression changed.
she knew that look.
“yoon jeonghan,” she whispered suspiciously.
his smile widened instantly. “just one more thing, my pretty moon.”
before she could ask what he meant, his arm slipped securely around her waist and he dipped her backward with an ease that made her gasp, one hand instinctively gripping his shoulder as he leaned down and kissed her again.
the applause turned into loud cheers and laughter, with several of the members shouting from their seats while others clapped harder at the unexpected display. luna laughed against his lips, completely caught off guard, and when he finally brought her upright again, she immediately smacked his chest with the back of her hand.
“you couldn’t behave for one ceremony?”
jeonghan only laughed, keeping an arm around her waist. “apparently not.”
luna shook her head, still laughing as she tried to compose herself, while jeonghan looked at her with the same impossibly pleased expression he had worn the first time they were pronounced married.
and when the final words were spoken, when they were officially declared husband and wife for the second time, jeonghan looked at luna with the same expression he had worn the first time, as though he had somehow been given something he still could not believe he was lucky enough to have.
luna looked back at him with the same certainty she had carried down the aisle. she would choose him again. in another ceremony. in another country. in another lifetime. she would still choose him.

Did Jeonghan and Luna already get married in Korea and you’re just casually keeping that information from us??? 😭😭 AUTHOR, ARE YOU PLAYING WITH OUR FEELINGS AGAIN HAHAHAHA. the familiar weverse live countdown faded away almost as quickly as it had appeared, replaced by a slightly crooked view of a cream-colored sofa and the edge of a coffee table. the phone had clearly been balanced in a hurry.
for a few seconds, nobody was in frame. muted voices drifted in from somewhere nearby.
“…is it already on?”
“i don’t know.”
“you don’t know?”
“i pressed the button it should be on.”
“…han.”
“what?”
“you were supposed to check.”
“i thought you were checking.”
a second later, jeonghan leaned into view first. his face filled almost the entire screen as he squinted at the phone, brows pinched together in concentration. he looked unusually casual, dressed in a loose charcoal hoodie with his hair falling naturally over his forehead. there wasn’t a trace of styling left from whatever schedules he had finished earlier that day. his expression remained serious for exactly three seconds before he noticed the comments already flooding the screen.
“oh.” a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “i think we’re live.”
behind him, luna let out an incredulous laugh. “you think?”
she walked into frame carrying a large mug with both hands, still wearing fuzzy cream-colored slippers that shuffled softly across the wooden floor. her oversized beige knit cardigan hung loosely over a white tank top and gray lounge shorts, her hair gathered into a messy bun that looked like it had been tied up without much thought. a few loose strands framed her face, making her look more like she’d just gotten comfortable for the evening than someone about to appear in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers.
“you really started it without checking.”
“i wanted it to start authentically.”
she stared at him. “…authentically confusing?”
“i think it’s charming.”
she couldn’t help smiling. “you always say that after doing something questionable.”
jeonghan laughed quietly. “it works every time.”
by now, the viewer count was climbing so quickly that neither of them bothered trying to read the number anymore. the comments were moving too fast.
“oh my god they’re live?!!?!!?” “mom and dad are live together again!!” “everyone wake up.” “hello! my loves, i miss you two so much” “they look like my parents.”
luna finally sat down beside him, carefully setting her mug onto the coffee table before pulling one leg underneath herself. she glanced at the screen and immediately laughed. “there’s already so many of you.” she gave the camera a little wave. “hi.”
jeonghan mirrored the gesture. “hello.”
luna looked between the comments and the camera, smiling wider with every passing second.“it’s been a while.”
“it has,” jeonghan agreed softly.
“we honestly weren’t planning to go live tonight,” luna admitted. “we were just… we were just having some tea and thought it might be nice to say hello.”
luna leaned back, her shoulder pressing against jeonghan’s. “actually, he insisted,” she added, glancing at him. “he said the fans were probably wondering if i’d finally gotten tired of him after he came back from service.”
jeonghan tilted his head, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “i didn’t say that. i said they were wondering if you’d managed to keep the house in one piece without me.”
“you’re the one who breaks things, hannie.”
“i don’t break things. i explore the limits of their durability.”
luna rolled her eyes, but her hand found his, their fingers interlocking naturally on the sofa. she turned back to the screen, squinting at the rapid-fire text.
“someone is asking where we’ve been,” luna read. “‘where did you guys go? you disappeared for a few weeks!’”
jeonghan hummed, a small, secretive smile playing on his lips. he squeezed her hand. “we just needed some quiet. you know how it is. a little bit of something... refreshing.”
“refreshing?” luna laughed, the sound light and airy. “is that what we’re calling it?”
“it was very refreshing,” he murmured, leaning closer until his temple rested against hers.
“hope you guys are well rested and refreshed!” “they have the same smile help” “look at the way he’s holding her hand i’m actually sobbing” “stop being cute i have a heart condition” “where were you, besties spill the tea”
“we were just... around,” jeonghan said, his voice smooth and maddeningly vague. “visiting family. taking walks. sleeping in.”
“he slept a lot,” luna told the camera. “i think he tried to make up for all the sleep he missed in his service in one single month.”
“it’s called recovery, nana-ya. my body needed to recalibrate.”
“you’re a drama queen. you didn’t even do the regular service.”
“but i’m your drama queen, right?”
luna let out a soft huff and shifted, leaning her head on his shoulder. “anyway, we really missed you all. how have you been? are you eating well? please tell me you’re not staying up until 4 am scrolling through tiktok.”
“someone said they’re eating ramen for the third night in a row,” jeonghan noted, pointing at a comment. “see? this is why we have to do these lives. to monitor your health.”
“you’re the last person who should be giving health advice,” luna countered. “i remember a certain someone who lived on iced americanos and sheer willpower for three years.”
“it’s a lifestyle choice. you wouldn’t understand. you don’t have style.”
“i had to take a break from coffee for almost a year. it gave me heart palpitations.”
jeonghan chuckled, the vibration echoing through luna’s shoulder. he shifted his gaze back to the screen, his expression softening as he read a few more messages. “‘jeonghan-ah, i still cannot believe you’re back! we missed your chaos!’” he beamed. “i missed you too. did you think it would be too quiet without me? i bet you all were bored.”
“‘we were actually peaceful until you came back’,” luna read aloud, laughing.
“ouch,” jeonghan gasped, clutching his chest. “right here in front of my carats. do you see this, guys? the lack of loyalty.”
luna giggled, her eyes curving into crescents. “they have a point.”
“i can’t believe this. i’m being bullied in my own home.”
“it’s not your home, it’s our home,” she corrected gently.
jeonghan paused, his gaze drifting from the phone to luna. the playfulness didn't vanish, but it deepened into something more intense, more grounded. he leaned in and pressed a quick, lingering kiss to her temple.
“true. my mistake.”
“i used to pray for times like this” “i am actually screaming into my pillow” “the chemistry is literally radiating through the screen” “luna’s face 🥺🥺🥺” “are they even aware we are here or are we just third wheeling a date?”
“you guys are so loud,” luna said, though she was smiling. “we can feel the energy from here.”
“let’s see... ‘jeonghan-ah, what’s the most random thing you’ve done since you’ve been back?’” jeonghan read. he looked at luna. “tell them about the toaster.”
luna froze, her eyes widening. “no. we are not talking about the toaster.”
“why not? it was a very educational experience.”
“you tried to toast a marshmallow in a toaster, yoon jeonghan!”
“i wanted to see if it would work faster.”
“you almost burned the kitchen down!”
“but did it?” jeonghan asked innocently. “the marshmallow was perfectly caramelized. a bit of smoke is a small price to pay for culinary innovation.”
“he’s a menace,” luna told the fans, shaking her head. “a complete and utter menace. i spent two hours scrubbing my marble countertop.”
“and you loved every second of it because it gave you an excuse to yell at me.” jeonghan said smirking at her.
“i don’t need an excuse to yell at you.”
“you love it when i let you.”
luna rolled her eyes, but she didn't pull away when he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her flush against his side.
“someone is asking,” luna said, trying to steer the conversation back, “‘who is the better cook?’”
jeonghan didn't even hesitate. “me. definitely me.”
luna burst out laughing. “in what universe? you can barely boil water without a manual.”
“i make an excellent omelet.”
“you make a burnt omelet.”
“it’s a rustic style. very trendy in europe.”
“since when did you become an expert on european trends?”
“since i spent a lot of time... appreciating it more recently,” he replied, his voice dropping an octave. he glanced at her, a secret shared between them.
luna cleared her throat, her cheeks flushing a faint pink. “anyway! let’s move on. ‘what’s your favorite thing about traveling together?’”
jeonghan’s expression shifted instantly. the mischief vanished, replaced by a quiet, raw sincerity. he didn't look at the camera; he looked at luna.
“this,” he whispered. “just... this. not having to count down days on a calendar. not having to rely on video calls with bad connections. just being able to reach over and touch her whenever i want.”
luna stared at him, her breath hitching. she reached up, her fingers brushing the hair away from his forehead. “you’re being too sweet. you’re going to make them think you’ve changed.”
“i have changed,” he murmured, leaning into her touch. “i’m much more clingy now.”
“you were always clingy.”
“i’m professionally clingy now. it’s in my résumé.”
meanwhile, the fans were in shambles.
“i can’t birth 😭” “stop it right now” “this is too much wholesome content for one day” “the way he looks at her... he’s so gone” “slay, clingy king!”
“okay, okay,” luna said, blinking back a few tears of laughter. “let’s read more. ‘do you have any new hobbies?’”
“i’ve taken up the art of annoying our jiyeonie here,” jeonghan answered immediately.
“he’s very talented at it. a true virtuoso.” luna nodded her head.
“see? she recognizes my genius.”
“‘do you guys still argue about the laundry?’” luna sighed. “yes. he thinks 'sorting' is a suggestion, not a rule.”
“colors and whites are just social constructs, my baby.”
“they are not social constructs! you turned my favorite white sweater pink!”
“it looked better in pink. it matched your blush… and now my pants.”
luna hit his arm lightly, and he caught her hand, kissing her knuckles.
“someone is asking something... oh.” luna paused, her eyes scanning a recurring question. “‘are the wedding bells ringing soon? any updates on the date?’”
the atmosphere shifted. it wasn't a tense shift, but a playful one. jeonghan and luna looked at each other. a slow, synchronized smile spread across both their faces. they didn't speak for a few seconds, just staring into each other's eyes, giggling softly as if they were sharing a joke that the rest of the world wasn't privy to.
“wedding bells,” jeonghan repeated, his voice teasing. “that’s a very specific sound.”
“very melodic,” luna added, her voice airy.
“‘tell us!’” luna read a comment. “‘the rumors say you’re already married!’”
jeonghan leaned back, humming thoughtfully. he tapped his chin. “married, huh? that sounds like a lot of work.”
“a lot of commitment,” luna agreed, her eyes twinkling.
“do we look married? isn’t being just engaged better?” jeonghan asked the camera, leaning in close. “do i have the vibe of a married man?”
“yes” “you look like a husband who would do the dishes only if asked three times” “luna looks like a wife who is tired of his nonsense” “they’re messing with us” “the way they’re reacting… i think the rumors are true”
“i think i look like a bachelor in his prime,” jeonghan joked, winking at the camera.
“in your dreams,” luna muttered.
“wait, here’s another one,” luna read. “‘is the italy rumor true?’”
jeonghan’s eyes flickered to luna. he didn't answer. instead, he reached over and pinched her cheek.
“italy has great pasta,” he said simply.
“and great wine,” luna added.
“and beautiful architecture.”
“and very romantic sunsets,” jeonghan whispered, his voice trailing off as he looked at her.
“what’s the italy rumor anyway?” luna said with a chuckle before reading another comment. “‘stop teasing us! give us a yes or a no!’”
“life is more exciting with a little mystery, don’t you think?” jeonghan asked. “if we told you everything, you’d have nothing to speculate about on the internet. we’re doing this for your entertainment.”
“he’s literally a troll,” luna said, though she was leaning into him, her hand resting on his chest.
“a handsome troll,” he corrected.
“unfortunately, yes.”
“‘what’s the most romantic thing jeonghan has done since coming back?’” jeonghan read for luna to answer which caught her off guard.
luna paused, her expression softening. “um... he actually remembered that i wanted a specific kind of tea from a small shop in a city he visited during his leave. he traveled two hours out of his way just to get a box of it for me.”
jeonghan shrugged, looking slightly bashful. “it was on the way.”
“it was absolutely not on the way. it was in the opposite direction.”
“i took a detour. i wanted to see the scenery.”
“the scenery of a tea shop.”
“it was a very scenic tea shop.”
luna smiled, her heart clearly visible in her eyes. “it was really sweet. he’s actually very thoughtful when he’s not trying to start a fire in the kitchen.”
“i only try to start fires when i’m inspired.”
“‘what about luna? what’s the most romantic thing she’s done?’”
jeonghan looked at the camera, his expression turning smug. “she let me sleep on her lap for four hours straight without complaining that my head was too heavy.”
“that’s so dumb,” luna complained. “my legs were asleep for an hour after you moved.”
“true love requires sacrifice, nana-ya.” Jeonghan winked at her.
“i gave such a thoughtful answer for you and that was your answer for me! you make it seem like i don’t do anything romantic for you.” luna continued complaining with a pout and a frown on her face.
“your existence is romantic enough for me.”
“fucking sweet talker,” she whispered, so softly it was almost lost to the microphone, but the fans caught it.
“i’m crying” “they are so in love it hurts” “i can’t deal with this level of love” “screaming, crying, throwing up, ripping my hair out” “they’re literally the blueprint”
“let’s see... ‘did one of you ever forget an anniversary?’”
“hannie,” luna said instantly.
“ya!”
“you forgot our three-year anniversary because you were too focused on a video game.”
“i didn't forget it! i was just... building up the anticipation for a delayed celebration.”
“you forgot it.”
“i was strategically delaying it.”
“he’s lucky he’s cute,” luna told the fans.
“i’m not just cute. i’m charming, talented, and an excellent conversationalist.”
“and a liar,” she added.
jeonghan laughed, a rich, genuine sound, and suddenly pulled her into a hug, burying his face in the crook of her neck. luna gasped, laughing and trying to push him away, but she didn't really try.
“get off! we’re on live!” luna struggled to push him off her.
“i’m still at 40%. i need more.” he nuzzled her neck, and luna’s laughter turned into a soft, breathless giggle. she reached back, rubbing his shoulder.
“someone is asking,” luna managed to say, her voice a bit shaky, “‘oppa, what’s the first thing you ate to celebrate finishing your service?’”
jeonghan didn't move from her neck for a second before speaking. “jiyeonie made me tteokbokki. she makes amazing tteokbokki. hers is the only one that doesn't taste like cardboard.”
“i’m offended that you think other people’s tteokbokki tastes like cardboard.” luna tilted her head back chuckling.
“i’m a connoisseur of your cooking. my standards have been raised too high for the rest of the world.”
“stop flirting with me,” luna whispered, though she was beaming.
“i’m not flirting. i’m stating facts.”
“you’re always flirting.”
“that’s because you’re always flirt-able.” jeonghan lifted his head only to playfully wink at her.
luna groaned and pushed his face away, but she was smiling so wide her cheeks were flushed.
suddenly, a small, grey blur leaped onto the sofa. a tiny, fluffy bunny with long ears and a twitching nose landed right in the middle of them, hopping frantically before settling on luna’s lap.
“oh! bugs!” luna exclaimed, her voice turning high and sweet. she immediately began petting the bunny, her fingers sinking into the soft fur. “where did you come from, my baby?”
jeonghan looked at the bunny and then at the camera. “look at him. he’s trying to steal the spotlight. he’s just like me.”
“he’s nothing like you,” luna said, kissing the top of the bunny’s head. “he’s well-behaved and quiet.”
“i’m quiet!”
“you are the loudest person i know, even when you’re not speaking.”
“it’s called having a presence,” jeonghan defended.
“bugs the goat 🤩” “oh my god he’s so tiny” “bugs is the main character now” “the most wholesome family photo ever” “i want to be that bunny”
jeonghan watched luna pet the bunny, his gaze softening. he reached out, not for the bunny, but for luna’s cheek, his thumb brushing over her skin with an intimacy that felt almost too private for a public broadcast.
“you look happy,” he murmured.
luna paused, looking up at him. the noise of the comments, the glow of the screen, the presence of hundreds of thousands of people, it all seemed to fade away. for a moment, it was just them.
“i am,” she whispered. “very happy.”
jeonghan leaned in, his forehead resting against hers. the chemistry was thick, heavy, and undeniable. he lingered there, his breath warm against her lips. he didn't kiss her, but he was so close that the tension was electric.
“they forgot we are here” “i am literally screaming!! wtahfackkmkkk!!” “the tension is tensioning” “they are going to kiss they are going to kiss” “someone call the police because this is too hot for me”
jeonghan eventually pulled back, just an inch, a smirk returning to his face as he noticed the comments. “oh, look at that. we’ve broken the internet again.”
luna blinked, suddenly remembering the camera. she sat up straight, her face turning bright red. “we... we were just... bugs was being cute!”
“sure, bugs was the reason you were looking at my lips like that,” jeonghan teased.
“i was not!”
“you totally were. you were practically begging for it.”
“jeonghan!”
“what? it’s the truth. you’ve been deprived of my charms for too long.”
luna hid her face in her hands, laughing. “i can’t believe i’m doing this live. i can’t believe you’re like this.”
“it’s part of the package,” he said, wrapping his arm around her again and pulling her close. “now, let’s see what else they want to know.”
“there’s a lot of questions,” luna said, trying to regain her composure. “‘what’s one thing you’ve learned about each other since living together?’”
jeonghan hummed. “i’ve learned that jiyeonie if i try to talk to her first thing in the morning, she looks at me like she’s contemplating where to hide my body.”
“it’s a very dangerous time of day,” luna admitted. “and i’ve learned that hannie has a very specific way of organizing the fridge. if i move the milk two inches to the left, he notices immediately.”
“‘do you guys plan on getting a dog eventually?’”
luna looked at bugs, who was now chewing on the edge of her cardigan. “i think bugs might be jealous if we got a dog.”
“bugs is a king,” jeonghan agreed. “he doesn't share his kingdom.”
“but a husky would be so cute,” luna mused.
“as long as the dog doesn't try to steal my spot on the bed,” jeonghan added.
“you already steal all the space!”
“i’m a tall man, jiyeonie. i require a certain amount of space.”
“you’re not even that tall!” luna pointed out which earned her an offended gasp from her fiancé.
“i am tall enough to reach the things you can’t!”
“and you use that power for evil, like putting the cereal on the top shelf so i have to ask you for help.”
“it’s called 'encouraging communication' in the relationship.”
luna laughed and leaned her head back, looking at him with an expression of pure adoration. “i can’t believe i’m in love with this man.”
“i can. i’m a delight.”
“a delight. right. stop that.”
the comments were moving so fast they were almost a blur of white text.
“they are literally married in spirit” “look at her looking at him” “i’m literally screaming into my pillow right now” “they are the definition of soulmates” “why are they so cute i hate it here (i love it here)”
“stop what? being honest?” he nipped lightly at her earlobe, causing her to jump and giggle.
“han!” luna scolded him before bugs thumped his legs on her lap, earning her attention.
“see? bugs is the real boss of the house,” jeonghan said. “he decided he needed attention. he decides eveeything! he decides where we sit, what we eat, and probably when we’re allowed to go to sleep.”
“he really does,” luna agreed. “he tried to eat my charger yesterday. i had to chase him around the living room for ten minutes.”
“you’re not very fast, you know?” jeonghan joked.
“i am fast! you’re just... unnaturally athletic.”
“i’m perfection. i know,” he bragged, puffing out his chest slightly.
luna let out a soft, melodic laugh. “i have my doubts, but sure.”
jeonghan gasped, looking offended. “what’s that supposed to mean?”
“lmao the bickering” “speak on it” “they crack me up 😂
jeonghan’s eyes caught the last end of a comment ‘…they’re officially married.’ he stopped scrolling. he didn’t say anything, but he looked at luna. a slow, knowing smile spread across his face. he didn't confirm or deny; he simply raised an eyebrow and looked back at the camera, his expression a perfect blend of innocence and mischief.
luna felt the heat rise in her cheeks. she quickly looked away from the camera, focusing on a different set of comments.
“someone is asking if we’ve traveled anywhere recently,” she said, her voice slightly higher than usual.
“hmm,” jeonghan hummed, his voice vibrating against her shoulder. “i don’t know. do we travel? do we go places?”
luna elbowed him in the ribs. “behave.”
“i am behaving! i’m being a perfect angel,” he said, pouting.
“he is literally teasing us” “they know the rumors”
“okay…? next question,” luna said, trying to steer the conversation away from the wedding frenzy. “here’s one: ‘what’s the first thing you did when jeonghan came home from service?’"
jeonghan’s expression softened. the mischief faded, replaced by something raw and tender. he tightened his grip on her waist. “i didn’t say a word,” he whispered. “i just walked through the door, saw her standing there, and i hugged her for about ten minutes. i think i actually squeezed the air out of her.”
“you did,” luna said, her voice softening. “i remember thinking, ‘i love him, but i really need to breathe.’”
“you smelled like vanilla,” he murmured, closing his eyes for a second. “it was the first time i felt like i was actually home. i know that i go home every night after my shift, but at that moment i felt relief because it’s actually over.”
the comments slowed for a moment, the fans collectively swooning.
“my heart 🥹” “this is too wholesome” “i’m not crying you are” “they are the standard!”
“okay, enough of the sap!” luna said, though her eyes were shimmering.
jeonghan hummed as he scrolled further, his eyes lighting up. “oh, look at this one. ‘do you guys have any secrets you’re keeping from each other?’”
jeonghan looked at luna with a smug expression.
“no,” luna said firmly. “none.”
“really?” jeonghan asked, his voice dripping with playfulness. “are you sure? because i have a secret.”
luna narrowed her eyes. “han, don’t.”
“i’m just saying... some people might be interested to know that our jiyeonie wrote a song for me. again.”
luna froze. her jaw dropped, and she immediately turned to smack his chest. “you jerk! i was keeping that a secret!”
jeonghan burst into laughter, dodging her hand and pulling her back into his chest. he looked at the camera, sticking his tongue out triumphantly.
“a song?!” “what song?!! ” “drop the track now” “jeonghan you lucky man”
jeonghan beamed, looking incredibly proud of himself. “it’s beautiful. truly. i’m the only person in the world who gets to hear it. it’s my private treasure.”
luna groaned, hiding her face in her hands. “i can’t believe you. i spent weeks on that, and i specifically told you not to mention it.”
“i couldn't help it,” he said, his voice softening as he kissed the side of her head. “i wanted them to know how talented my girl is. and how much she loves me.”
“i do love you, but i hate you right now,” she mumbled through her fingers.
“you love me more,” he countered.
“maybe. a little.”
“a lot.”
“fine. a lot.”
“they are literally going to kill me with cuteness” “the way he brags about her 🩷” “i am literally vibrating” “luna please release the song i will pay
“no release!” luna shouted, looking at the camera. “there are no plans to release it! it’s for his ears only. he’s the only one who gets to be this spoiled.”
“i like being spoiled,” jeonghan said, leaning back and pulling her with him so they were both lounging across the sofa. “it suits me.”
“it really does,” luna sighed, finally relaxing.
they spent the next hour drifting through topics. they talked about their favorite movies—luna’s love for psychological thrillers that left jeonghan stressed for days, while jeonghan preferred old romantic comedies that luna claimed to hate but secretly watched when he wasn't looking only because it reminded her of him.
then jeonghan shifted his gaze to the screen again, and his expression shifted. he slowed down his scrolling. he stopped on a comment.
“there are articles and insiders saying that ya’ll already married.”
the air in the room seemed to shift. jeonghan didn't look away. he didn't skip the comment. instead, he turned to luna. he didn't say a word, but his eyes were searching hers. he reached down and took her hand, interlacing their fingers.
luna looked at their joined hands, then back at the camera. she didn't smile, but she didn't look away either. she just squeezed his hand.
“insiders, huh?” jeonghan said, his voice dropping an octave. “they say a lot of things.”
“they do,” luna agreed, her voice a whisper.
“some things are true,” he continued, his thumb rubbing circles over her knuckles. “and some things are just... well-kept secrets.”
he leaned in and kissed her, not a quick peck, but a slow, lingering kiss on the lips that lasted just a few seconds too long.
“oh my god” “i am screaming” “we’ve reached the point where they just be making out on live 😫”
“you’re so bad,” luna whispered, though she was beaming.
“i’m the best actually,” he replied.
“whatever…. someone is asking if we’ve picked out a cake,” luna read, her voice trembling with a suppressed giggle.
jeonghan looked at the ceiling, thinking. “hmm. cake. i like chocolate. luna likes something... lighter. maybe something with lemon?”
“i don't like lemon for the wedding cake. remember our last cake?” she corrected.
“what last cake?!!”
jeonghan froze. he blinked. then he burst into a fit of laughter, burying his face in luna’s neck.
“got caught…” he muffled into her skin.
“you idiot. no i didn’t.” luna laughed, trying to push him off, though she was hugging him back. “shut up. we can’t say anything,” luna said, looking at the camera with a playful, mysterious expression. “a lady must keep some secrets.”
“and a gentleman must protect those secrets,” jeonghan added, regaining his composure. he looked smug again. “but let’s just say... we’re very happy.”
“very happy,” luna echoed.
the conversation drifted back to safer waters. they talked about jeonghan and joshua’s upcoming unit comeback, the grueling hours of dance practice, and how they managed to keep their relationship a secret for five years before they got outed.
“the hardest part was the bathrooms,” jeonghan admitted. “we used to meet in the dressing room bathrooms for like, two minutes, just to hold hands and make sure the other person was okay. most times it’s the only place without cameras.”
“i remember once we almost got caught because you forgot to lock the door,” luna recalled.
“i didn't forget! the lock was broken!” jeonghan retorted, defending himself.
“you forgot.”
“okay, okay,” luna said, rolling her for the umpteenth time. she glanced at the time in the corner of the screen before letting out a surprised laugh. “oh… we’ve been talking for a lot longer than we thought.” she looked over at jeonghan, who nodded in agreement with an amused smile. “i think we should probably go now,” she continued, looking back at the camera.
“nooooooo!” “see you guys again soon 🥹” “congratulations in advance”
“thank you for spending your evening with us. we honestly didn’t plan anything for this live, we just wanted to hang out for a little while.” jeonghan gave the phone a small wave. “thank you for always supporting us,” he said warmly.
“please eat well, sleep well, stay healthy, and take care of yourselves.” luna smiled, gently resting her hand over his before adding, “and thank you for being excited for this new chapter with us. we’ll share everything when the time is right.”
together, they lifted their hands and waved at the camera as the comments flooded with goodbyes and heart emojis.
“we’ll go live again soon,” luna promised with a bright smile.
“hopefully sooner this time.” jeonghan laughed quietly beside her. “we’ll see you again before you know it.”
luna nodded enthusiastically. “goodnight, everyone. we love you. bye!”
“bye, carats,” jeonghan echoed, giving one last salute before reaching toward the phone.
they exchanged one final smile with each other, waved once more, and with a tap of the screen, the live came to an end.

PAGE 17 . for someone whose career has been built under an endless spotlight, luna wears white with surprising ease.
the singer graces the cover of vogue korea’s annual bridal issue in a story that feels less like a fashion editorial and more like a quiet celebration of the woman she has become. across the spread, luna moves effortlessly through an enviable collection of couture, wearing custom dior, archival chanel haute couture, vivienne westwood bridal, elie saab, giambattista valli haute couture, oscar de la renta, schiaparelli, and miss sohee, each gown capturing a different interpretation of modern romance. one moment she’s wrapped in layers of delicate tulle beneath the afternoon sun, the next she’s standing barefoot inside an old european-style estate, dressed in structured vivienne westwood corsetry with a cathedral-length veil trailing behind her. rather than feeling like she’s trying on dresses, it almost feels as though the dresses were waiting for her.
“it’s funny,” luna laughs during the interview. “i’ve worn wedding dresses for photoshoots, music videos and other projects before, but this one felt… different.”
q. different how?
“i don’t know if it’s because of where i am in life now, but i caught myself smiling between takes without realizing it. everyone kept asking me what i was thinking about.” she pauses. “i guess i was just excited.”
naturally, the conversation turns toward the next chapter of her life.
the timing of the feature has only fueled speculation, especially with her long-awaited wedding to band member seventeen’s jeonghan drawing closer following his military discharge earlier this year. although luna carefully avoids confirming any specific details, she doesn’t exactly deny that the coming months will be busy.
“the next few months are going to be really special,” she admits with a grin. “there are a lot of things we’ve been looking forward to for a long time.”
when asked whether wedding preparations have finally become real after nearly two years of waiting, luna lets out another laugh.
“i think we’ve been preparing in different ways for almost two years already. military service changes your timeline a little. you learn to be patient without really having a choice. so when he came home, it wasn’t like we were starting from zero. it felt like we were finally allowed to continue.”
she quickly catches herself before saying too much.
“i have to stop talking before i spoil something.”
one thing she has no problem discussing, however, is fiancé jeonghan’s involvement.
despite his notoriously relaxed image, luna reveals that her fiancé has been unexpectedly hands-on throughout the planning process.
“he’s very opinionated,” she says, laughing. “people think he just nods and lets me decide everything, but that’s absolutely not true. he notices tiny details i would’ve missed. sometimes he’ll send me pictures of flowers or table settings out of nowhere and ask, ‘what about this?’”
she smiles before adding, “he’s having just as much fun as i am.”
according to luna, the process has never felt stressful.
“i think that’s because we’re doing everything together. whenever one of us gets overwhelmed, the other reminds us why we’re doing it in the first place.”
when asked whether she has a favorite part of planning with her soon-to-be husband, luna thinks quietly before answering.
“i like the small moments the most. the conversations after meetings. driving home together. looking at ideas on the couch until one of us falls asleep. those are probably the memories i’ll treasure the most.”
of course, no bridal interview would be complete without asking about the dress.
or, more accurately…
the dress.
luna immediately shakes her head. “i knew you were going to ask that.”
q. can you tell us anything?
“only that i stopped changing my mind.”
q. so you’ve already chosen?
she smiles without answering. “let’s just say… i’m very happy.”
throughout the interview, luna remains careful not to reveal too much, often catching herself just before giving away another detail. more than once, she laughs and says, “you’ll know soon,” before steering the conversation somewhere safer. it’s enough to satisfy vogue, but just vague enough to leave everyone else guessing.
as the afternoon comes to a close and the final veil is carefully lifted away, luna takes one last look at herself in the mirror.
“i’ve always believed weddings are about more than one day,” she says softly. “they’re about everything that brought you there. every year. every sacrifice. every ordinary moment that quietly became part of your forever.”
she smiles again. “i think we’re finally getting there.”
whether that “there” is weeks away or months away remains anyone’s guess. if luna knows the answer, she’s keeping it to herself.
for now.
PAGE 18 . ever since completing his military service, jeonghan has quietly settled back into public life in the most jeonghan way possible: slowly, casually, and just often enough to keep fans guessing.
from surprise instagram uploads to spontaneous weverse posts and relaxed late-night lives, he’s been noticeably more active online, dropping in whenever he feels like it rather than following any sort of schedule. his most recent weverse live on july 15 was no different. lasting just under an hour, the broadcast felt less like a planned event and more like a conversation between old friends, with jeonghan chatting comfortably about his daily routine, life after enlistment, recent meals, catching up with the members, and adjusting to being back in the spotlight.
naturally, it didn’t take long before the questions everyone wanted answered began flooding the comments.
q. “have you been busy lately?”
jeonghan smiled before nodding. “very busy.” he laughed almost immediately afterward, as if realizing how suspicious that sounded. “i’ve been going out a lot more recently. there are a lot of appointments these days.”
q. “what kind?”
“i don’t think i can say.”
cue the comments moving approximately one hundred miles per hour.
reading them aloud, jeonghan could only laugh. “you guys really connect everything. i mean…” he paused, smiling to himself. “you wouldn’t be wrong to think the next few months are going to be busy.”
although he carefully avoided saying the word “wedding” even once, fans were quick to notice how often his answers naturally drifted toward the future. every time someone asked about travel plans, schedules, or upcoming projects, jeonghan answered in broad strokes, never revealing enough to confirm anything, but never quite shutting the conversation down either.
“we’ve been preparing for a long time,” he admitted at one point. “it feels nice that everything is finally happening.”
when another fan jokingly asked if he was talking about music, jeonghan simply grinned. “maybe.”
the conversation softened when viewers began asking about luna.
jeonghan’s expression immediately changed as he quietly answered, “she’s good.” he could have left it there, but instead added, “she’s been happier lately. i think waiting for two years teaches you to appreciate the little things.”
it was one of the most sincere moments of the evening, and fans immediately connected it to the nearly two years the couple spent waiting through his military service before finally being able to continue planning their future together. almost realizing he’d become a little too sentimental, jeonghan laughed to himself and covered his face for a moment. “i’ve already said too much.”
naturally, the comments only became more relentless. asked whether luna had been just as busy as he was, he nodded without hesitation. “very.” when fans pressed further, asking what exactly she’d been doing, all he would offer was a mischievous smile and a simple, “things.” even after hundreds of comments begged him for a hint, he refused to budge, laughing as he repeated, “i really can’t tell you… you’ll know soon.”
later in the broadcast, another fan pointed out that both he and luna seemed to be disappearing from the public more often lately.
jeonghan chuckled at the observation before clarifying, “we’re not disappearing.” after a small pause, he smiled and corrected himself. “we’re just… occupied.” naturally, the chat immediately demanded to know with what, but he only laughed again and replied, “i knew someone was going to ask that. i’ll let jiyeonie tell you when she’s ready.”
it was a simple sentence, but one that immediately reignited speculation online. coming just days after luna’s vogue korea bridal issue, where she similarly described the coming months as “very special” while carefully avoiding specifics, fans couldn’t help but notice how perfectly the two stories lined up. neither confirmed anything outright, yet somehow both managed to hint at exactly the same thing.
toward the end of the live, one final question caught his attention. someone asked whether he was excited for whatever was coming next in terms with his future with luna.
jeonghan didn’t answer immediately. instead, he smiled the kind of smile fans know all too well, the one that usually means he’s about to dodge the question. after letting the silence linger for just a moment, he quietly admitted, “i’ve waited a long time.” then, almost as an afterthought, he added, “so has she.”
with that, he thanked everyone for spending the evening with him, wished fans a good night, and ended the broadcast before anyone could squeeze another answer out of him.
he said plenty and he confirmed nothing.
naturally, the internet is calling it his most suspicious live yet.
and if i say luna wrote honeybee for her hannie a few weeks before their wedding day and has no plans on releasing it because it’s only for his ears, then what ??
