An er doctor that wants to just lounge around does not make me feel confident as a patient

how long and how many days a week do you think ER doctors work. i think they're right to want to just fucking chill. i want a well rested doctor treating me and not one who just pulled a 24 hour shift and then a 12 and another 12 before another 24, with only a few hours of legally mandated breaks inbetween.

Also, I don’t actually care if someone is less productive working 30 hours a week or 20 hours a week. We do not need endless productivity and it’s bad for the earth and bad for people. We would be completely fine if everyone was half as productive. Literally we would be better off. It does not matter that a 30 hour work week is as productive as a 40 hour work week. Reject that framing!

Also, can we talk about how “multitasking” is not real? And constantly switching between tasks is super bad for your brain and leads to mistakes? And how “multitasking” is a requirement on almost every job listing, even though it’s not real and bad for everyone involved??

I want to watch an emergency responder procedural that starts off as normal with improbable disasters every week, but as the series goes on the characters become increasingly aware of how statistically unlikely their local rate of disaster has become, and the country and civilians react accordingly. mass exodus of the rich, influx of meteorologists and other relevant scientists, a local doomsday cult flourishes... the emergency responders are still responding to their emergencies but the show has slipped sideways from straight procedural to scifi as the disasters have to keep ramping up to top the previous disasters. like by the end of season two they're battling an alien invasion, an archaeologist has uncovered an ancient cursed artefact in the catacombs under the town hall and absolutely everyone has ptsd

its actually pretty necessary for people who grew up being told "all of your thoughts are constantly monitored by an omniscient and omnipotent authority who may doom you to an eternity of torment if you think wrong" to occasionally be reminded that none of it is true at all.

One time on a conference call my cat opted to curl up on the kitty bed next to my desk, and I figured, why not? So I turned on the camera and pointed it at the recumbent feline, who proceeded to lounge and snooze for the next hour. No one said anything until the end of the call, which was ended with "I don't know who it was that put their camera on their cat, but thank you. That was so relaxing."

genuinely if you watch multiple gameplay videos about a video game I don’t think ur being a poser. like sometimes people just don’t have access to this stuff. if u just read the Wikipedia page for it or watch tiktok clips then yeah ur probably posing but if ur watching 10 hr gameplay videos no i think ur good

Frankly, I don't buy the theory that the repeated sweeping deletions of trans women's blogs have principally been the product of bad-faith mass reporting campaigns abusing automated moderation. I've been falsely mass-reported before, on multiple occasions, and nothing's ever come of it. Someone is pulling that trigger.
