Nichelle felt huge already. Not that she really had anything to compare to since: A) she'd never been pregnant before and B) She hadn't any ties to anyone biological for an idea of what she might be like. She'd been sleeping often and eating more, but so far, she'd been assured that she was doing fine. So getting the inconclusive blood test had been concerning but she tried not to outwardly be too worried. She knew that Surge was scared about the pregnancy as it was, and while things had been going well, from what she knew, things were very much the same for Sarai up until the birth.
While laying on the exam table with just her very round and protruding stomach exposed, Nichelle held onto Surge's hand to try and give him some comfort. "My pregnancy app I've been using says the baby's the size of a banana now. But I feel like I look like have a bunch of bananas in there." Squeezing Surge's hand, she gave him a light smile. "Mom keeps joking that the banana's got my big head. I told her every time she makes that joke, she's gonna be banned a month from seeing both of her grandkids."
"Oh, so you had a feeling," the ultrasound tech chuckled, as she looked over everything, "Because it looks like you do have two bananas in there. Or babies if you'd prefer the technical term.
"Wait what?" Surge asked, looking at the screen. And he could see it - both babies, where he could have sworn they only had one before.
