Tomorrow Never Came

4 Then Jesus asked them, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they remained silent.

5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.

It is so incredibly easy to pass judgement on the Pharisees. “At least I’m not like that!” - I cry to the Lord while reading - and honestly, I almost didn’t catch the irony. Sure, the pharisee’s love their rules, but don’t I as well? My worried heart, my anxieties - I let them hold me captive, and I refuse to live in the truth that the Lord is good. He is the law. He is the truth. He came to do good!
