Off from work!
No you don’t read it wrong. It’s not off to work for me. It’s been two months since the last time I woke up really early in the morning to go to work or I can say off to teach. It’s just a little rumble from me so yeah if any of you see this little talk up on your dashboard and you have some online or offline education work for me just send me a message, I’m gonna reply you right a way. yes I indeed need a job to make myself busy

Bringing a baby to class is so completely disrespectful of the other students who are spending thousands of dollars to go to school only to have their learning disrupted by the most horrible sound on earth. This woman is incredibly selfish.
are you kidding me? this woman needs an education too, especially since she now has a child to take care of. yes, she brought her baby to class, but do you honestly think she would have done that if she had any other option? she’s not being selfish, she’s trying to simultaneously get an education while raising a baby. and just as a side note, “other students who are spending thousands of dollars” yeah she’s a student too meaning she’s also spending those thousands of dollars.
as a student, i would much rather my fellow classmates brought their kids with them than miss an important class. a child is nothing compared to all the other distractions in a classroom, i s2g. half of the time, i see more than 50% of my fellow classmates on their phones or laptops instead of paying attention to a prof (and i’m guilty of being one of them) so why in the hell is a baby more “disrupting” than someone playing candy crush?? and she was going to leave when the child started geetting restless but the prof CHOSE to help her out so she could stay. THAT IS AWESOME!!!
i went to school with my mom when she was in college all the time. i sat in lit classes, chinese history, etc. granted, i was like 8 or 9 at the time and played pokemon all the way through but having a kid should NOT prevent any parent from getting their education and i’m glad to see this prof take it in stride and recognize that student parents are under SO MUCH PRESSURE to get through school and handle their family at the same time.
I remember seeing preschool age kids sitting in on my classes because the nontraditional students couldn’t get babysitters on days the preK or daycare was closed. One time I shared my colored pencils with a little girl. Profs never said a word about it when it happened–except one who cracked a joke about watching his language on that day. I’d rather work with the single mom or dad who has to bring a kid to a study session than a fratboi dudebro who just wants to copy all my notes any damn day. (True story.)
I have brought my baby to class as well. As an undergrad, my baby/toddler came with me to advising appointments or other places on campus and nobody ever said an unkind word or looked askance. I brought my toddler to an English Dept meeting when I was asked (as a student who had completed student teaching) to speak to new Ed. majors, and when he went galloping down an aisle, one of my professors just scooped him up and started playing until I was done speaking. I always checked first, just in case, but sitters are expensive, man. Bring the babies!
Also, when her child started to fuss, she got up as not to disrupt others. Awesome for the professor to allow her to stay in class and not miss anything.

I’ve been struggling this year. It’s my second year teaching grade 1 and I thought it would simpler. Now I have some Grade 2’s, I’m at a different school, and I have 25 very busy and chatty students. I find this year so different than last year and I’m having a really difficult time with it.

99% of teachers spend $500-$1,000 of their own money each year on class materials. Adoptaclassroom.org and Donorschoose.org are charities that let you donate to classrooms, and teachers update you with pictures to show how your money was used. Source
More like $2000 per year or more…
I need something like this in my country ;0
Hi I'm hoping you can help. I teach ESL at a private tutoring company in Japan and I have a class of three Junior High School girls who are so exhausted by the end of the day that they really don't want to be in class and struggle to keep their heads off the table. They don't like the textbook so I tried playing all sorts of games to get them talking with little luck. My boss suggested I make them write journals (2-3 lines a week) but I don't see that helping them to engage. What do you think?
SPARK!! Students need to keep active. I have a large, rowdy class that cannot focus; I take them outside with different sports equipment (or for a walk around the school in poor weather), and they come back to class focused and ready to learn. They also start the class more focused because they know Spark is coming. I usually have them write a journal or silent read for the first 25 minutes of class, then we go out for Spark for a maximum of 20 minutes (including travel time), then we come back for about 30 minutes of more class. The break outside of class is worth it, otherwise no work will be done at all during the entire period. The first time I did it, I was SHOCKED at how focused and ready to learn they were when we came back.
My current school encourages teachers to do it in their classes; in my previous school, it was a regularly scheduled part of the day for every student in the school. All you need is somewhere to walk around, and some equipment like a football, frisbees, soccer balls, dodgeballs, basketballs, etc. You could also lead them in other types of exercises.
Look into it:

My class were having a 'Sandwich Party' last Friday. We had so much fun! My kids playing around with their sauces and everyone was really eager to be a one-day-chef. It's actually a part of our lesson. We have been learning the second theme on our thematic subject which talk about the energy around us. So at the end of the week we had a project which conclude all the subject we have been learning in past days.
Teaching kids to be leaders.

Me and My Task Based Learning Buddy
Task Based learning, yup that's exactly my main topic or you can say the title for my undergraduate thesis. This is a method that i need to use for my research in teaching high school student. actually, at first I didn't register this topic for my thesis. I submitted 'Team Games Tournament' method for my research but then unfortunately it was rejected. That's really a very terrible moment for me. Because, I had prepared all the materials like the books, some articles, and much more for it. And you know what was worst is i have only one night to prepare or to get another title for my research. Yes that was crazy. After like hours bawling my eyes out I got up from my bed then tried to reread some e-books and articles on internet. but sadly i got nothing. But then I opened Youtube and typed 'teaching method' then after hitting some pages i found this video about task based learning in university. Shortly, I picked this method for my research because this one is really fun to do.
