PEI's the Danks just released a new video for their very catchy "Experimental Fiction." See them Friday night at Supercrawl.

Vancouver's Said the Whale are tearing up the airwaves this summer with their new single and EP, I Love You. It's the catchiest song in a long line of catchy songs from the band.

Last year saw Said the Whale play on the Colbourne stage in the afternoon. For 2013 they have earned an evening slot on the King James stage.

On their proper debut, Speedy Ortiz join a small club of young indie rock bands writing lyrics that are actually worth poring over, but the charms here extend beyond frontwoman Sadie Dupuis' clever and biting wordplay. The 1990s-indebted guitar crunch and quaking rhythms are a perfect match for her dark wit.

Sonic Youth has influenced many musicians and music lovers over the past two decades. Their music challenged the very definition of "music" at times.

The Thurston Moore-led Chelsea Light Moving uses Sonic Youth as a starting point and roars into life from there.

One of our favourite bands of all-time is Hoboken's Yo La Tengo. You cannot imagine how excited we are that they are playing Supercrawl this year. Saturday September 14 to be exact. Expect to see us right at the front of the stage. Earlier this year, Yo La Tengo released their latest album, Fade, which ranks as one of their best. It's amazing seeing a band that has been releasing albums for over 20 years to still push themselves to be better with every release. And live, if you have never seen Yo La Tengo, their show is fully of energy, highlighted by some pretty amazing guitar playing from Ira Kaplan.
