SUPERCORP PROMPT ZONE

Hi! This has been tossing around in my head for a while now, and I do not have the time or ability to write this, but I would be ecstatic if someone wanted to write something even remotely along the lines of this, or even if anyone reads this and enjoys the idea.

Since Kara was on track to be the youngest member of the science guild on Krypton, and Krypton is more advanced than Earth, it logically follows that Kara would be a super science (and math because science is based on math) genius on Earth, even after learning the archaic way science is done on Earth.

However: Instead of being a science prodigy, Kara learns to fit in and be average in all subjects. She lets Alex be the sciencey one, and when she meets Lena, it’s second nature to pretend to be clueless. This results in multiple occasions where Kara knows how to solve a science/math/tech nerd problem, but lets her superfriends figure it out. She has faith in them and doesn’t want to disrupt the dynamic.

This works fine for her until (some major catastrophe requiring engineering and science) happens. Alex and Lena (idk brainy’s otherwise occupied) stay up for three days trying to figure out how to save the world, and Kara just makes sure to pop in and make subtle suggestions. After three days, things are getting bad (read: people dying, imminent destruction, etc.) and Kara realizes that they won’t get it in time. So, she sneaks into one of Lena’s labs, and figures out how to fix the problem. (She works hard, but it only takes her like 3 hours.) She then leaves the solution/device outside of the lab Alex and Lena are in, and waits around the corner. Lena walks out to go grab more coffee, looks down, and swears. They figure out what it is/how to use it, but after the crisis is averted they will not stop trying to find out who did it. Kara plays along, but has to go ruin security tapes multiple times. She doesn’t want to make Lena feel insecure, as she knows how much Lena values her intellect, and doesn’t want to ruin/change their friendship by revealing another thing she’s been lying about. It becomes thus whole thing, and she eventually has to reveal that it was her to prevent the superfriends from (doing something crazy to figure out who has the information).

Brainy is proud of her, he’s always known. J’onn is happy there wasn’t a security breach, and Nia has discovered its wonderful to tease Kara about. Alex is peeved for all the time she’s spent doing stuff that Kara could have done, but she gets over it.

I’ve been toying with the idea of running challenges for a while now. The idea is that there will be a single theme or prompt that writers are challenged to right a fic based of the theme or prompt. Then after a set submission period the public can vote for the winner of the challenge.
