sunset macher, or whatever her name is, she’s forgotten it for so many years now, all she could remember are her days when the order started. not a clue about the real macher family at a very young age, what they’ve done in that have made them famous not just through the country but the world. what has she been thought her whole life that they were a family that is opposed to what everyone believed them to be, that the world was just a jealous place and chose to turn against them because they were superior, they knew different.
unknown to sunset, that at a very young age, she had been abducted by the order’s leaders themselves when her family was on a vacation. there had been a search for months for the little blue-eyed girl, until they have given up with how hopeless it was, how suddenly there has no trace of her presence. and in her memories, this part of her past doesn’t exist.
the girl with the dreamy eyes grew only knowing and living the beliefs of the order, singing the words and praises her abductors parents have written, and with that, it wasn’t much hard to persuade for people to associate themselves with the cult.
she was around fifteen years old when she met cherry and never failed to spend time with her, the duo can always be found at the ice cream shop. whilst sunset hated cones and only had her ice cream on cups with m&m’s and chocolate syrup, the other will always have black cherry ice cream with extra cherries on top. that may be the only thing sunset can identify about herself, that sadly separates her from the order, well, besides the fact that she was named after the time of day she had been born abducted. blinded by their beliefs, she spent a while to recruit the little blonde and eventually got her run away to the ranch and bestowed her the name cherry. she was her first recruit, and the one she’s closest to, which gave her this reason to be protective of the other.
as she grew up, her curiosity about the world grew larger, and her own beliefs slowly started to change. she wanted to leave the order, yet she couldn’t because of the girl who always had that black cherry ice cream with extra cherries when they were both children. she’s the one who manipulated and put her into this path, and now she wants to make sure that cherry won’t get in trouble for it, she’d blame herself forever if something were to happen to her. she had been given a phone by one of the others who had been part of the order and had been sneaking around just to be able to use it, getting to know the outside world whilst she was trapped in her abductors parents’ own.
she wanted to tell her badly how she grew out of their beliefs, on how she wanted a life of her own, to discover herself with the order shredded from her identity, yet she knew that the other is in deep that black hole and there’s no such way to get her out of it, to lead her back to the path to where she’s supposed to be. and growing out she wasn’t the only one to experience, yet a few other people, too. she hoped the same for the girl she cared most, but it was too late, cherry was far from saving, deep into the order’s beliefs that she lost her before she had the chance to stop it.
and that day is something that lived in her mind forever, and what has pushed sunset to be motivated to leave, and she prayed for strength to whoever she could pray to, but whatever it was, some kind of blessing in disguise came to her that day. the order has been wiped out, all of the believers, except her, spared by people she expected to give her a chance to escape the least.
weeks and weeks of aimlessly roaming around to look for them, the twins, to express her gratitude, it was something sunset chose not to give up on, and now…she finds herself in this unknown place, helltown. well, she’d take this place over where she lived almost her whole life before, a start for a venture of not just learning things she’s yearned to learn her whole life, but also a venture for who she really is. and perhaps, it starts now, since the very people she followed to this town disappears, leaving her with more questions instead of answers, especially after the fact that she isn't supposed to be alive. now, here in this exact place, this town, sunset is on the search of her purpose.
