Danny had always had a deep kernel of belief that his parents would accept him as Phantom. However that kernel was quite deep and covered by anxiety and paranoia. After all, they even sometimes worked with ghosts when the time came for it! He had even tried to tell them more than once, though his nervousness and the constant interruptions meant he hadn’t managed that yet.
So when his parents declared they were going to Gotham because of ghost rumors, Danny was dragged along and disgruntled because Gotham, while have higher ecto levels, was no where near enough to hide his ecto-signature when in ghost form.
Of course, nothing could have prepared him for what would happen 3 days into their stay. A fuzzy thought tickled the back of his mind as he stared in shock. ‘Did I really believe that they would change? Or was I just in denial?’

Jason stood on a rooftop as Red Hood, on his usual patrol. There had been an Arkham breakout recently and a decent few of the big time Rouges were still out. Unfortunately he had been getting a bad feeling about tonight, so his paranoia was ramped up and he was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Then he spotted a kid. Male, dark hair, kinda short, maybe 5ft 5in. He staggered about in a daze, and when a glint of light hit him, blood covered his clothes. Foreboding slipped in and Jason immediately connected his com. “Hey, just a gut feeling here but I need Red and Black Bat to join me at my location. Got a kid covered in blood.”
Grappling down to the street he barely focused on the confirmation they were on their way. Landing near the kid he realized that his clothes had quite a bit of blood on them, and worry began to worm in that he was injured worse than he thought. “Kid?” Jason called out.
Not seeing the kid react he slowly got closer and reached out, gently grasping his arm. Turning the kid around, his eyes were glazed in shock, murmuring something Jason couldn’t make out. Hearing the thwip of a grapple, Red Robin and Black Bat landed near him.
“The kid is in shock, not reacting to outside stimulus. He seems to be murmuring something but it’s too quiet to hear.” Jason stated.
Red moved closer, “Is he injured?”
Jason shook his head. “Can’t tell.”
BB tilted her head. “Use com to see what he is saying?”
Red hmmed. “Yeah.” Clicking his com on, he sent out to all the others, “Everyone be quiet on coms for a bit. The kid is saying something too quiet to hear so we are gonna see if putting a com near his mouth will allow us to hear it.”
After getting confirmation from the other BB took a spare com and placed it near the kids mouth. Jason was not expecting what he heard.
“They killed someone. They Ended him.”
And somewhere deep inside Jason, he felt the part that always been the pits Shudder. He didn’t know exactly what the kid was talking about but somehow he felt he knew. Someone had just been erased from existence.
Swearing, Jason called out to Oracle. “O, find out where this kid came from, I don’t know exactly what is going on but the part about Ending someone made the pits react. Whatever it is isn’t good.”
Jason could practically feel a grim atmosphere take over all the Bats and Birds at the mention of the Pit reacting. Hopefully whatever this was had nothing to do with Ra’s.
Jason looked over to the other two, “Let’s get the kid to a safe house, check him for injuries and get him cleaned up.” Picking the kid up, they grappled away.

Bruce hoped against hope this didn’t have anything to do with the LOA. As he followed the trail Oracle had traced from the boy Hood found, Nightwing and Robin by his side, he focused on silently entering the house before him.
With silent signals they split up, checking for other occupants. Receiving confirmation that no one was upstairs, they gathered at the basement door and slowly went down the stairs, following a trail of blood which was assumed to be from the boy leaving the scene.
Turning on the lights, they were unprepared for the sight before them. The Joker was strapped to a table, dead, his chest open like an autopsy. Blood was covering the floor in a pool, and splattered over many tools sitting nearby.
Many of his organs had been… removed and placed in jars. Weirdest of all was a small, broken, circular object sitting nearby, the color a faded purple green.

Derek... We can't speak for everyone, but you should at least know that not ALL of us are like that. We promise to you, we will do anything in our power to keep Avery safe from those types of anons, even if we can't control what he hears from others. No matter how interesting it makes the story, your guys' safety in the end is what's most important, to us at least. Even if you know it's just a story to us, you should at least also know that a bad ending isn't exactly what we want! Again, we can't speak for every single one of us, but trust ME at least—as one anon—that I, and the other askers that agree with me, will protect you two.

Danny joins Young Justice (how idk but I would guess chaos) and due to being in constant excessive danger due to all the ghosts, hunters, and his previous home security, tends not to notice things below a certain danger level.
Example:
Danny: *walks over a trip wire, around a pressure plate, ducks under a laser, and continues on completely oblivious*
YJ member behind him: *trips on the wire, causes a cascade of activated traps and barely makes it out* phantom! Why didn’t you tell me about the trip wire?!
Phantom: There was a trip wire???? *genuine confusion*
M’gann: I can tell you are genuinely confused but how did you miss the wire? *baffled*
Danny also forgets to warn his teammates of certain things, like a laser being shot from their flank etc.
So Danny, now an adult and no longer actively a hero, is like 99.9% sure he’s immortal (the 0.1% is largely self doubt) because of this and an unwillingness to handle an 9 to 5 without killing his manger, he decides to become a daredevil by the name of Un-killable.
His shows r an instant hit. He’s able to do things that others would only dream, all with the causal attitude of a guy on a grocery run. As if jumping off the tallest building in the world and landing in a kiddy pool is just a normal Saturday for this guy. 
Now while people have come to the reasonable conclusion that he is a meta, their still 50-50 on if he’s actually un-killable or not. This is not helped by the fact that Danny refuses to acknowledge any of the crazy shit he does as anything unusual.
This all comes to a head when Danny does a show in Gotham and Joker (jealous of someone else taking the spotlight) decides to test just how un-killable he is. 
He fully expects it to be a lie. Fully thinks that if Danny is a meta, he’s not immortal. That with enough bullets, bombs, joker gas, poisons and just good old fashioned brute force the guy will die. 
As the night goes on however, he starts to reconsider

Danny Fenton was declared legally dead. He wasn’t outed as Phantom to his parents. No, it was due to government clerical error. When a Daniel Fenten (no relation, he checked) died, someone replaced the e with an o.
The problem comes in that it is an absolute pain to be declared alive again. It also prevented him from going to school, since despite the GIW’s attempts to cut off Amity they wouldn’t mess with taxes.
So after a lot of hassle trying to overturn it they get fed up and make him a fake identity under Daniel Nightingale and he switches to online school (which actually goes much better for his hero schedule).
This later becomes important when Danny tries to join WE and his ID gets flagged in the background check.
Danny is in Gotham for college, and during finals month the Joker goes on a spree. After the Joker breaks out of Arkham for the THIRD time Danny in a fit of sleep deprived pique does a bit of research, breaks into Arkham, and swaps prisoner transfers so that the Joker is taken to a prison out of state.
It’s only after finals are over, and he has slept for two days, that he calls Tucker to check on his half brained plan, to find out it worked? Somehow it worked. The Joker is now at a different prison where he has no corrupted guards etc to help him breakout and is now stuck there.
The bats only find this out when their paranoia of “why hasn’t the Joker broken out yet?” kicks in.
