Everyone, I found this on Reddit: a cutscene in P1 where Alex goes to the hospital to check on Danaโprobably set before the aircraft carrier battleโand also P1's writer Dennis's thoughts on the sequel. Dana was indeed infected by Greene and became a new Mother.
The sequel would have been a confrontation and connection between Alex and Pariah, picking up on the foreshadowing from the first game.
This outcome is sad, but I'm also relievedโthis cutscene gave me the real conclusion.
Even after Alex learned his true identity, he still cared about and missed Dana the mostโhis sister.
Oh, and to clarifyโby "sequel," I mean theย realย Prototype 2 that we should have gotten.
