Self reflection of my final film
After two months of work, I finally finished my animation. In the process, I learned a lot of animation techniques and improved a lot of soft skills.
First of all, I want to introduce the software I mainly use. My draft is mainly done on the iPad, using Filpcilpa to make the anmatic, and Procreat to draw the split. Then, after the previous work is completed, I will use Photoshop to re-draw the sketch, then color it and make it into an animation. Finally, I will put the finished lens into Pr to synthesize and make sound with Au.
In the above software, Flipclipa and Procreat are both software on iOS, which means that I can draw sketches on my ipad anytime, anywhere, using the fragmentation time to work. In Photoshop, each of my layers is independently created and colored, which means that I can easily modify and move them to create a lot of animations. In addition, I also named the files for each shot and the layers in the file. The advantage of this is that even if I am not satisfied with a shot when editing a video, or find some errors, I can easily correct the error by replacing the original file.
In the process of synthesizing animation, I made a layer of paper material on the top layer of the animation, because I wanted to achieve a printed texture from the beginning, and by adjusting the transparency and color temperature of the top material, I can easily control the animation. Brightness and white balance.
In terms of sound, I used a lot of sound effects from Freesound.org. I learned some ways to use sound effects from horror movies and used them to create the atmosphere of the whole story. However, I am not satisfied with the dubbing of the film, mainly because I did not find a suitable voice actor. After several test recordings, I finally decided to record my own voice and then transpose it in Au to make my own voice sound like a child. The final result is not as ideal as I planned, but due to time I have to adopt this plan first. I hope that in the future I will have the opportunity to recreate the dialogue in my film.
