Cancer's ruling planet is the moon, the planet of emotions and inner life. Cancerians tend to come out of their shells a little bit at night, perhaps under the influence of their mother planet. Like the moon and the tide, Cancer changes often. It's not like a Gemini change, however, but rather a shift of emotions.

We are aquatic beings. I remember, when studying geography, we learned how large bodies of water lessen the severity of weather extremes in an area. For the turbulent inner climates of those born in Cancer, it seems as if this continentality is psychologically effective.
