9 years of the Astro Boy Art blog!
Today, October 13, 2025, marks 9 years since I started this Tumblr blog, Astro Boy Art (also known as Astro Boy News & Announcements).
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for your support over the years. Your kind words, helpfulness, and encouragement since October 13, 2016 has kept me going.
This blog is a passion project for me, documenting as much Astro Boy memorabilia as I can. Astro Boy, a series as important to the history of manga, comic books, anime, animation, and media as a whole, deserves to be documented. I hope you all have learned something about Astro Boy though this blog.
I also want to share the wonderful official Astro Boy artwork, and reblog the talented Astro Boy fan artwork that many of you that follow this blog create. Since becoming a fan in 2011 and starting this blog in 2016, I'm continually amazed at how talented many of you are when drawing, writing, or using other legitimate means of creating fan artworks through your own creativity. If no one else tells you, let me be someone to tell you that your artworks are incredible and I enjoy seeing them and sharing them (through reblogs and with permission of course) with other talented artists.
I'm amazed that I've ran this blog for this long if I'm being honest. Other than Atom: The Beginning and the new 3D Astro Boy short film that showed at the Osaka World Expo in 2025, not much has happened in the world of Astro Boy over the last year. Astro Boy has been around long before this blog began and I'm sure it'll be around long after this blog finishes. But while it exists, I hope I can honor the memory of Osamu Tezuka by keeping this wonderful series, Astro Boy, and the many Tezuka Star System series alive through this blog.
Once again, thank you all so much. Running this blog has been one of the funnest things I've ever done. Whether you've been with me since the beginning or are just passing through for a short time, I hope I can brighten your day even just a little bit.
