Loose Lips Sink Ships.

Hey, friends! This post has been a long time coming. I considered making it right when the roleplay started actually, but it slipped my mind through all the hustle-and-bustle of opening. However, since we've gotten a lot further into the RP over the past three-or-so weeks since we've opened, and the Gossip Blog is constantly booming with asks and confessions, I figured now was as good a time as any to create a little disclaimer/about thing for the blog in the form of a FAQ.

001. Who runs the blog?

That would be me, Admin H! I have an insane love for Gossip Girl and because of that, we decided that I'd be the best person to run it. I've run several gossip/confessions blogs in the past and I always have so much fun with it.

002. So are you answering asks as yourself, or...?

When creating a gossip blog, I like to consider it as taking on another character. I've chosen Taylor Momsen as my mascot to pay homage to Gossip Girl -- and plus, how cute does she look on the dash? -- and I call my "character" X. She is the eyes and ears of the ship, and I run the gossip blog as if she is sitting behind the computer screen handling everything herself. Like any other Sunburst employee, X has her ships, her favorites, her not-so-favorites -- I've even written up a backstory for her.

003. Okay, so you said this really harsh thing about ___. What gives?

As I mentioned above, everything on this blog is In Character. Anything that X says about another character should not be taken to heart. Again, she is going to choose favorite employees and people to pick on, just like everyone else on the ship. I also must add that everything on this blog -- photos, gossip, asks, confessions -- are all member submitted. I don't really like the idea of sending in things myself just because I don't want to give people the wrong idea or make them think I'm trying to make my own character look good, or whatever. The point is -- I want you to know that any sort of "bitchy" comment X makes about your character, or any not-so-nice confession that is sent in about them is all in the spirit of character development. I can't speak for everyone else in the RP, but I absolutely adore every single person's character here. That being said, if you'd like me to refrain from publishing any confessions or gossip about your character, just shoot me a message off anon and anything about them will get deleted. I don't want this blog, which is just for fun, to be the reason you choose to leave the RP.

004. How do you know what is gossip and what should be made into a confession?

That's where you come in, my friend. I've asked this numerous times and I'm pleased that more people are starting to catch on because I'm not the best at phrasing things, but here goes: To submit an ask or anything you want X to publish, please preface whatever you're saying with "gossip:". Alternatively, when you'd like to make a confession, preface what you'd like me to put on the photo with "confession:". I really hope this made sense, because I'd hate to make a confession for something you want X to comment on, or have her answer something you wanted made into a confession.

005. Is there anything you won't publish?

99 percent of everything that comes into the ask box will be posted on the blog. Anything that's so nasty I can't bear to look at it, much less publish it (ie: ___ should just off themselves.) will not be published. Any hate towards the people behind the character also will not be published, because the gossip blog is IC, which means there's no room here for OOC drama. If you are having problems with another mun, we advise you to message the main off anon and speak with us about it.

006. How does spotted/blasts work?

First things first, when you'd like to send in a photo -- through the submit, of course -- please make sure you'd checked in with any involved players to ensure that any "secrets" can be divulged. When submitting the photo, you have the option to throw in a caption. I might reword it so it sounds like X is reporting it, but the concept will remain the same. Here is an example, involving Brooke and Evie, a past character in this RP. It was submitted by Admin B, who is Brooke's mun. Spotted/blast posts don't need a photo! If you'd like to send something in sans-picture, send us an ask that says "spotted:" or "blast:" followed by whatever you want to say. X will then create a post centered around the thing you sent in. It might sound something like this once X puts her twist on it.

Ask - Spotted: Rhys and Stevie dancing at the ball. Post - "Spotted: Our very own resident goofball was seen getting hot and heavy with his best friend, Miss Stevie P, at the annual Captain's Ball. Sources say that these two have been playing with fire for a while now. And with these mischievous ones involved, somebody is bound to get burned. Someone snag that extinguisher. This one's gonna be a scorcher."

007. Can I use some of the stuff on here as a resource on the dash?

Absolutely! Anyone who follows this blog is considered one of X's "readers", which means that anything she posts or answers, or any confessions made, would be read by the characters themselves.
