Sun Spirit Evolution

First, I would like to apologize for not having written a post about the partnering signs as of yet. I tend to write when the inspiration strikes, and the inspiration has alluded me in that area as of late. I will do a write up eventually though, I promise. Instead, I thought we could take a look into the world of outer planets, as I do believe everyone has been feeling their energy quite strongly. Especially with Pluto transiting Capricorn now that big daddy Saturn as come into the mix.

The outer planets are Pluto, Uranus and Neptune. In certain factions of astrology we are told that these planets are not as important to us on an individual level, but instead mark the energies of a generation. Outer planets are often downplayed as to their impact on an individual. Personally, I see them as our ultimate guides, providing much insight as to who we are on a grander scale, and how we wish to grow in this life. They are always trying to guide us back to Source. Always reminding us that we are not merely a grain of sand. We are but a single grain that makes up a desert. They are our biggest transformers and mind openers, and what keep us ever evolving.

So what is Pluto?

Pluto represents our soul’s desire in our birth chart. As is everything in the Universe, desire is dualistic. One side of desire wishes to experience life as an egocentric individual, the other side wishes to unite with Source. It is the risk (or perhaps the consequence), that with desire comes attachment. This is why Pluto is often associated with obsession. Desire is what built the world we live in. A desire for knowledge, a desire to procreate, a desire to create, love... These desires are what give life meaning, and so they give us, as an egocentric being, meaning. The issue becomes when we begin to identify with these desires we have formed attachments to. We become these ideas, philosophies, successes, relationships, etc. of which we desired to express, and in effect forget that unique part of ourselves that is connected to Source. We also develop the tendency to never move beyond that point as it has become our comfort zone, our sense of security. It would seem the ultimate goal is to have desire without attachment, but until we have mastered that, Pluto, having given birth to these desires is also tasked to strip it away, causing us to go within in order to process the loss. Pluto’s destruction often leaves us solitary, to question why, who we are without these desires, and what meaning is left? In doing so we rebirth a new ego, with new desires, hopefully with a little less attachment and little more guided by Source.

The following is a list of what one may experience as Pluto transits their houses. I do believe this also applies to your natal Pluto placement. You can be the judge of that. Let me preface this with the fact that some of us will experience the full intensity of Pluto’s teachings, while others may just feel its breeze as it passes. It all depends on the sign, house placement and aspects to Pluto.

PLUTO TRANSITING THE 1st HOUSE

Pluto moving through the first house is all about making new discoveries, desires, and new areas of action in relation to the self. These new discoveries may come from an extreme separation from the past, while others may only have to release outmoded attitudes, approaches, reactions or responses. Some may experience these changes through an identity crisis, forcing the individual to go within and listen to their gut instinct as to the best course of action for them. If there is an area of life that is limiting self growth, it will be tested at this time. This can often manifest through relationships and partnerships of all kinds. If restriction is being placed on the individual, they will either break free from the situation, or it will be forced away from them. If one has a supportive partner who encourages their growth, the individual may be challenged by t ahe prospect of commitment. Anger can often come to the surface during this period due to feelings of restriction. When feelings of anger and aggression are felt during this period, it is best to examine from where it stems, as some of it may be repressed from long ago. So know that if you are experiencing this from yourself, or others onto you, it is your chance to resolve and release it. We may find old lovers or friends reemerge at this time to prompt new discoveries in the areas of our inner dynamics and needs. In general one will attract those that reflect their unmet desires and needs. On the positive side, one will also encounter individuals who are very supportive of their growth. Instinct will guide you during this period, and impatience is quite likely due to this, as one will know that change is on the horizon, but what it is will not be known until we are well on our journey.

PLUTO TRANSITING THE 2nd HOUSE

Pluto moving through the second house brings a reevaluation of one’s value system, which transforms how they relate to themselves and others. This is brought about through a loss of personal meaning, which leads to intense self-examination. The things which once brought value to ourselves and our lives now seem obsolete. Our value systems are unique, so this will manifest differently for everyone. For example, as the second house represents our personal resources, we discover new resources from within that enable us to find a new means of making a living, or be able to add new life into our existing career. This may come about as we either no longer relate to what it is we do, or we suddenly lose a job that was no longer suited for us. If resistance to change occurs, there may be loss of resources, possessions, money, support, or anything that provides physical sustainment, including partnerships. One may go through periods of isolation during this time while trying to gain meaning from the loss. This offers a great period of growth as we not only are able develop and refine our values, and therefore our sense of meaning, but it encourages us to become self-reliant, self-contained and self-sustained. Loss may also occur at this time if there has been a misuse of resources, or if there are latent talents, needs or capacities which must come to the surface in order to be utilized or acknowledged. Some may be lucky enough to be reaping rewards for sustained prior efforts at this time, which will relate to their value system. Even the rewards, however, will leave us to examine how meaningful they truly are. I have been going through this transit for some time now, and it has definitely been difficult. Through the feelings of meaninglessness and self-evaluation, I discovered a new way of seeing myself and my true value, and have developed a new trust in the Universe that I will always be sustained regardless of what comes and goes in life. So do not resist Pluto’s desire to eliminate old value systems, as the reward is always a more confident and strong soul.

PLUTO TRANSITING THE 3rd HOUSE

Pluto transiting the third house wishes to eliminate outmoded patterns of thought and opinions. It is time to expand your mental horizons by discovering the basis of intellectual attitudes and assumptions. It is in this way you will be able to expand your understanding of yourself and life. This may manifest through others who disagree with your opinions, forcing you to perceive things in a different way. One may also experience a change in life which makes them reflect on their life views, or why it is they have these ideas on the nature of things. One may become intellectually bored or restricted at this time, prompting them to find new experiences which garner new ideas or knowledge. If we do not resist this desire for expansion, everything we learn from our external environment will transform our inner world, allowing for new perspectives, understandings and beliefs. It is possible that during this exploration we come across feelings of insecurity as what we have known becomes challenged, as well as a possibility of exploring so many different ideas that we never build a foundation for a new way of thinking. If you experience this, remember to remain open to the variety of ways of thinking or areas of study that exist, but once you have found one that resonates with you, keep your focus more toward that as the basis of your new interests and ideas. Scattering your energies in too many directions will only lead to more confusion, and create inconsistent perspectives. One may also travel at this time which will open them to new experiences, ways of living, thinking and ideals.

PLUTO TRANSITING THE 4th HOUSE

Pluto transiting the fourth house desires a transformation of inner/emotional securities, dependencies, feelings and self-image. It is through the release of old emotional patterns, and external dependencies, that we redefine our securities and sense of self. This can be a difficult period as our old sense of securities that are limiting our growth fall away, it seems as if our foundation is crumbling beneath us. We often are left with what seems like only ourselves, and this is an integral part of the transformation, as it forces us within to examine how our self-image has been conditioned, and how to build a new self-image. It is not uncommon to experience upheavals in emotional and external circumstances during this period. There may be issues at, or loss of home, work, partnership or family. These occurrences are meant to have us look at how we have put our lives together, and for what purpose. How is this connected to our emotional security and self-image? If we have developed dependencies on certain things or people as a means to make us feel emotionally secure, it is time for these things to be released in order to establish new emotional patterns and attitudes that reflect a more positive self-image, which begins with feelings of emotional security from the self. We may find emotional needs or responses come forth through these experiences that have been repressed or ignored. Regardless, emotions during this time are strong and meant to be felt to their fullest as they reveal old or unconscious ways of responding which must be transformed. There may be a sense of emotional stagnation leading to reflections on the past. This allows for an examination of the situations and circumstances which brought them to this point, and discover the inner conditions which caused it.

PLUTO TRANSITING THE 5th HOUSE

Pluto transiting the fifth house calls for us to learn to take charge of our own reality, and recreate that which we know to refelect the budding creative impulses that exist in the soul, which will relate to our life’s purpose. During this time one may become rather self-focused, and begin to question why and how they have been giving to others, as well as the basis of their own needs to be loved, admired and seen as important. If previously self-consumed, one may find they must eliminate this focus for new creative desires to be expressed. Regardless of the state in which we begin, deep emotional surges of inspiration, feelings and desires will push us toward creating a new reality. By following our new creative urges and allowing direction from external forces (or the Universe), we are able to take charge of our destinies and recreate ourselves based on our soul’s new urgings. There may be preconceived notions about what we had considered our destined paths that must be eliminated or altered during our journey. If we refuse to flow with the tides of change, and see the new potentials that exist within us, creative blocks will persist, and our new self expressions and realities will struggle to emerge. Thus, take the time during this transit to discover who you are on both an egoic and soul level, and create a new way in which to express it.

PLUTO TRANSITING THE 6th HOUSE

Pluto transiting the sixth house requires a deep healing of the soul, and personal improvement. As the sixth house marks the last house of “the self” before it moves on to the houses of “the other”, it is in this house we discover through introspection what areas of our lives and being that must be altered and improved so we may express our best selves out in the world and with others. Due to this, we experience much self-criticism, doubt, and feelings of inadequacey, which then get reflected in our external environment. This creates an inner crisis which is needed in order to drop preconceived ideas, beliefs and attitudes that have stunted us from further growth. If we resist the release of these old mental constructs, we become wrought with anxiety and irritability, which will then manifest in the physical body. We can also experience criticisms from others, or issues with work. It is important to not take the stance of a victim in negative situations, as the outer environment is being a reflection of the inner, and so these circumstances are asking us to look deeper as to what we must change. If we choose to participate in this cleanse, we will emerge with new approaches, attitudes, and a renewed vitality for life.

New Moon In Capricorn

All of the energy we have been experiencing in Capricorn and Scorpio lately can be rather intense and repressive, but this new moon is offering a solid foundation for new growth and beginnings. With Venus sitting next to the moon, we are asked to take a more serious look at the things we love and are passionate about expressing and creating in our lives. Uranus in Aries will be squaring Venus, the moon, Pluto and the sun in Capricorn at the same time. This may give us a push pull feeling as we have been on a path of self discovery, and Uranus in Aries wishes to express its nature in the way it wants, and so we may find ourselves questioning how to do so in our existing paradigm. We may also be impatient in wanting things to manifest, and when we do not see things come to fruition right away it could lead to fear that we are doing the wrong things.

There is great support in being able to understand yourself, your path and the steps you need to take by tuning in to your intuition with Mercury in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter and Mars in Scorpio sextiling the same planets Uranus squares. Do not fear that there is not a place for you in the current paradigm, with Pluto in Capricorn the current paradigm is changing, so release what no longer nourishes your inner world.

If we utilize the energies right, we can take it as a confident push forward in creating a solid foundation that resonates more deeply with who we are, and nurtures us on a more emotional and deeper level. Remember to be patient. Capricorn reaches success through continuous and diligent effort. So take all of that passion for action, make a plan, and act on it one step at a time.

So I spent some time writing up the second half of this blog, only to have the entire thing disappear when I went to schedule the post. Hopefully I do not miss much of what I had written, and I apologize if I do because there was some insightful stuff there. That being said, on with the lesson…

Every chart holds 12 houses in astrology, and each house outlines an area of progress in the life of the protagonist (the protagonist in the case of examining your own natal chart being you). The bottom half of the chart (houses 1-6) represent the self and the inner world (or soul). The top half of the chart (houses 7-12) represent the outer world or other (or the collective). Now let us peer into the journey of the natal chart by examining the architypes of the houses.

The Houses

FIRST HOUSE The first house represents self-actualization. In the journey of life, it is here we begin to develop and discover our personalities through action. The sign governing this house is known as the rising sign, and it is the veil through which we express our planets. It is the physical body; one’s approach to life; discovering one’s individual way; and the natural persona that is seen by others.

SECOND HOUSE The second house is where we begin to determine what is valued through tangible things, and the truth of how these effect our sense of self-value. It is resources; values; material security; possessions; the experience of nature and connection to the earth; sensual enjoyment of material things; productivity and expenditure; self-confidence or lack of; and proving one’s self (or proving one’s value).

THIRD HOUSE The third house represents the stage where through our questionings, we are able to gain understanding of the relationships between things, as well as our relationship to these things. It is the rational mind; the exchange of information; all forms of language and communication; learning; shock; the unexpected; improvisation; and reaction.

FOURTH HOUSE The fourth house is where we find our sense of emotional security that comes from our deep inner-self. It is our inner world; the home; one’s personal roots; family and emotional security; the private; the need for domestic tranquility; the experience of community; radical commitment; and traditionally represents the mother.

FIFTH HOUSE The fifth house is our need to creatively express who we are (our ego) to the world. It is all forms of creativity and self-expression; the projection of self onto the stage of life; the sense of identity; energy expenditure and vitality; the need for pleasure; play; love affairs; courtship; traditionaly represents children; and performance. SIXTH HOUSE The sixth house is where we begin to analyse the self in order to heal existing wounds. It is through healing we learn self love, and are able to express the ultimate versions of ourselves. To be our best for others, we must first become the best ourselves. Before we can love others, we must learn to love ourselves. This is the last house transitioning from the self to the other, from the inner to the outer. It is the developement of efficiency and proficiency through engaging the practical; material challenges posed by the world; the refinement of self-expression; duties and skills; mentoring and being mentored; the urge to be competent; helpfulness; everyday work; habbits and hobbies; and self-sufficiency.

SEVENTH HOUSE The seventh house is our first experience with the other and the outer world. It is our first taste of seeing ourselves reflected by another. It is all forms of close relationships; coming to awareness through others; intamicy; commitment; relationships based on equality; negotiation; and compromise.

EIGHTH HOUSE The eighth house is where we experience deep union with others. If thinking in terms of romance, it is the phase of the relationship in which the honeymoon is over and the deep, dark truths of the other, and in extension the self, are revealed. It is through these revelations that we experience the beauty of transformation. It is all forms of union: emotional, sexual, financial; the challenge of merging with another in relationship; transformation; issues of power and control; the expereince of ego-death and dying; social taboos; the occult; the repressed and perinatal unconscious; regenration of the self through experiencing the values of the other; others’ resources, money and possessions; instincts; wounds; everything psychologically charged; sexual bonding; and in the words of Steven Forrest, “the house that makes you make animal noises.” That is to say, noises that are universally understood, such as sighs, screams and moans. *wink*

NINTH HOUSE In the ninth house we journey in the search for answers to our new truths, and in doing so generate philosophies about ourselves, others and the world. If we remain open in our quest, great wisdom is revealed. It is the relationship of the self to the wider world; meaning and world view; gaining a broader perspective on one’s life through travel, study, and living abroad; the exposure to different cultural perspectives; the search for one’s own truth-philosophy; higher education and learning; values; and life as a quest.

TENTH HOUSE The tenth house is the outer world (or collective) and the paradigm that governs it. It is our first experience of integrating ourselves within the paradigm, finding our place in the collective, and leaving our mark. It is worldy acheivement; personal and professional ambition; one’s public role and public life; the social persona; one’s contribution to the collective through a particular vocation or calling; reputation; and traditionally represents the father.

ELEVENTH HOUSE The eleventh house is where we wish to liberate from constraints. This is the stage, that through the connection of mind and heart, we come to understand that unique part of ourselves that is an aspect of creation, and what its purpose is within the collective. It is the working toward this realization with a sense of non-attachment as to how we may be perceived, that new social structures, groups and paradigms are built. It is one’s individual purpose within the larger collective or social group; participation in movements; associations and groups with common aims; the social circle and groups of friends; goals; strategies; development over time; allies; tribal experience; teamwork; and networking.

TWELFTH HOUSE The twelfth house is the final stage of our journey before we begin again. If the eleventh house is liberation, the twelfth is transendence. It is where we take all of our knowledge and healing, and we finally see the larger picture that was once clouded. It is the point we see through illusion, we see ultimate truths, and through non-attachment we are able to experience unconditional love of not only the self, but the other/collective as well. It is transcendece or dissolution of the ego; mysticism and personal sacrifice; acting as a conduit or vessel of the transpersonal or the collective unconscious; myth; dreams; fantasy; arts and imagination; isolation; withdrawal; the growth of awareness through solitude or privation; spiritual life and behind the sences activities; the hidden; institutions in which the ego is rendered powerless; the end of a cycle and beginning of a new one; returning to the cosmic womb; the dimension of life “beyond” our world; release; psychic experience; and necessary losses.

Now you are equipped with some of the architypes surrounding the houses. If you cross-reference these with my previous post speaking to the architypes of the signs, you will be able to have a greater understanding of how the houses influence your planets, and how the signs influence the houses. You will also notice patterns or similarities between the signs and houses they govern.

To give an idea on how to interpret someone’s planets, let us use the sun in Virgo in the ninth house. Someone with this placement could be seen as a person who garners joy from learning (ninth house) about the self (the sun). If we go one step further, through analysis of the self (sun in Virgo), this person is able to find answers which contribute to their philosophies of themselves and how they relate to the world (ninth house). If we wish to go even further by incorporating partnering signs/houses, this person will come by these answers by first questioning (third house) illusions (Pisces) they hold about themselves. Upon seeing the reality (Virgo) of these illusions, and analysing the wounds caused by them in order to heal them, they are able to create new philosohpies for and of the self, and gain a greater wisdom of themselves and their relation to the collective. If we wished to go even further, we can begin to look at how Sagittarius and Gemini square Virgo and Pisces, which create challenges and can show wounds that need to be addressed in the chart. We can also address the need to communicate these philosophies, and the need to help others on their life’s journey through their learnings. We can also look at how aspects to the sun influence the expression of that planet, and so on and so forth. I will leave it as is for now, as I would like to move on the partnering signs in my next entry, but you can see how complex and in depth astrology can really get. Far more deep than you cry a lot because you are a Cancer, or you will marry rich because your venus is in your tenth house (I wish though).

I would like to speak about partnering signs and the importance of balancing their energies in an effort to “master” the natal chart. We must first look at the foundations of astrology in order to begin to understand the true complexities that exist within it, and therefore, within ourselves. It will aslo provide insight as to why, for example, you will find some Aries who are very partner oriented, and some Libras who are quite flighty, preferring not to unite. So today I will touch upon the architypes of the signs and houses. Understanding these architypes will provide the starting point into a greater wisdom of the zodiac. So let’s get into it.

The Signs

ARIES (I am) Ruler of the first house, its element is fire, its mode is cardinal, and its planet is Mars. Aries is the self. Its qualities are self assertion; impulsive; initiatory; direct; decisive; agressive; headstrong; impatient; and action oriented.

TAURUS (I have) Ruler of the second house, its element is earth, its mode is fixed, and its planet is Venus. Taurus is the truth and value we gain from the external. It is grounded; persistent; possessive; inflexible; materialisitic; slow in nature; sensual; tactile; beauty-loving; and concerened with physical security.

GEMINI (I think) Ruler of third house, its element is air, its mode is mutable, and its planet is Mercury. Gemini is the question. It is inquisitive as it must question everything. It is perceptive; communicative; quick; lighthearted; scattered in attention; superficial; changable; of the mind; and holds a breadth of interest and knowledge.

CANCER (I feel) Ruler of the fourth house, its element is water, its mode is cardinal, and its planet is the Moon. Cancer is the inner world. It is sensitive; emotional; nurturing; gentle; dependent; sentimental; vulnerable; reticent; and concerned with emotional security.

LEO (I create) Ruler of the fifth house, its element is fire, its mode is fixed, and its planet is the Sun. Leo is the heart. It is creative; noble; enduring; dominant; prideful; egotism; self-importance; dramatic self-expression; and holds the urge for recognition of the self.

VIRGO (I serve) Ruler of the sixth house, its element is earth, its mode is mutable, and its planet is Mercury. Virgo is reality. It is discrimminating; industrious; analytical; meticulous; detail-oriented; holds a critical-eye; self-effacing; self-reliant; realistic; practical; and healing.

LIBRA (We are) Ruler of the seventh house, its element is air, its mode is cardinal, and its planet is Venus. Libra is the other. It is relationship-oriented; fair-minded; diplomatic; harmonious; aesthetic; striving for balance; rational; vain; and indecisive.

SCORPIO (We have) Ruler of the eighth house, its element is water, its mode is fixed, and its anchient planet is Mars, and modern planet is Pluto. Scorpio is the truth and beauty we gain from the depths of the internal. It is emotionally-intense; penetrating; insinctual; intuitive; desiring; driven; holds the urge to transform; brooding; compulsive; secretive; controlling; self-destructive; and regenerating.

SAGITTARIUS (We think) Ruler of the ninth house, its element is fire, its mode is mutable, and its planet is Jupiter. Sagittarius is the answer. It is thruth-seeking; enthusiastic; expansive; open; philisophical; aspiring; adventurous; blundering; indifferent; over-extended; generalizing; and self-righteous.

CAPRICORN (We feel) Ruler of the tenth house, its element is earth, its mode is cardinal, its planet is Saturn. Capricorn is the outer world. It is hard-working; ambitious; practical; self-controlled; responsible; dutiful; acheivement-oriented; concerned with status or its place in the outside world; traditional; conservative; restrained; and somber.

AQUARIUS (We create) Ruler of the eleventh house, its element is air, its mode is fixed, its anchient planet is Saturn, and modern planet is Uranus. Aquarius is the mind. It is seen as the rebel of the zodiac as it is meant to liberate from constraints. It is humanitarian; group-oriented; eccentric; individualistic; freedom-loving; sociable; friendly; aloof; and detached.

PISCES (We serve) Ruler of the twelfth house, its element is water, its mode is mutable, its anchient planet is Jupiter, and modern planet is Neptune. Pisces is illusion, and the transendence of illusion. It is compassionate; imaginative; inspired; psychic; idealistic; escapist; dreamy; naive; confused; deceptive; unrealistic; unconditional love; and healing.

This entry is becoming a bit longer than anticipated, so I will be splitting up the signs and houses. Looking at your natal chart, use the information discussed thus far to see how the signs’ architypes influence your planets. I will post the architypes of the houses within a week.

Although the information above is just scratching the surface, I hope I can help you on your journey of discovery.

Today we experience the first of two important eclipses in the month of August. With the full moon eclipse in Aquarius, we are being called to release old fears and perceptions related to societal paradigms. We may have experienced, and will continue to experience, situations in which we feel old fears based on our belief systems that hold us back from taking action in the direction that our hearts know to be true for us. We may feel that our freedom to move is empeeded due to what we percieve to be external conditions, but are infact old internal wounds.

Full Moon in Capricorn and Its Lesson Regarding the Aquarius Age

This is a powerful one, as the moon will be conjunct Pluto. This presents an opprtunity to release old emotional attachements. Through this release, we are able to transform our fears and past structures of our inner and outer worlds, and find a new sense of security and stability. This is yet another in the long line of lessons as we move into the age of Aquarius. Here we are presented with the opportunity to let go of the fears of the unknown, and open up to a willingness to live a new paradigm--a new structure where your securities are found in places that may have previsouly seemed foreign to you.

Aquarius being ruled by Saturn and Uranus represent both structure and discipline, and the authentic expression of the self as part of creation. On the more “negative” end of that energy, Saturn and Uranus can represt fear and rebellion for the sake of being rebellious. This is a time period in which we will be choosing what polarity of the energies of Aquarius we will bring with us into the new age.

Fear is a structure that has become part of our everyday life, and this fear can hold us back from connecting with our authenticity as we may not wish to go against what is considered a societal norm. This is an old structure of Aquarius being ruled by Saturn and Uranus, but we are moving away from this old structure toward a new one where we no longer hold ourselves back for fear of judgement or loss of security. The North Node in Leo at this time is calling us to re-connect to our hearts so we may once more get in touch with our soul and its desires. When we release fear we are able to take these lessons, apply what we have learned about ourselves through our hearts (Leo), and connect it with our heads so that we may live concsiously as ourselves and build a new structure with others that is more aligned with who we are (Aquarius). With Mars in Cancer and Neptune retrograde in Pisces as well, there is a theme of self-love, nurturance and healing present. To live in complete authenticity takes self-love, as we are no longer looking for acceptance from outside ourselves, but before we can come to love ourselves, we must know and understand ourselves and love. Venus in Gemini will bring new areas of knowledge and understanding in this area. The North Node in Leo will ask us to find our true loving confident expression, and create a new way of seeing ourselves. Mars in Cancer asks us to act to find our comfort, to understand our needs and find a balance where we can return to self-nurturing. Neptune retograde in Pisces is having us look back on old illusions we hold in regards to our insecurities and unconditional love so that they can be healed.

On June 9th, we will be graced by the full moon in Sagittarius. This one is special as Sagittarius’ ruler, Jupiter, will be moving direct in Libra on the same day. The moon will also be conjunct Saturn, opposite the Sun in Gemini, trine both Uranus in Aries and Venus in Taurus, and squaring Neptune. That is a lot of energy to contend with. So what are we looking at? We have reached a point in our journey where we are able to come to an understanding of all that we have experienced in these past couple of years, and where it is we are being led on our new journey.

There is a call to evaluate our beliefs about ourselves, and the things we value and love in life. There is still work to be done in these areas, but we have profound knowing that all we have worked so hard for, all that we have learned about ourselves, is opening us up to greater wisdom and a great adventure.

Having the Moon and Saturn both squaring Neptune, we may have lingering feelings of fear of the unknown and what is to come, and we may even feel locked into a paradigm we cannot escape. This is only an illusion, however. If there are feelings of fear, restriction, or self-doubt, this is the perfect moon to examine why it is you hold those beliefs to be true in order to heal and release them.

This is only the beginning of our redefinition of love as Mars in Cancer opposes Saturn in Sagittarius at the same time it is conjunct the moon. Every sign has its wounds. We know this by the presence of Chiron through the Zodiac. To discover where a planet’s challenges and areas of growth are we start by looking at both the sign the planet is in, its opposite sign, and the signs squaring it. This shows opportunities for learning and growth. Mars being ruled by Aries, is a planet of outward force represting action and aggression. The Moon, ruled by Cancer, is a planet represting one’s inner world and emotions. Cancer rules the 4th house of what we consider home, family, the mother and the private areas of our life. It’s opposite sign is Capricorn, ruling the 10th house, represnting our outter world, the father, and career. They square Libra, ruler of the 7th house of partnership, love and the other, and Aries, ruler of the 1st house representing the self. Cancer/Aries combinations, whether Mars in Cancer or Moon in Aries, wish to be loved by the other and experience emotional connection. With Mars in Cancer now, when emotional needs are not met, when we do not feel loved or emotionally nurtured, or feel threatened or abandoned, we may have a tendency to very quickly shift our inner emotional wounds (Cancer), to our outter world (Capricorn) in a very impulsive, aggressive, over-reactionary way (Aries), and place blame on the other (Libra) for what we are feeling. Having Jupiter in Libra at this time squaring Mars in Cancer, which is also speaking to the Moon and Saturn, and squaring Pluto in Capricorn, this is also a time of learning what these emotional triggers are, and to begin to change how we deal with our emotions and others.
