but of course! i love this idea!

Wesley personally doesn't really venture outside of Nel'Vari, and that includes even the forest around him. He's too busy for it, anyway.

But then you arrived. You found your way through the forest (somehow) and didn't leave. Well, you did leave to do more exploring, to do more heroic things like try and save your hometown and its people (okay, not even Wesley can be annoyed at you for that).

Actually, after a few conversations he didn't blow off, he began to know you, and was surprised you weren't totally despicable. Slowly, he began to like you. Even if he didn't like to leave his town or explore, he secretly admired you for it.

It became hard to deny he was catching feelings for you. Especially since you flirted with him so boldly. It was just something else for him to admire, but trying to hide his blush was just another piece of work.

So, anyway, he was used to your exploring and unpredictable schedule. There was no reason for him to worry about you, especially not since he saw time and time again how heroic you were.

So when the elves hurriedly started a rescue mission for someone found injured in the woods, you were the last person he expected to be pulled out of the forest.

It was almost a coincidence that he saw it was you. He'd been trying to work but the tavern was too busy with all the rumors. He was just on his way home, a two-minute walk, when he noticed your unconscious form.

He was too shocked to really react. He didn't believe it. You were so strong, you spent so much time in those woods. What had happened? His eyes followed you, only noticing the tears in your clothes and the blood staining them.

He felt like he couldn't breathe. He felt all surrounding eyes on him. What was he to do? He just turned around and hurried to his home.

He'd try and get the planned work done, but even he finds it hard to concentrate, not knowing if you're going to be alright. So he ends up just being frustrated with himself.

In the evening, he'd finally allow himself to go check on you. It's hesitantly because he doesn't like the not knowing, but if knowing means being devastated... It's a tough choice and he is slightly terrified. Not that it shows, not that he'd ever tell you.

When the doctors tell him that with time, you'd be alright, it's like he can breathe again. A huge weight is lifted off him and he's a little more optimistic about seeing you.

You couldn't be happier to see him, even though you're under a lot of pain medication and are a little droopy. Seeing you, and seeing you smile brings him such a relief that he can finally admit to himself that yes, he might love you. He's about to ask you on a date right then and there, but remembers the blood he saw, and figures that's for another day.

Of course!!! I have to admit I'm not super close with Wesley yet in my own game, but I hope I did him justice!

After months in Nel'Vari, the elven city began to feel like a second home. It was a gorgeous place that still felt magical. You remained amazed by the crops, the plants, the fish, the animal, and certainly it's people.

Most had been happy to invite you in, if not just curious about who managed to find the elven city. A few people were hesitant, and a small handful seemed simply irritated by your existence.

One of those people was Wesley. It had been hard, especially since he was Elder Gorwin's assistant. You wanted him to like you. Elder Gorwin liked you, so why shouldn't his assistant?

Only recently, he'd started warming up to you, after Nivara's final lesson and you were glad for it. At first, you'd just wanted to be liked, but once he seemed to accept you in Nel'Vari, you began to like him, too. He was interesting, and while his values were what made him distrusting of you, the more you got to know him, the more they made sense and the more you could appreciate them.

Slowly, you became closer. You'd even call the two of you friends, especially since you found out how much he loves honey and you started bringing him fresh honey from your farm. Perhaps he would call you a friend, too.

Lately, you were beginning to doubt your feelings for Wesley were strickly platonically. You looked forward to every visit. So much so that you were more in Nel'Vari than in Sun haven, despite your work there piling up.

It was difficult to stay away, even though days in Nel'Vari were often slower. You liked seeing Wesley when you ran errands, and you liked to have the option to search him up for a chat or a shared drink in the tavern.

It was difficult to be away from him, because somehow, your mind always returned to him.

It was distracting and confusing, especially since you'd finally bumped your way up to 'friend'. Could you ever be more to him?

You began to think that you would like to be more than friends when you were farming, and your mind drifted to Wesley. Specifically to kissing Wesley. It was a thought that made you blush, and the possibility of Wesley kissing you made your head spin and your heart ache.

You wanted to kiss him, if only to see if it felt right. Your friendship was still so delicate, that the thought of flirting with Wesley made your heart pound and your palms sweat. But you knew it was up to him. Waiting for Wesley would mean waiting forever, and you could not spend so much time in uncertainty.

You could hardly say you had a 'plan', unless you called getting kinda drunk and trying to flirt a plan.

It was late one fall evening when you collected a few fresh pots of honey and flew to Nel'Vari. With confidence you didn't feel, you walked up to the tavern and ordered two honeydews. You finished one and took the second one to Wesley's table.

"I thought you were going to ignore me tonight," he said when you joined him.

"you're not that lucky," you said, offering him a smile. "But you're a little lucky. I brought you honey."

When you placed multiple jars on the table, his eyes got big. "Is there some sort of special occasion I forgot?" He asked, looking at the jars. You had to admit you'd outdone yourself. For Wesley, you always made the jars look nice, but this time you'd spent a couple of hours attaching flowers to the jar and infusing them with your own mana so they'd stay fresh.

"No, I just wanted to do something nice," you pushed the jars over to him, taking a long sip of your honeybrew before looking at him again.

Wesley truly looked amazing. His hair was a rich green, no matter the weather always clean and tamed. He smiled very little, but his features looked exceptional anyway. "Y/', You're looking at me funny."

You smiled, despite the nerves you' d felt coming in the tavern. It was just Wesley. You were friends. You liked him. He liked you. "I'm just looking at you, silly," he made a 'hmp' noise, but that wasn't enough for you. "I like looking at you."

You followed the statement with a big sip from your beverage, daring a glance at him over the edge of your cup. He was blushing. Welsey was actually blushing because of you.

Something fluttered in your stomach, and your breath caught for a moment. You had to tear your eyes away from him. "Well, I..." he tried to regain composure, but so did you.

"Need another drink? I'm buying." You took your empty cup and got ready to go to Slate.

Half mumbling, he accepted. When you joined him again, your hands were sweaty, and Wesley' s cheeks were still tinted. You wondered if that's a good sign.

"I've been meaning to ask you," you started, fingers tightening around your drink. "Have you ever dated someone? With being the next Elder and stuff."

He looked a little shocked, which was clear in the way his voice raised. "What kind of question is that? If you must know, I've always been incredibly busy. Too busy to worry myself with dating."

"Come on," you tried, attempting your best charm. "I can hardly believe no one's ever wanted to date you."

"Well, I don't- it's not like I go around to ask people that. Besides, I've never liked someone enough to care."

"Alright, Wes, you can calm down, it was just a question," you chuckled nervously. Was it obvious you were nervous? "I just ask because I know someone who's interested in... Dating you."

"Whoever told you that, you can tell them I'm not," he said, waving your story away. Had he really not understood what you meant? You thought you'd been clear in the way you spoke and looked and acted. "You're looking funny at me again." he said, at, which you gave him another look that you hoped explained the situation.

It took a long moment, but at, last, his eyes widened. "Oh, you're talking-you mean that you are-" he stopped for a moment. "Y/n, are you trying to seduce me?"

You laughed softly at the way he said it, some of your nerves dying. "Depends. Are you seductable?"

His face heated again, the blush spreading to the tips of his ears. "I- Well, no, but... Maybe for you, I'll make an exception."

You forgot how to breathe for a moment. That was a yes. At least a yes for you. Somehow, you hadn't expected it.

"That's... Great news," you smiled, uncertain what to do next. We're you supposed to ask him on a date? Just kiss him, maybe? No, you were both too flushed for it. "I'm sorry, I'm obviously thrilled, just a little unsure of what to do next. My wildest dreams never even made it to this point."

"You've been dreaming about me?"

"Daydreaming, yeah," you admitted, feeling strangely vulnerable admitting it. "Why do you think I've been in Nel'Vari so much? I just want to see you every day."

When you dated to glance up at him, he looked at loss for words. You felt the same, and opted for a shy smile.

"I'd certainly like to see you even more, too," he said softly, looking down at his hands. "Maybe you could come to my house tomorrow? We could enjoy these honeys together."

it’s been very hot here so the inspiration for this is obvious. i still have to add kai and wesley, but i’m not far enough into my friendship with them to confidently write this for them yet. will come soon!

Claude

Summer’s too hot for him, he is not a fan. The heat smothers his creativity, he says.

Claude can’t handle heat very well. He gets unwell easy and sweats a lot. Still, he likes to keep to a routine and doesn’t change his afternoon errand run to fit the warm weather. He often ends up dehydrated or almost fainting when the day is especially hot.

The result is that you have to look after him a bit more than usual. You like o deliver fresh crops and meals, just so you know he has something to eat in case he can’t finish his errands because of the heat. It is a labor you do out of love.

(And it’s a labor he loves you even more for.)

While he’s constantly hot and has little to do, you won’t find Claude at the beach often. He doesn’t like the sand and he doesn’t like swimming. If you do, it will take some convincing to get him to join you. You’ll have a great time if he does, though. He’ll walk along the shore with you, and keep the shells you give him forever.

Xyla

The carnival is very dear to her. She's extremely proud of it, and, almost secretly loves any praise she gets for it. So it's not much of a surprise that you can find her there almost every day.

She likes relaxing after her work, and nothing is as relaxing as winning. She loves challenging you at all sorts of carnival games. She's had years of practice and will win most of the times.

Don't even think she'll go easy on you. Her second favorite thing is rubbing her win in.

The only game she's never won is the strength meter. How could she win from you, someone who spends most time plowing through earth and carrying heavy water cans? Still, she challenges you to it every time.

(It's because she likes how strong you are, and loves to see you display it. Not that she'd ever admit that.)

The ferris wheel is the only thing you don't do a lot together. Xyla doesn't find it quite as fun as the games, but she can see the romance in it. When you're invited for a ride, you know you're going to hear something sweet.

(In the ferris wheel, no one else can overhear her. Xyla has a reputation to uphold!)

Now for the chess! She never expected you to be good at it. The first three times you won, she called it beginners luck. Then, she accused you of cheating. You swore you weren't, that you just used to play a lot before you bought the farm. She never believed you and is a sore loser. After winning, you'd be ignored for a few hours, only to be challenged again in a few days.

Darius

He likes the carnival, but sometimes he gets the sense he wins the games because he's the prince of Withergate. While he loves the royal treatment, that took the fun out of playing the games.

But of course, he will go with you and play any game you want, all the while pretending that it was his idea in the first place.

Darius can easily pay for whatever game you want to play, or even not pay at all because he is the prince. You rarely let him pay for you, which he admires. Most people seem to want something from him, but you don't even want him to spend 15 tickets on you. in fact, you often insist on paying for him, which is something else entirely.

He is very big on winning you something. Anything, really. He'll spend the tickets he won on something to eat for you, or better yet, a silly plushie. Whenever he visits your apartment, he's surprised to find every plushie he's ever won you safely inside.

Darius doesn't care much for the ferris wheel. It was fun, but not so much anymore after a few rides. Now, if you're scared of heights, it's a different story. If that's the case, he'll drag you in there frequently just because he likes you close.

He gets the sense that he's protecting you. If only you weren't so strong and capable, then he wouldn't have to drag you into the ferris wheel to feel like he's protecting you.

Now, if you're so great at chess you keep beating even Xyla, he is extremely proud of you. People often ask him why he's so close with 'just a farmer'. He knows you're much more than 'just a farmer', and you shouldn't have to prove it to anyone. But the more people see you as capable in different ways... well, it helps your reputation as much as his.

It was an exceptional beautiful day, even for Sun Haven. It was warm, hot even. The morning had been slow, your animals were looking for shade and even your crops were looking like they were sweating by twenty past nine. A little before noon, you decided it was also too hot for you to do any work. Besides, everyone deserves a break, even on a random, hot, Thursday.

Luckily Liam didn’t live far, just over the little hill at the edge of your farm. You picked up a few cool blueberry salads, not his favorite, but refreshing and easy, and strolled over to his home, keeping close to the treeline and out of the sun.

By then, Emma and Elizabeth would be learning with Jun. You loved having dinner with them, but it had been awhile since you and Liam got to spend some time alone together. You were busy with your farms and traveling a lot. Liam had his hands full with the shop and his sisters.

It didn’t matter too much, You ate dinner together most nights and talked while doing the dishes and laughed softly after the girls went to bed. You loved those moments, but still, you missed him.

It was strange, the way you missed him. You’d been on a date a while ago, had the best time, but he hadn’t mentioned it again, and you had found it difficult to find a free moment long enough to ask him out again. Though that wasn’t the whole reason, you were kind of scared for a ‘no’. Would a rejection ruin your friendship? Perhaps not, but it would put an end to whatever flirty situation you had going on now.

You entered the shop, which was even hotter than it was in the sun. You walked straight to the ovens, looking for Liam. Sure enough, he was baking bread. “Hi,” you said with a smile, and Liam turned around. His cheeks were flushed, hair sticking to his forehead. He looked absent-minded, but a smile appeared when he saw you.

“Y/n,” he said, putting down the bag of flour he was holding. “What are you doing here?”

In response, you held up the food you’d brought. “I think it’s time for a break.” He glanced towards the batter he was making, and you knew what was coming next. “Come on, Liam! It’s too hot, you have enough bread. Just let it rest a little longer and finish it when it isn’t so hot. You’ll faint.”

Perhaps he noticed it, too, or, a silly part of you hoped, he wanted to spend time with you, too. “All right, let me just finish this dough.”

“Great,” you grinned, glad to be getting out of the heat. “I’ll get you a big glass of water for when you’re done.”

With his permission, you let yourself in his place, setting the table. It was hot inside, too, and you opened the windows to let wind through. After a few minutes, he joined you, drinking two glasses of water before he took a bite. “This is really good, thank you, y/n. I didn’t realize I needed a break this badly.”

He looked better already, his face back to his normal color. “If you still need some relaxing,” you began, not really knowing what you were going to say until you said it. “I though we could go for a swim at the beach. Just for a bit, we’ll be back before Emma and Elizabeth.”

He hesitated again, a strange look on his face. You mistook it for doubt, and tried to convince him: “It’ll be good! We can get them some clams, I can make them clam chowder for tonight, Elizabeth loves that dish. I know you’re hot, too.”

You blushed, realizing how the last sentence sounded, but you didn’t want to take it back. “Uhm, okay,” he said. “Just for a bit.”

Of course! I love him!

- He’s very busy, but every free moment he has, he spends by your side. Even if you’re busy, whatever it is, he’ll just tag along. (He’ll even join you if you go fishing on the beach, even though sand is the most annoying to get out of his boots and he’ll feel it for days afterward.)

- Always asks about your day. Always. No matter what.

- If you tell him you plan to go far into the woods for a quest, he’ll try to make room to come with you. Not because he doesn’t think you can handle yourself, but because he knows what’s in those woods. It doesn’t help that you found yourself in the hospital with injuries a few times before.

- Speaking of, if you’re injured, he’ll rush towards you, no questions asked. He often can’t stay long, but he has to see that you’re alright. Or at the very least will be.

- If you’re injured he’ll get you brand new (and better) armor, and he’ll eat dinner with you. He’ll bring whatever they’re eating at the barracks. Often, that motivates you to cook him more dinners yourself.

Of course! Here you go!!!

He finds you one of the most interesting people he’s ever met. Maybe mostly because he’s spent so much time with the people of Nel’Vari that any new face is enough to capture his interest. If that ever truly was the case, he’d forgotten about it after the second time you spoke to him.

He loves listening to you. About you adventure, about Sun Haven or Withergate, and even about all the regular stuff you do during the day. Not a day goes by where he doesn’t ask you about your day (and your life).

Vaan likes Nel’Vari, but he does like to expand his horizons, too. Sooner, rather than later, he asks if he could come with you to Sun Haven.

When he does, don’t even think about getting work done. He’s up with the sun and demands to be shown around and introduced to whoever you met.

Of course he’s excited, but it’s also just to spent more time with you. You’re gone a lot, and while he wouldn’t really admit it, he misses you a lot. And he’s happy that you want to share this part of your life with him, especially since it’s so different from his.

So visits to Sun Haven become a regular occurrence, and while Vaan isn’t really helpful (in fact, he’s rather distracting), you cherish every moment you get to spent with him.

Vaan likes to spent time at your place or outside. He easily becomes bored and his own house is quite boring to him. Preferably, he’s taking you out on an adventure.

Darius

His favorite thing to do with you as quality time is sit as high on his castle as possible and talk about anything at all. He thinks you're the most understanding person he's ever met, and soon he finds himself telling you everything he's never thought about saying out loud.

In the beginning, that scared him a little. You weren't even from Withergate, and there he was, telling you every single thought and stuff about his family. You never spoke a word about it to someone else though, much less judge him for saying those things.

You honestly were his safe space. You were the first he told good and bad news to, the first he wanted to celebrate with or be comforted by. He never thought he'd be able to find someone like you, but there you were, and it was clear you intended to stay.

Jun

If there's one thing this man does without fail, is communicate. He'll make sure you know what you mean to him, that he's proud of you, that he loves you, etc. You can count on him to make you feel the most loved you ever have.

The two of you never fight, even if you're not as collected and communicative as Jun is. He has no problem in managing a calm conversation about something that bothers him, or if you're upset with him. Neither will ever go to sleep angry.

There's a lot he will do for you, but sticking his hands in the dirt is not one of them. Farmwork is simply not for him. On more calm days, when you begin your work, he'll make some breakfast and clean up after while you're working. After that, he's off to do his own thing. It's not that he isn't helpful, just in ways that seem less obvious for a farmer.

He loves picnics! During the day or at candlelight in the evening. Using food you grew and helping you pick some fruits while asking you all about foraging. He's heard it all before, but he'll never get tired of hearing you talk about it. It's his favorite kind of date. Donovan

Since he never really planned on staying in Withergate, he'd be more than happy to eventually follow you to Sun Haven or Nel'vari (if you could convince the elves to let him in). It started as visits, but slowly, you became a permanent in his life. He never thought he needed that, but he couldn't deny imagining life without you was becoming harder and harder.

Slowly, it became a topic the two of you explored. It started with visits that slowly became longer, until you were almost living together. You knew better than to name it that or ask it of him, though. You knew how he was, and why mess with something that worked for the time being?

When he slept over at your farm, he was surprisingly helpful. He knew a thing or two about foraging (even if not all the fruits in Sun Haven were familiar) and sure, he could manage some fishing. He didn't need to do it, but you did appreciate it.

Will offer to help you on the farm every day, even if it's early for him. He pretends its to show off how much stronger he is, but he actually just likes to help and spent time with you. He knows farming is important to you, and he wants to be a part of that.

A waking sunshine. Just wants your days to be a little easier, a little less heavy. He knows he can't help you with everything, but he takes 'moral support' to a whole other level. Everything you do or want to do is something he will support and be enthusiastic about. Asks if he can help, what your plans are exactly. Will always make you feel heard.

Elliot

Will let you touch his hair. In fact, he encourages it. Cuddles and playing with his hair? Yes please.

Will dedicate every book he writes to you. When pitching his story to you, he makes sure to let you know in which way you inspired it, because you always do.

Is the best with words and when you come home from a long day of work, he will have something sappy and sweet to say that you'll never grow tired of.

Busiest business woman! She always makes time for you. In the beginning, it was just because you were a new client, and since you went out of your way to chat with her, she had to be liked for you to buy her stuff. At least, that’s what she tells herself. It turned out you were actually interesting and interested in her life? She knows you’re not into business as much as she is, but appreciates the many questions you have for her. It makes her feel warm that someone cares enough to ask them. Your visits are easily the highlight of her day. 

Once you’ve been dating for a while, she’ll buy basically all of your produce. “To see for more money, of course,” she’ll say. Sure, she does sell most of the produce, she’s not one to make rash or stupid business decisions, but she likes the idea of helping you out in that way. When some of the harvest doesn’t get sold, she’ll make dinner with it and enjoys it a little more than were it made with something else. If you’re lucky, you’re invited to join her. 

Catherine

She’s always the sweetest and often asks how your farm is doing, offering advice when you tell some plants aren’t doing too well. When she can, she’ll offer to help you out a bit with planting or watering your crops. If you tell her you’re leaving for a few days, she’ll look after the farm until you come back, even if you don’t ask. 

Catherine loves that you love nature, too, and could gladly spent hours sitting outside with you. Usually, she’s the one to announce the end of spending time together because she knows how much work you have and doesn’t want to keep you from it too long. 

She gives you some of her enchanted ointments to help with sore muscles or suncream. If you’re up for it, she’ll also read your future through cards, crystal balls, or any other way you’d like. Even when it’s not super peachy, she’ll turn it positive in some way and set herself on some witchcraft for extra protection and luck in your favor.

Claude

Plays music for you when you come over after a long day. Either his newest work or something you like, just because you once said it relaxes you. If you’re too pumped up to just sit and enjoy, you might even convince him toteach you a chord or two. He pretends like he doesn’t like when that happens, but the pink on his cheeks and surprising patience suggest otherwise. 

If you’re dating, he will eat anything you give him, even if he doesn’t really like it. You went through all that trouble to bring him some food, just because you know he doesn’t have the best care schedule. He thinks the way you smile when you give it to him is just too perfect to disturb with crude honesty. However, he doesn’t have a great poker face, and you soon learn what he really enjoys.

Darius 

Will buy you anything you want. Actually, will just buy you anything. Caught you looking at something? He’s already buying it. If you say you don’t need it, that he shouldn’t, it will just be on your doorstep a few days later. 

He says that now you’re with him, you don’t have to work anymore, if that would be something you want. When you say you do want to work, he doesn’t really understand. But as long as you still have time for him, he doesn’t mind. He’ll even buy you so many seeds you never ave to get any yourself. 

To be honest, you got so many gifts you were worried he thought you only liked him because of his money and status. Darius had never shown to think - much less fear - that, but you made sure to let him know that wasn’t the case and you’d much rather spent time just with him. He’d never admit it, but that was strangely comforting. 

In private, he can be kind. Well, kinder than in public. He’s still a prince, and sometimes he’s still shocked that he genuinly chose the presence of a farmer over any royal princess. In his own way, he makes sure you know what you mean to him, even if it’s in an... unconventional way.
