The city still so new yet so old, the nymph tended to stick to the areas she knew but once in a while Kala wandered outside her knowledge. With the sun still making itâs way across the sky she doubted it should be a worry getting lost. She was currently buying time till she needed to head back home. It almost felt silly wandering a place with no real purpose⌠marriage? How did that give people a place here. Finally taking another sip of her smoothie, her gaze drifting from person to person as they walked by till she felt the bench move a bit.
Slowly glancing to the right she noticed the man. Unsure if it was appropriate to simply pick up a conversation. The weddings recently could have changed peoples out looks on things â attitudes towards the whole city.
the doubts anton had once first arriving about the weddings had died down as the time passed and he could avoid everything about them, including his betrothed. such doubts came flooding back after meeting ronan and witnessing the clusterfuck that was the first batch of weddings. you could say he was on edge, extremely close, dangling over it one might say. just staying cooped up in his apartment left him time to be alone with his thoughts and that was always risky. he often found himself walking around the city aimlessly to occupy his time and his mind, tonight was no different,
he felt his foot stick to the pavement for a moment, pulling it free he noticed the gum that had lodged itself onto the sole of his show. rolling his eyes anton found the nearest bench, even though it was occupied he plopped down. pulling out his keys to start pushing the gum off. â itâs just a myth that gum stays in your stomach for seven years so why canât people just swallow this shit and move on. â although his words were kind of loud, he was speaking mostly to himself.

Sheâd been zoning out on some spot on the counter, the restaurant surprisingly bustling today. The lunch hour was almost over but none the less four other people waited around her for their food while 3 were still waiting to place an order. Charlotte actually felt bad for the workers â three bags placed on the counter she shouted off numbers and people simply grabbed them. Like a sheep she did the same, as she walked slowly to the door she noticed the bag wasnât hers. Briefly spotting one of the people who grabbed one, the brunette ran up to him once outside. âHey sorry um â is this your order?â
to say his focus was lacking would be an understatement. for someone who had spent the past few years of his life consistently looking over his shoulder, anton was settling into the supposed safety of the city. zoning out while waiting for his order, his hands mindlessly drummed against his thigh. it wasnât until his number was called that he picked his head up to grab the bag off the counter, again not paying attention. honestly he just wanted to get home and away from other people - as usual. once outside he stopped in his tracks as the woman ran up to him. he looked down reading the ticket on his own bag before reading the one in the otherâs hand. â shit, yeah. this one yours ? or did we all get jumbled up, â his arm lifted up so she could get a look at the ticket attached to his bag.
âclever,â he drawled in response. ronan knew he wasnât making the best first impression, but he had figured anton wasnât over the moon about the situation anyways, and it was bound to be revealed at some point. ronan followed anton in as he was gestured to, shutting the door behind himself and clicking the lock, like it would have any real effect. he didnât live his life in paranoia, but he didnât want just anyone barging in on this first conversation with anton. âiâm sure whatever you have would be perfectly fine, but iâve eaten recently.â ronan flashed anton a grin, fangs not easily concealed when he smiled. âwith power comes enemies. surely twenty-seven isnât so young that you donât realize that yet?â he could hear antonâs heartbeat racing in his chest, even as he played it cool. âyou get a powerful husband along with his enemies. iâm sorry iâm such a burden to you.â
antonâs fingers clenched and unclenched mostly to release the tension in his body as soon as he heard the door and lock click behind ronan. he turned back to face the vampire moving to cross his arms over his chest as if to put as much space between the two of them â good then, sounds like you donât need anything, â words pushed through almost grated teeth. hearing more about enemies antonâs body stiffened slightly, that was all he needed, more enemies. he certainly hadnât been an angel all of his life, in fact, he had succumbed to his demon side. As foolish and careless as he had been, he was still young and could only assume whatever the other had acquired was worse. The flash of fangs made antonâs breath hitch in his throat slightly. â normally people wouldnât barge into their fiancĂŠâs home and brag about how unlikable they are as well as their inability to resolve conflict. weird strategy, â when in doubt, talk shit, right ? that had always come easiest to him.
âyou have plenty that i need.â ronan leveled the kid with his least impressed look, even going so far as to cross his arms over his chest. âyou can let me in the nice way, or i can let myself in. i know i have a preference, whatâs yours?â he rose his eyebrows. âronan cassidy. youâre anton kask. i donât like having my name attached to things i donât know about.â ronan took a step forward, slipping his foot in front of the door frame, just in case anton tried to close it, at least he could stop it. âiâm a vampire, and iâm very old. iâm sure you could put up a good fight, but we both know who would win this one.â ronan moved to lean his entire body against the doorframe, standing right in the threshold, which meant he was very close to anton. a subtle sniff of the air, and the vampire within him purred. well, his blood wasnât completely soiled at least. âi also have friends in low places, if that sells you on how urgent this conversation is. well, not so much friends. more like ⌠ex-friends.â
antonâs eyes narrowed as the man began to speak confusion riddling his features considering heâd never seen the otherâs face before. as soon as ronan uttered his name antonâs breath caught in his throat in realization. his hand moved to shut the door just as the man put his foot in the door frame. there was nothing he wanted more in this moment than to slam that door and lock himself inside his apartment until the end of time. vampire ? suddenly a bit of anxiety curled in the pit of his stomach. the vampire stepped closer to anton and his heart stopped just for a moment at their close proximity before he took a step back as cooly as he can not wanting such anxiety to show in his movements or features. â so i donât only get a husband, but a laundry list of enemies heâs acquired over the centuries ? phenomenal. if itâs so urgent then, â his hand gestured into the apartment for ronan to follow. â iâd offer you a drink, but iâm fresh out of o negative. â
it was so cliche. the corner, the sidewalk and her walking in deep thoughts, looking but not seeing where she is walking. all this begged for her to end up bumping into someone, no matter how embarrassed it was.  â  my apologies,  â  she said, making a small step back, magic curling around her protectively, buzzing right under her skin. morrigan looked up at the other, watching him with cold focus, her attention snapping immediately.  â  ââ i wasnât watching where i go,  â  the witch finished, the tone just a little colder, cleary already on the defence.
for someone who spent the past decade looking over his shoulder constantly, and always around every corner, you would think he would be paying more attention. maybe it was the false sense of security that this city gave him, or maybe he just didnât care anymore. so here he was, head in the clouds with his feet taking him wherever they wanted. the slight collision brought him back to reality, a scowl pulling onto his features out of instinct. â yeah whatever, â the words tumbling from him without a thought. â sorry, yeah i wasnât either, you alright ? â

â luna snorted, turning her attention to anton, â is it really so difficult to find someone who can translate correctly the words ? i have to do that for my books, i think it is much cheaper to find someone to translate a few words for the signs. â she wouldnât be opposed to doing it, although sometimes the english translations still escaped her.
â my guess is that they assume people wonât take the time to correct them. or at least if they do, it wonât happen often, â he added with a shrug. â or itâs because they are insufferably lazy and donât care at all. either way itâs frustrating. â anton himself never found the need to muster up such energy to correct anyone, almost ever. if they wanted to look foolish, it would be on them. â your books ? you a writer ? â
Rowan almost let his glance wander away, a dipshit move to show he wasnât feeling particularly friendly, but the vaguely familiar features made him stop, gaze sharpening. His eyes widened in disbelief as recognition dawned and then a slow smile bloomed. âYou survived, after all,â he said with some satisfaction, leaning back against the chair to take a better look at Anton. âPoorly, from what I recall, but showing some promise,â he chuckled with a half-shake of his head. âLetâs see if youâve gotten any better,â Rowan pushed a glass towards him and filled it to the brim.
â i think we have survived a lot worse than a nasty hangover, â boy was that an understatement. frankly a lot of antonâs survival, while he was around rowan, actually depended on the other man. so seeing him here now after so long, under different circumstances was, dare he say it ? nice. â yeah well i havenât had hundreds of years of practice, iâd say i fair pretty well. â anton moved to slide into the seat beside rowan, pulling the glass the other had poured to his lips and taking a sip. â i wouldnât say iâve gotten better, but i certainly havenât gotten worse. â
it hadnât taken him nearly as long as he had thought to track down his fiancĂŠ. of course, the kid wasnât really hiding, either. he just hadnât gone out of his way to find ronan. but ronan wasnât interested in his supposed fiancĂŠ coming out of the woodworks three years down the line, claiming he hadnât done his job as a husband, or worse, claiming half of his wealth. besides, those with their names attached to his deserved to know what they were getting into, and he didnât fancy the idea of having something so unknown. ronan had done his research, at least, as much as was available on anton. probably mortal, which meant this meeting was all the more urgent. seven hundred years is a long time to accumulate enemies. he found himself outside of the kidâs door, rapping his knuckles on the wood three times.
if anton could spend forever in his studio apartment, by himself, in this city, without being married, he would have absolutely done so. clearly that was a pipe dream, he wasnât foolish enough to believe it could happen. in all honesty he had only looked at his wedding packet once, reading the name and then shoving the information into one of his desk drawers. the less he knew, the less accountability he felt. out of sight out of mind, right ? living life on his own was what he was used to and what felt the most natural, anton wasnât ready for something different. the knock on his door brought nothing but irritation to antonâs features. pulling it open the manâs hand never left the knob, ready to shut it in a moments notice. â if youâre selling something ? i donât want it. if you need something, i donât have it. anything else ? â he questioned tilting his head slightly.
Her block was typically quiet, so far from the main area of the city she almost never went there. The brunette however needed a few things, and the plants were sold closer to home never lasted long no matter her touch to them. So in hand she carried the small trees on her hips, giving a glance around once in a while. A few residents out having some sort of party - the smell of food only pulling her empty stomach towards it. Slowing her steps she glanced at another who was just outside the house.
âDid someone get married?â She questioned, curious to the sound of laughter and lively atmosphere. Sure itâd been a decade since the war but so many people were pulled down by the prospects of marriage.
if anton could help it he wouldnât ever find himself walking down one of the busier streets. unfortunately he didnât live close to any sort of supermarket and he hadnât been grocery shopping in ages. living off of top ramen and frozen dinners was not ideal. once his feet hit the pavement, antonâs eyes continually scanned his surroundings out of instinct. as his gaze stopped upon a few people huddled together, seeming to be having some sort of gathering, he almost didnât heard the words of the other beside him. â not sure, but probably not. for some reason when i think wedding i think bigger. like more shouting and laughter or something. â

â luna looked at the menu for the small cafe, turning towards the barista, â i feel that it is important that i should tell you. you have called the chai latte a â tea tea latte â . it seems silly, no ? â she asked, taking her coffee when it was held out to her by the very disgruntled looking barista. in her defence, the menu was handwritten, so she assumed it could be edited easily enough. she shrugged, offering a thank you and turning to find a spot to sit. @bloodwedstuffâ
hearing the comment from his spot beside the pick up window, antonâs head all but whipped around to face it. was the woman talking to him ? of course not. was that going to stop him from throwing his two cents in ? of course not. â and their smallest size is considered a tall, seems like logic and command of languages doesnât seem to be their top priority, â shoulders shrugged to accompany his words.Â
In fact, most of the plans Ro came up with were simple â but it did not mean they werenât effective. As he was certain this one was, too. All he wanted was to get inordinately drunk.
And maybe break shit, but really that depended on whether he would be granted an excuse. Â
And if that was slow to show itself, he could always just fly the fuck away and set fire to some unsuspecting mountain peak somewhere.
Not that he thought vandalism would solve his problems, which was why he was less than enthusiastic about doing it within the city. Plus, it wouldnât be good for business.
ââIf you were planning on joining me you better know how to hold your liquor,â his gaze flicked upwards as he caught movement out of the corner of his eye, a joyless smirk twisting the corner of his lips. Â
after deciding that nomadic lifestyle wasnât viable anymore and all but stumbling within the walls of rome and all that entailed, anton was starting to feel the pressure beginning to suffocate him. refusing to loosen his grip on the balance heâd created over the past view years, he needed to do something, anything, to blow off some steam. through the threshold he walked, pushing away the memories that flooded is brain as the scent of liquor filled his nostrils, eyes scanning the bar. he hesitated in his spot after recognizing a voice and a face that sat before him. â well i wonder if you can remember how well - or not well, i can handle my liquor, â a chuckle dripping from his lips as he slid into the seat next to the familiar figure.
- bill skarsgard, cis male, pansexual, he/him - rome welcomes anton kask, a cambion. they are twenty-seven years old and have been in the city for two months. they are known to be observant + incautious, which makes sense because theyâre irritated about the marriages. i heard theyâre betrothed to ronan cassidy - a vampire. @bloodwedstuffâ
hello everyone ! iâm k and iâm super excited to be part of this group and i would love love LOVE to plot with anyone and everyone so please feel free to slide in my IMs or smash that heart button and iâll come to you :) here is a lil bit about anton ! ( also this is the cambion lore iâm using bc i liked it the best xcnvbxcnv )
lil stats !
name: anton nils kask. age: twenty-seven. species: cambion. hometown: malmo, sweden. abilities: invulnerability - more durable & resilient, regeneration - quicker healing, energy drain - can steal life force through physical touch ( he has basically mastered this ability unless heâs frightened ) weaknesses: devilâs trap - a sigil that can be drawn on walls, ceilings, etc, to essentially trap the demon/cambion within the sigil, unholy aversion - cannot step foot into churches, holy water burns the skin & regeneration does not effect this injury ( burn from holy water would be the same as a burn from fire for a human ), holy fire burns NEVER heal, permanent damage afflicted. distinguishing features: a holy fire torch burn on the left side of his ribcage birth order: eldest sibling ( human half siblings on his motherâs side )
character bio ( violence tw, addiction tw ) !
confliction. that word could describe antonâs entire existence. blood sullied at birth with a demon for a father and a human as a mother. demon: evil. human: normal. of course at birth he did not have an affinity for evil, no more than any other regular human ( though one could argue they themselves have a predisposition, compared to angels of course ), but just the knowlege of his fatherâs species was enough to leave him spiraling to find his direction. it certainly didnât help that growing up around humans, you could say his abilities ( uncontrolled ) could be construed as evil, demonic even. the struggle of good and evil was instilled inside him so young, and stuck.
his mother did the best she could to keep anton from his father, hoping that it would steer him away from such a path. though in the shadow of the night, what seemed like dreams, he would visit and tempt anton. as the war between the supernaturals and the humans anton figured it would save his human family if he simply disappeared into the night. of course he wasnât going to fight and honestly, he planned to lay as low as he could seeing as he could blend in as a human or a supernatural. it wasnât until he was twenty-one and in some bar, masquerading as a human when a bar fight broke out. getting caught in the middle he was slashed with a broken beer bottle and the wound closed quickly before everyoneâs eyes. within a religious little town and the battles waging on, the bartender kept holy water on hand and holy fire on deck.
holy water splashed in his face, the burn appeared and confirmed even further, everyoneâs fears. the bartender swiped his torch of holy fire and swung it in antonâs direction. it collided with his side and that was it. the burn sting more intensely than anything heâd ever felt. instincts kicked in and he grabbed the man, energy draining ability activated. the power he felt in that moment was absolutely addicting. once maneuvering out of that sticky situation by draining enough energy our of anyone to escape, he felt a high that he couldnât even explain.Â
as a nomad now, teetering on the edge of good and evil, anton roamed from location to location draining people here and there as he craved the feeling. he could never completely drain anyone, the voice of his mother in the back of his head reminding him he WAS better than his father. then BAM ! after being on his own for so long and managing to avoid his father, the demon tracked him down. essentially strong arming the morally weak anton, the pair of them went on a terrorizing spree. going from town to town, city to city, wrecking havoc amongst seemingly peacefully places.Â
it had been about three years of this and anton felt himself falling deeper and deeper into the mess of the evil that he was always worried heâd become. his father managed to drag him back to malmo to go and visit his mother. drugged up on the energy he stole from anyone he could get his hands on, anton didnât even think of it. the sobering moment for him was seeing his father threaten his mother and other siblings, able to shake himself free from whatever little control his father had over him, anton was able to fight off the demon and help his family escape.
leaving his family once more after restoring the good inside him, he became a nomad again. keeping away from everyone he could unless necessary, praying ( ironic huh? ) he wouldnât slip again. alas he was able to, of course without temptation. every day was a struggle within himself to keep a balance. as the war ended he had lost track of his family and was disconnected from the times really, he wandered into rome without knowing about the marriages and then was SLAMMED with them once entering the city. his irritation is actually just a manifestation of fear, scared that being connected to another person leaves him vulnerable to, a) slipping again, b) his father finding him and screwing with whoever he attaches to, or c) just regular old attachment issues !
wanted connections !
victims ( ? ) - someone he stumbled upon with his father and kinda fucked with
witnesses- a human in that bar maybe ?Â
an unlikely friend - heâs not very gregarious, kinda grumpy, but has a soft side deep deep down ( EXTREMELY ) deep down.Â
hook ups / one night stands - this man cannot even commit to wearing the same outfit for a whole day let alone to a person
what could have been - maybe someone who started out as a hook up(s) he actually began feeling some kind of connection to them and he stuck around in one spot longer than normal, but then he dipped when it got too real
LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANNA THROW AT ME :)Â
