OUR STORY IS ABOUT A TOWN. A small town, and the people who live in that town. From a distance, it presents itself like so many small towns all over the world. Safe. Decent. Innocent. Get closer, though, and you start seeing the shadows underneath.
The name of our town is Riverdale. By the end of summer, it was just another small town, recovering from the shock of the disappearance of football star, golden boy, and hometown hero Jason Blossom. As the space between that fourth of July weekend and the present grew further apart, any hope at recovering a body was lost. By the start of the school year, a community torn was taking the first steps toward healing.
And then the bodies washed up.
A gunshot wound to the head. A repeat stabbing in the back. A bloated, bruised, months-old corpse. A decapitation. Blood in the water. Last call received: UNKNOWN.
Never mind that the town misfit was outed, never mind that a mysterious stranger had rolled into town weeks prior. Jason Blossom was dead. Tyler O’Neill was dead. Nina Patterson was dead.
No. Not dead. MURDERED. Savagely, in cold blood.

BASIC RULES:
1. Anyone can join this verse. While it is based in Riverdale and incorporates characters / the plot of MTV’s Scream, characters from other fandoms and original characters are also welcome.
2. In verse time =/= IRL time. A week passing in real life is not the same as a week passing in the group verse. We all have a life outside of rp, we all have stuff to do. It’d be unfair to put that pressure on anyone. The pacing of events and activities will be pretty chill.
3. No duplicate muses or face claims, unless an agreement is reached between muns for a twin plot.
4. While events and plots will be inspired by both Riverdale and Scream, the adherence to canon for both shows is not necessary. If you want to take your character in another direction, please do!
5. After your application has been accepted, you may immediately begin posting in the tag, v: shadows underneath. You’ll be @’ed in a post when your app is accepted.
6. Be respectful to each other. We’re here for IC drama. OOC, not so much.
7. Be patient. While there are two mods running this, we have our own lives outside of RP and won’t be around 24/7.
8. Send any questions you want answered to the inbox. If you need the clarification or are curious, chances are other people are, too!
9. Please understand that this verse will have triggering material. Anything on the main blog will be tagged accordingly, but if you can’t handle gorier topics, this might not be the best place for you. Your mental health comes first.
