Happy Valentine's day Satosugu lovers!
In honor of valentines day, here is a little sneak peek at the satosugu fic I have been working on to publish on ao3!
Where Satoru Gojo fought relentlessly with the higher ups not to execute Suguru Geto. Instead, he convinced them to allow Geto to return to Tokyo Jujutsu high, as a Sensei. Gojo convinced them that Geto would be the best possible person to train Yuji Itadori. To teach him how to control his power, and the curse living inside of him, because of course, Suguru Geto knew about that all too well.
Of course, Gojo didn't consider how hard it would be to work professionally alongside his first love, his one and only best friend. Was Suguru even that same man he had learned to love all those years ago?
After all, you'll never meet the same person twice. Not even in the same person.

Suguru
Suguru had insomnia. There was no way around it. Ever since he was a teenager he had sleepless nights, awake for no reason in particular. Or, nights full of sleep that wasnβt restful and restorative in the slightest. So now, he lay awake in his new room at a school he never thought heβd return to. Though, it makes sense that Satoru would be the reason for his return.
The rain was so soothing. He could hear the pattering of every drop against his window. The way it dripped down off the roof and onto the concrete outside. Every gentle swish of the wind brushing the tree branches against the wall. He could hear everything. It was one of the things he used to love about Jujutsu High. It was in the very center of nature. Even if it was an effort of concealment, it was beautiful nonetheless.
Suguruβs thoughts were interrupted when he heard a knock on his door. βWho was bothering him at this time of night, and in this kind of weather? If itβs one of those students, Iβm making them do extra combat training,β he thought to himself as he begrudgingly pulled himself out of bed, massaging the back of his eyelids with his thumb and forefinger.Β
He opened the door, met with the cool damp breeze and the brightest blue eyes. Satoru was standing in front of his doorway, but there was something strange. βSatoru, youβre soaking wet.β Suguru said, more of a question than a statement.
When Satoru said nothing, only blinking before looking down to the wet ground at his feet, Suguru tilted his head slightly. He remembered meeting up with Satoru in the rain when they were teenagers. Heβd always brought an umbrella, but for Suguru, not for himself. He reveled in the fact that his limitless technique allowed him to stay completely dry from the rain. And yet now, he was standing here, drenched.Β
Suguru brought his hand up, using his thumb and the edge of his pointer finger to gently tilt Satoruβs head, forcing their eyes to meet. Suguru could see the faint dark circles under Satoruβs eyes, he knew that feeling all too well. Satoru was exhausted. He had been sent out on countless missions because he was the strongest. He was the one everyone relied on, for everything. The only person who never relied on him was Suguru, because he knew exactly how that felt.Β
When Satoru finally looked at Suguru, he could see the exhaustion, but he could see it begin melting away. Satoru opened his mouth, only to shut it right after, pressing his lips together in a tight line. Suguru only nodded, understanding that now wasnβt the time for words. Suguru stepped aside and ushered Satoru out of the rain.
Without a word, Suguru pulled out some dry clothes for Satoru to wear, and eased him into the bathroom. Satoru cleaned up while Suguru sat on his bed, watching him move around his room. Suguru felt like he was being stabbed with deja-vu, nostalgia, sentiment, anything that would transport him back to his teenage years. All the years spent, with nights exactly like these. But everything was a lot less sad then, because nothing was ever so serious.Β
With a sigh, Satoru walked over to the bed and looked at Suguru. His eyes flickered for a moment before whatever he was contemplating was lost. He crawled onto the bed, moving to lay on his side and rested his head right in Suguruβs lap. Suguru froze for a moment, unsure of what to do.
But he didnβt have to think long. The memories of Satoru laying in his bed, whether it was while they played digimon, because there was so much to talk about and so little time, or just because one of them couldnβt sleep. Satoru always found his way to Suguru. So, instinctively, Suguru moved his hand to carefully tease his fingers through Satoruβs white strands of hair. His touch was light, tentative.Β
Suguru let out a shaky breath, but he felt Satoruβs body relax. He hadnβt noticed he was so tense. This allowed Suguru to relax, just as much as his rapidly beating heart would let him. He rested his head back against the wall, and closed his eyes as he let his hand re-learn the familiar sensation that was Satoruβs hair. He even brought his other hand up without thought, lightly stretching at Satoruβs ear the way he had always liked.Β
After a long time of silence, Satoru suddenly spoke, his voice no higher than a whisper. Something Suguru would have missed if he wasnβt so aware of everything going on in his room right then. βIβm so tired, Suguru. Iβm tired of having to be the strongest all the time.β he whispered, like if it were voiced any louder whatever God had handmade Satoru would strike him down for uttering such words.Β
Suguru felt a familiar pain in his chest. He only ever wanted to care for Satoru, to help him live somewhat of a normal life. βCouldnβt he understand? Couldnβt he understand that the whole reason he had begun hating non-sorcerers was because Suguru wanted to create a world where Satoru could be normal? Where he didnβt have to be the strongest?β
These thoughts circled and echoed throughout every corner of Suguruβs mind. But instead, he kept his eyes closed even though he could feel Satoruβs eyes boring into his skin, and he whispered, βItβs alright, Satoru. You donβt have to be strong here.β
