tries to connect with an artist i like by studying their style and picking it apart and refining it into elements i understand how to use so i can produce a work in the genre they move in to open a dialogue with them but they see my work as a perfection of theirs and an execution on what they never could and so so far above them because their art always came from a subconscious drive rather than a conscious commitment to form and they get intimidated and upset and block me

[...] but they see my work as an aberration of theirs and a failure mode of their art's communicative ability and a mutation into garbage noise because my crude surface-tier rearrangement of their deeply personal symbology could never hope to express the interiority they embed in all their art and they get frustrated and upset and block me

[...] but they see my work as completely alien and irrelevant to the genres they move in and a nonstarter in terms of dialogue because my attempts to engage with their work have been so completely overwritten by my own biases that they no longer recognize my result as in conversation with their own and they get perplexed and upset and block me

[...] but they see my work for exactly what it is, hopeless mimicry seeking a chance at human connection, a cry for help wearing their face, because ultimately the elements of their art are acompositional and holistic and my attempts to say something interesting after breaking them into shards are as transparent as a child trying to glue porcelain back together. and they see me, and they see the truth of who i am, what i am, the ways in which i move through the world, my undiluted longing for another pair of eyes upon my own. and they sigh and block me.
