The Wind's of Change

“ You know… ”  Peter sighed, rubbing his forehead without any feigning hint of patience. “ If you ain’t gunna put the harness on this is all kind of pointless… ”

"Listen uhhh-" Randall craned, trying to find a name tag for the exactly four second it took him to lose interest. He flapped the harness I'm his hands once, vehemently. "I'd love to put this fucker on but I'm not entirely sure 90% of a 5 month old chihuahuas ass would fit in here. People wear these? With their bodies?"

He fumbled to get the worn, dented camera out of his bag, trying to move both carefully and quickly. He hadn’t been able to help but notice the flash of red against the white landscape, and had been quick to pick up on the cardinal’s presence. Now if only he could get a picture of it. He removed the lens cap carefully, wincing at the click, then raised the viewfinder to his eye, trying to zero in on the subject. He heard a soft crunch behind him and froze, putting a hand out.  «  Wait. Please. Don’t scare him off.  »  His voice was soft, hushed and cushioned by the cold blanket lying over the ground.

Randall froze, the pack of smokes he'd been pulling out of pocket stuck, suspended somewhere half between freedom and its crumpled captivity, "Shit, who- what" there was an edge of panic to him. Apprehension of whatever fucked up thing could be lurking in the woods that required stealth. But his attention was caught by the flash of red and the camera in the man's hands.
