By the time she had caught up with him again, it was too late it seemed. She could only watch in horror as the events unfolded before her just like they had when she was younger and discovered her parents murdered in their own manor.

Debra looked up at the knock and almost immediately did a double take. She tried to sit up a bit straighter and cleared her throat. “I…hi. I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting to see you here.”

Nodding, Jason pulled up a chair but still gave Debra some room - not sitting directly next to her bed. “I’ll go see her. I might get something thrown at me but I’ll go. I should probably start trying to mend my relationship with her anyway.”
Looking around, he fidgeted slightly in his seat before he spoke again. “I had to come ‘cause of Becs, you know. If I’d lost both of you … I don’t …” he shook his head and cleared his throat. “I’m glad you’re alive. I really am.”
“It might be kind of selfish but…I am too. This…waking up in the hospital, I hadn’t felt that horrible since Russia. It just reminded me that life is short. I’m not saying that I forgive you, not by a long shot. I’ll never forgive you, and things can never go back to the way they were, but despite everything, you’re still important to me, Jason. You always will be.”
Nodding, he frowned as he processed her words and the lack of forgiveness. Not that he ever expected it - it was simply hard to know he could never get that from her. “I know. I don’t expect that. I know I don’t deserve it. It’s not what I came here for but I am sorry ... I can never make up for that but I won’t let that ever happen again. I guess it’s all I can do. You’re important to me too.”
He wouldn’t tell her he still loved her but it was what he was thinking.

It is one born of a frustrated rage that isn’t really directed at Debra but rather whatever is going on in his mind that makes him think that these series of actions is right. That Debra is lying. She wants this. She has to want this. This moment doesn’t last for long however as he’s then pulling her over to the bed and throwing her down onto her front and then his weight is on top of her - pinning her hips to the firm mattress.

Grabbing her wrists, he holds them to the wall as his lips continue to trail hotly across her skin. One of his knees pushes between her legs as he ignores her words - ignores her pleas and instead focuses on what he thinks he needs. His alcohol addled brain had sent him into a primitive mode of thinking and nothing else mattered.
Her fist connects with his jaw and she can't help but feel satisfied at the crack she hears because of it. "You are a vile, miserable excuse of a human being, Jason Steele, and you're lucky I don't kill you right here right now."
Jason never saw it coming. One minute he was smiling, albeit confused, as Debra approached him and the next he was on his behind and clutching his face as he gasped at the pain. Staring up at Debra as if she’d gone mad, he brought his hand away to check for blood before he spoke.

“Maybe that’s true, but Rebecca certainly knew what it was like and she told me, Jason! She told me what you did to her!”
“I never did anything she didn’t consent to. She never said no or to stop. I didn’t do anything wrong.” He’s trying to convince himself as much as Debra.
"So, I heard your partner died. Sorry, that's tough."
“Get the fuck out of here, now.”
“I think you’re forgetting our comparative ranks. So, I’ll repeat. Not gonna happen. I brought beer though.”
“Federal agents aren’t above arrest.” He leveled his gaze at Jason for a moment before rolling his eyes and crossing back away from the door. “Fine, you can come in, but if you’re expecting a heart to heart, don’t press your luck.”
“I was really only expecting to drink the beer. Wasn’t sure you’d even let me in. So, so far - it’s going well.”
