I took a peek at the Last of Us Reddit page, while it's a complete cesspool at the best of times, they are quick to pick up on news, and today we learn who's gonna play Lev and Yara.

And honestly? I'm not mad.

I know this fandom well.

I've been here since the beginning.

I know the odds of them finding a kid actor who is both asian and Tran, who is also willing and brave enough to endure the public scrutiny, outrage, harassment, and legal weaponization that WILL come from being an out trans person in the current political climate….

Was gonna be impossible.

Even the actor who plays Lev, Ian Alexander, who I follow on social media and who used to stream on Twitch regularly, has been largely keeping to himself and quiet since 2025…

As much as I would have wanted a trans person to play Lev… it's just not fucking safe… and I would not wish that level of scrutiny and DANGER on any kid…
