After Midnight
She wanted him to kiss her. That was apparent by not only Sue’s body language, but by her closeness. Cecil wasn’t going to deny that he wanted to kiss her back, but this couldn’t have been considered a legitimate date, which meant in his book, that he didn’t qualify to get a real kiss from the gorgeous redhead, even if only five years ago he might not have gave a damn.
With a huff, he squeezed her hands, allowing this tip of his nose to graze her cheekbone before leaving a chaste kiss on the apple. He wanted to see her again, although he found Sue to be a bit on the frustrating side.
"I’ll take you out so long as you don’t ruin any more of my puzzles." Cecil grunted, the both of them walking hand in hand back toward the country club. His smile was warm as he looked at Sue. There was a part of him that wondered what it would have been like to meet this woman just a few years prior, but he knew that back then, she may not have even given him the time of day. And all of this; all of the excitement and prospect of finding someone interesting and wonderful to spend time with would have been lost on a rather immature mechanic.
She settled for chastity, letting Cecil get away with a small kiss to her cheek... for now. Sue watched him out of the corner of her eye as they made their way back up to the country club. He was a confusing man at times, but then there were moments like tonight where everything made sense.
"I promise, I'll never give you a crossword answer... unless you ask for it." They were at her car before she was ready to be standing there. "You know... next time you can just ask me out." She playfully traced a pattern on his chest before leaning in to place a kiss on his cheek, lingering for far too long.
"So... I'll pick you up at 7 tomorrow?"
