That shirtâs very becoming on you. Of course, if I were on you Iâd be coming too.
"âŚ"Craig stared unseeing at his cell phoneâs bright lit screen, blinking slowly as he processed the words upon it. This couldnât possibly be the Tweek Tweak he knew. The one who got panic attacks even thinking about being a little suggestive, the one who couldnât flirt to save his life, the one who drowned in social interactions unless he was so filled with caffeine he could barely walk straight, let alone tap his fingers on the right buttons on his phone.âwho is this?" Craig typed back slowly before pressing send. His phone made the sound saying that the text had been successfully sent, and then Craig dropped it back onto his bedspread. If it was Tweek⌠well, what a weird thing to say. It couldnât be Tweek though, Craig was sure. Tweek wouldnât even let a drop of alcohol ever hit his tongue, let alone go to that party that whoever was throwing. Craig didnât even pay attention to the party invites anymore. Everyone knew he hated them, and would never go.
âI promise,â Craig responded, a small smile actually curving his lips. It felt like Tweek was the only reason he smiled lately. Though he did give amused expressions to his other friendsâmostly Clyde and Tokenâit was Tweek that made him really smile. âYou didnât do anything, and you donât have to worry. Nothing would make me ever leave you.â
Craig paused when Tweek asked about his nickname. It had just slipped out before Craig could second guess himself. He hadnât used it in ages. People always looked at them weird whenever Craig called Tweek âTweekers.â It was just⌠no one did it anymore. Clyde and Token used to, but it was only Craig who kept using it to refer to his best friend. Craig always got a warm feeling when he used the nickname on Tweek. âYeah,â he managed to say, looking anywhere but at Tweekâs face. He felt a rush of heat to his face and silently cursed him for flushing because of this. âI called you Tweekers,â he replied and his eyes came back to Tweekâs own, as he shrugged. It was as if he was silently saying, âSo what?â âOf course you can go with me,â Craig said. He didnât even pause to think about picking Tweek up. When he made the grabby hands, Craigâs heart clenched and his lungs froze. It was like the air had been stolen from him, and he attempted to keep acting normal. Reaching out, Craig slid his hands around Tweekâs body and hefted him into his arms, getting to his feet. Tweek weighed more than the last time he had lifted him, but Craig was also a bit stronger, so it wasnât anything that he couldnât handle. âYou should probably text your parents to let them know,â Craig began, then shook his hand. âNah, Iâll do it for you. You seem a little too out of it to text them something that wouldnât make your mom freak out.â He held Tweek closer to him, so that his head could easily lay itself on his shoulder as they walked. He managed to open the door to the room while still juggling Tweek in his arms, then headed towards the stairs to the first floor. Theyâd quickly get out of here and Craig would bundle Tweek up in his bed where he could sleep off all the alcohol. âMaybe this will teach you not to drink so much, huh Tweekers?â Craig said, attempting to make a joke. His arms tightened a bit reflexively around Tweek, thinking about what would have happened if Craig hadnât shown up. Tweek probably would have collapsed in that room and been there all night. Tweek was definitely influencing him if Craig was sitting here worrying about something that never happened, but⌠just thinking about what could have happened made Craigâs stomach knot up unpleasantly.
"Good, I'm glad I didn't mess anything up. I don't know what I'd do if you didn't want to be my friend anymore," Tweek confessed. It was true, he needed Craig in his life. If Token or Clyde decided they didn't want to be friends with him anymore, he'd be sad, but if he lost Craig forever he wouldn't even know who he was anymore. His life was so wrapped up with Craig's that it would be hard to put all the pieces back together if they decided to split up. "I like when you call me T-Tweekers. It reminds me of when we were little and things weren't complicated." Whether he was referring to the complications of Craig having a girlfriend or having become aware of his feelings for his best friend, Tweek wasn't sure. All he knew was that he was a lot happier before he had this suffocating weight on his chest that was the knowledge Craig would most likely never think of him in any other way besides a friend.
His heart leapt into his throat when Craig had actually picked him up. He didn't think that Craig would actually do it and the fact that he did melted his heart. Which in itself was bad because he needed to be getting over his best friend, not falling even more for him. It was just hard though. Craig was just so lovable that it was hard to resist him. Snuggling his head into the crook of Craig's neck, Tweek inhaled deeply and closed his eyes, sense being overwhelmed with the scent that was Craig and was so comforting to the anxious blonde. Just being in Craig's presence made him feel better already.
"I just wanted to forget," Tweek mumbled into Craig's neck, ashamed of how intoxicated he had let himself become. It was hard knowing he and Craig were so close, but yet he would never have Craig in the way he truly wanted. The more intoxicated he became, they less he thought about Craig and that was an opportunity Tweek didn't want to pass up. But before he knew it, he was absolutely smashed and incoherent. He'd have to find a better way to cope with the fact that Craig didn't reciprocate his feelings.
