KANG TAEJOON (SEO JAERIM) is a 25 year old GRADUATE STUDENT & BUSINESSMAN (IDENTITY THIEF), originally hailing from SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA (DAEGU, SOUTH KOREA). with a net worth of 8B₩ (4.5M₩), it’s no wonder they secured an apartment at noeul gardens! being so CHARISMATIC is probably what made them so notable, but if they aren’t careful, garden party will pick up on how CONNIVING they are. if that dreaded magazine ever finds out that THEY’VE STOLEN THE IDENTITY OF A TRUST FUND BABY WHO IS OUT OF THE COUNTRY, the gossip will write itself… 

BACKGROUND: 

broke kid (with a measly 4.5M₩ in savings, of which he hasn’t touched since he’s gotten access to kang taejoon’s trust fund) without any dreams or aspirations in life

kind of like your typical genius who is too smart for his own good, his intellect being the cause of his downfall

all he really wants is to have fun, very “here for a good time, not a long time” and what better way to achieve that than to be filthy rich?

getting a good job was not an option for a college dropout (college was too boring for him) so he resorted to "borrowing” the identity of someone who has everything he deems necessary for a fun life

kang taejoon was the perfect target—dumb spoilt brat wasting away at clubs and casinos overseas, too drunk to even realise his bank account had gotten compromised

definitely helps that the real taejoon is currently studying in the US for the past couple of years, which explains why people don’t really know him (though it’s likely his family isn’t too proud of him and would rather he not appear in public too) 

he doesn’t know taejoon personally, he was just sitting at the table next to him at some bar in itaewon, where he heard him bragging about his wealth to a girl he was trying to take home so jaerim stole his phone and wallet (easy, considering how he was practically staring down the girl’s shirt) and gained access to everything that dumbass owns (also did his fair share of research after, made easier with access to his phone)

it has been a couple of months since jaerim started living as taejoon, which was around the time he moved into noeul gardens

like taejoon, he claims to be a graduate student in business analytics, interested in starting up his own business, of which he is seeking investments for  

currently in talks with some investors about some new age club-cum-casino type of establishment (inspiration taken from the og kang taejoon himself lol) and if he pulls it off, he could very well triple in net worth or land himself in jail and have his own tinder swindler type of documentary—go big or go home, yeah?

PERSONALITY:

seo jaerim likes to think that he’s the smarter, funnier (and better looking) version of kang taejoon 

the real taejoon is much like a wastrel fratboy who only got this far in life because his grandfather left him a hefty trust fund

he’s convinced he’s making better use of taejoon’s money than taejoon ever will, which would relieve his guilt, if he even had any to begin with (unfortunately, he feels no remorse over what he’s doing) 

can be a bit of a narcissist; he’s pretty vain and highly aware of how intelligent he is, doesn’t help that he thinks he’s better than the real taejoon lol

every move he makes is careful and calculated, though he portrays a very relaxed, almost even nonchalant attitude on the outside

enjoys flirting and playing with people’s feelings, even better if he can tell they’re falling for him 

sociable but private, hardly reveals anything personal about himself (for obvious reasons, that and he does not open up to people easily); is great fun at parties though

he’s living very hedonistically as taejoon, has absolutely no restrain over how he spends his money; eating, drinking and dressing in only the finest (though there are days you would catch him ordering in fast food or cheap delivery when he gets tired of rich people food)

basically, he makes the perfect kang taejoon, the kang taejoon the kang family would’ve wanted him to be—smart, eloquent, and an outstanding bachelor, except none of this is real

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

someone that knew the real taejoon before, maybe they were childhood friends of some sort, and notices a difference?

or someone that knew him as jaerim and finds him oddly familiar, though they can’t make out why

enemies to lovers or enemy with benefits, two people who absolutely do not get along but cannot ignore the sexual tension between them

a potential investor for that business idea he has aka a potential scam victim… calling for naive muses lol

he knows your secret and has some sort of hold over you, probably blackmails you into doing whatever he wants

or both of you know each other’s secrets and made a deal to keep mum for mutual benefits

you’re famous and you have a fling with him, which is problematic since he shouldn’t be catching the eye of the paparazzi (secret fling gone wrong maybe?)
