The name "Subsidized Suicide" is based on the idea that so many industries harmful to the planet, the animals and human beings are fund through government subsidies.

Tobacco Subsidies in The United States totaled $1.3 billion from 1995-2011

Over 60% of all agricultural subsidies have supported meat and dairy production. Yet less than 1% benefits fruit and vegetable production.

The same government that is protecting its profits and investments by removing our right to free speak. In 2013, ten states have introduced AG-GAG bills: Arkansas, California, Indiana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, and Wyoming. AG-GAG bills make it Illegal to take video or photos of agricultural or industrial operations. Making any footage or photos taking to be dismissible evidence in court. Which will hurt Animal Welfare and Food Safety case but it will also hurt Workers Rights and cases against organisations causing high levels of Environmental damage.

If you live in a state trying to pass an AG-GAG bill, write your senators and make your voice heard. Also when the time comes make sure you vote in your state and local elections so you can get someone representing you that actually represents you.

A GOVERNMENT THAT DOES NOT TRUST ITS PEOPLE IS A GOVERNMENT THAT CAN NOT BE TRUST BY ITS PEOPLE.

The Beginning

This blog is an evolved idea from a zine that I have been working on from sometime now. Yet through moving, procrastinating/being slightly busy and well to be honest leaving my unfinished master copy on the other side of the country I decided to change the format up. Subsidized Suicide will be all about The Vegan Straight Edge with interviews, news, reviews and general talk about animal liberation, human liberation, and earth liberation.
