The first part
Seeing Truthless Recluse...no, Pure Vanilla, stab his own Soul Jam was utterly shocking! And then he was wreathed in bright, brilliant light, enough that you had to shield your eyes...
When it faded...he was still faintly glowing, now clad in white and gold robes. There was a serene expression on his face...he was even smiling at Shadow Milk. Your master was furious, Black Sapphire and Candy Apple gaped in shock...
You, meanwhile...couldn't help but feel disappointed. He had been so interesting as Truthless Recluse, and seeing that it was just a facade...you couldn't help but sigh.
Not that you had a chance to dwell on that for long. Shadow Milk shrieked with anger, throwing spells at Pure Vanilla, and you and the others were forced to retreat before you ended up as collateral damage.

You all eventually found Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla in the aftermath of the fight. It was clear that Shadow Milk hadn't won...he was sagging against his staff, while Pure Vanilla stood untouched and smiling, still glowing.
Shadow Milk opened a portal behind him, and you all stood nearby, ready to retreat with him. "He he...he he he! I'll be seeing you soon, little gnats!" he cackled, turning to snarl at Pure Vanilla. "And you… You will live to regret your words. I'll make sure of it!"
He dove backward through the portal, followed by Black Sapphire and Candy Apple. You were ready to follow them, but suddenly, Pure Vanilla called out your name! You froze, glancing back at him.
"You...You don't have to keep following him," he said, stepping closer and holding his hand out to you. "You can come with us, if you want...!"
The offer...actually tempted you! You looked into his eyes...now so much clearer, and filled with a gentle, genuine concern. He wore a determined expression, and you...you saw that he was still an interesting Cookie. Not the boring one you'd assumed him to be before he (supposedly) embraced Deceit.
You felt flustered, feeling yourself begin to blush. But...you cleared your throat, trying not to look directly at him. "I...can't," you said. Even if you wanted not. "I'm loyal to Master Shadow Milk and my friends, not to you!"
He...frowned, looking disappointed. He'd really meant his offer, hadn't he? That made you feel...something. But you turned away (trying to hide your blush) and dove into the portal.

You all but ran into Shadow Milk, and he caught you in his arms. "There you are!" he said as the portal snapped shut. "You were taking an awfully long time to make your exit...what happened?"
"...Pure Vanilla had something to say," you said. You lied and added, "Not really worth talking about."
He growled, narrowing his eyes. "Of course he did! Of course...he just can't help but meddle in everything he can!"
He huffed, turning away...reaching down to take your hand. "Well. I suppose we have to focus on what our next debut will involve, now...considering we've now gone wildly off-script!" He began to float forward, tugging you along with him.
...you couldn't help but think about Pure Vanilla as you all walked. Especially the offer he had made to you. Just the memory made his heart flutter a little...as though he'd cared...
You caught Candy Apple's eye. She was looking back and forth between your face and the hand you hand linked with Shadow Milk. You'd definitely have to tell her about this later...though you might have to leave out how you felt if you didn't want that information getting back to Shadow Milk.
