all the games i like have candy in them

first off, thank you for asking, it's very fun to get to try and explain my thoughts behind what i make!!!

it's actually specifically intended to reference this frame of aranea and jake in dd ascend more casually specifically, but Circumstantial simultaneity and all that lol

i chose this partially because the flash features the song "i'm a member of the midnight crew" and i thought that the "rise with the moon, go to bed with the sun" would be very fun to work with for a piece centered on dess and kris, who are Moon And Sun Medias as my friend asterisk explains very well here. additionally, the dynamic between them, of harming someone or otherwise in some way forcing them to take actions in order to make them stronger, felt fitting with what we know of dess and kris's relationship, and how it is echoed in other parts of deltarune (see: weird route). additionally, i just thought that the knight being the one to walk much more dramatically (in this case, i referenced figure skating poses for it) while kris follows behind with their arms at their side would be a fun choice.

the panel also felt like a fitting choice because of them walking down a tree. ascent and descent are a whole other thing (rise with the moon/go to bed with the sun -> flight and falling as well, ftr). lost where the forest would grow, the egg man trees... roots :-)

i apologize for this being all over the place- i don't think i'm very good at explaining things coherently and my analysis tends to end up just be me vaguely gesturing at connected topics, which is part of why i enjoy getting to draw this sort of thing out instead of having to rely on writing. easier to make a coherent point placing images next to each other than it is words lol
