Master thesis adventures #17

I am half way into the primary sources by Columbus on his second American journey. Hopefully tomorrow I should be done with that and before moving onto his third journey I want to work on a couple of sources by Michele Da Cuneo. He was present during Colombus' second journey which is why I plan on working on his sources half way into my Columbus readings.

Week 64629293748????¿ of our original project. I'm starting to get so sick of it you've no idea 🥲 When I think about how much is still left to do I kind of want my professor to just say, "You know what, let's desert this thing forever." Genuinely, if it wasn't for the classes I have to attend, I'd be in the lab every single day just to push it forward. Two years of working on the same project with no closure in sight is just unreasonably taxing for me.

i cannot wait for it to turn cold. the leaves have started changing colours and i'm looking forward to sweater szn. meanwhile, reading about home, refusal and basic gender theory.

spent 2 days giving myself box braids and genuinely thought i wasn't making it to campus today ｡･(つд`｡)･｡

but i survived, got my matlab code sent to my advisor, wore a fit i felt pretty in, and somehow made it through the day !!

5.3.2026 - 1/100 days of productivity

Finally going to hop on the 100 days of productivity trend, I need so badly a rigid system keeping me accountable. My worst habit right now is setting (perhaps too ambitious) daily to-do lists and finishing nothing on them, so hopefully posting here every single day and seeing either my victories or failures will motivate me to be more productive.

I’m afraid it’s a classic case of senioritis - I know I’ll be out of school for a year after this semester’s done and my brain’s battling me to check out of the productive student mode. Really not ok considering there’s two whole months left 😭 normally this happens only around finals

I think it’ll be quite satisfying seeing the checked off lists on here so I really hope this is my saving grace. Alas, for today:

Hunt down and find green lasers among the undergrad labs (whoever’s hidden them from me count your days)

Make sure microcontroller code works with new lasers or tweak if needed ahead of meeting

i love a good library session but sometimes the state of the books stress me out. surely there’s some training or things to tell students before letting them checkout books that are falling apart?
