Hot Girl Summer ➡️ Hot Girl Semester
First day of classes! Today I had Visual Perception, Cultural Anthropology, and Psychopathology! I also started my readings for Community Psychology tomorrow.
It was great catching up with all of my school friends. I talked to a lot of people who were in my advanced stats class last year and it was awesome to hear about all the research and honours projects everyone is involved in and how happy everyone is for each other (except for the one guy who likes to brag). My friends are doing such cool things and I am so happy for them!!

Today is my first day of classes! I just got back from France yesterday and I’m ready to jump in to classes and work!
I’m also starting the 100 days of productivity challenge so hopefully I can remain active and motivated!
this picture isn’t from today but it was of me studying for my flight test, which I’m doing again also anyway.
[9/100 DOP]
hello!! took a couple days of break while i worked tirelessly on project after project; i swear architecture school is designed so that you never get a break. haven’t been photographing my work much for tumblr but after a few days away i feel rejuvenated and ready to be back! i also finally got my new laptop after the longest month of my life without one so i’m really really excited!!
here are some photos from today’s study sesh at my favorite coffeeshop! more calc as usual!
06.8.2019 - Friday
It’s been raining the whole day, but at least I managed to take a photo of the beautiful (double) rainbow I saw while walking to school today :3c

I (finally) passed biology 😭🎉 It was my fifth time taking it and I was scared but I did it !!!
some back to school tips
since i’m going back to school in september (my final year of high school!!!) here are some Tips™ that make my life a little easier!
SLEEP. I know, everyone says that. BUT. There’s nothing worse than going to school after less than 7 hours of sleep for me. I’m that person who will faint if they don’t get enough sleep so I treat it very seriously. Remember to sleep!
BE KIND. It’s easy to fall into indifference. Be kind to your classmates. Treat yourself well. Even little things will influence your mood and help the day pass quickly.
RESPECT SCHOOL EMPLOYEES. Teachers notice when someone is polite and doesn’t disturb them. Maintaining a good relationship with a teacher might help you a lot during the school year! It helped me get a better final grade in Physics. The teacher told me that my behavior in class influenced my grade (for the better!). The same goes for other people working at school. Those who clean the halls or make your lunch are extremely important - and they’re people, too. Saying hello to them isn’t that difficult.
ENJOY THE WEATHER. Back to school season also happens to be the nicest season of all (imo) - AUTUMN! Think of a way to enjoy the sun and all those little things autumn brings to our lives: pumpkins, colorful leaves, perfect coffee weather… Try studying outside or go on a walk, if you can. Visit a local library. Studying by a window also works well!
BE YOURSELF. Is it the most boring advice in the world? Some may say so. But, entering my final year of high school, I’m so glad I’ve listened. School is definitely the time to figure yourself out and try new things! But don’t change everything in yourself just to impress someone. You are a human being. You are not made for consumption.
EXIST OUTSIDE OF STUDYING. It’s something I had a problem with for quite a long time. I think it’s especially relevant in the studyblr community, where we post pretty pictures, talk about our progress and generally focus on our studies. And there’s nothing wrong with that! But make sure you have a hobby not connected to studying. It can be anything you want! It will help you find joy in life.
CREATE THINGS. You don’t have to be good at it. Do it for your own enjoyment, or for the therapeutic feeling. Journal, write poetry, doodle, arrange flowers… There are so many things you can do and the feeling of having created something is incredible. I made a weird mini flower vase shaped like a flower. Is it Art™? No, but I’m happy about it.
EAT. Your body is using a lot of energy for studying, absorbing knowledge, growing… Food is your body’s fuel. Without it, you will start having health problems. Make sure you’re nourished and hydrated!
and some little study tips too!
TRY STUDYING WITH OTHERS. Especially if you haven’t before. It may not be your cup of tea… but it might as well be!
USE YOUR KNOWLEDGE. “Well, Felix, how will that help me with studying?” I know. It sounds obvious. But it works! Try finding uses of what you’ve learned in your everyday life. For example, I use my literature knowledge when I talk about movies with my friends.
FIND WHAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU. Colorful, aesthetic notes? Amazing. Flashcards? Great. Typing up your notes in comic sans? Cool! If a study method works for you, use it.
IF YOU DON’T ENJOY IT, SURVIVE IT. It’s best for us to find something interesting in every class. But sometimes it just… doesn’t happen. If it’s an insufferable elective, you can drop it! No shame in that! But if it’s a class you have to take, do your best to survive it. Find a way to motivate yourself - maybe sit with a classmate who you like? Doodle things the teacher talks about? Play a game of how many times they say [chosen word]? Try not to hate the class and you’ll get through it!
USE THE REWARD SYSTEM SMARTLY. It’s really good to reward yourself for hard work. And it’s motivating! But don’t go overboard with it. Don’t say “I cannot watch this series until I get an A.” or “I won’t do a SPA day until I learn everything for the test.” You’re human. You deserve to relax. Self-care shouldn’t be conditional.
that would be it for now, everyone! i hope you’ll have (or are already having) a great school year! feel free to add any tips you have and enjoy your day! (and reminder to get a glass of water now!)

happy 4th everyone! nothing like studying at a coffee shop to get the holiday started. didn’t have any special planned for today. i found my little study session therapeutic today. i also started listening to cody ko & noel miller’s podcast on youtube. it’s quite interesting and i would definitely recommend it!
cody and noel make me cry laughing sometimes lmao they’re great!
my wall got repainted, which was the perfect excuse to redecorate it. might add more stuff soon, but i already love how it turned out.
finals start in less than a month so it’s full speed ahead from now on. already finished an assignment due in june this weekend (what’s happening?!) so i can fully focus on those dreaded finals.

MANDATORY REBLOG
This sounds like a lot, but it’s true. An estimated 100,000,000 sharks per year are killed, threatening many species with endangerment or extinction.
Scary predators are important to the ecosystem, too. Conservation’s not just about the panda bears.

Shut down so you can restart.
Clear off your bed and change your sheets if you need to. Change into comfortable pajamas. Shut down all your devices/plug them in to charge. Drink tea, or warm milk, or drink a glass of water, then do your night skincare routine if you have one. Brush your teeth. Put on deodorant. Go to the washroom. Put a glass of water by the bed. Go to bed sometime before 10 PM. Don’t look at any devices. Don’t get back up. Listen to music, or a calming podcast, if you’re having trouble falling asleep. Set an alarm for 10 AM.
Restart and open up a new tab.
Do some yoga or light physical exercise. Go for a walk. Go for a run if that’s what you feel like.
Replace the battery.
Eat breakfast. Try to get some protein; avoid sugars and simple carbs. Eggs, brown bread and coffee are a good start. For quick iced coffee, brew strong, dark, hot coffee and fill a cup completely with ice. Pour the hot coffee into the cup full of ice. Eat without reading or watching anything. Once you’re done, immediately wash all dishes and wipe down the countertops.
Clean the hardware.
Get up sometime before 10 AM or at 10 AM. Pick out a nice outfit, something that’s comfortable, clean and that you think looks good. Go to the washroom. Gather all your shower supplies, any soaps or anything. Get in the shower. Wash your body. Shave, if that’s your thing. Wash your hair. Condition. Turn the shower off. Moisturize. Get out of the shower and dry off. Dry your hair or towel it off. Do your skincare. Put on deodorant. Put on your clothes.
Empty the recycle bin.
Empty out your trash or recycling bin. Go through your pens, your pencils, stuff you have around your room, even your clothes. Throw anything out that you don’t have or don’t need or that doesn’t fit you.
Clear off your desktop.
Put your desk/work area in order. Put your pens in jars, your markers and pencils in other jars. Sort your papers. Clear any clutter away. Put anything that doesn’t belong on your desk away.
Uninstall programs you don’t need.
Sit down at your desk. Make a list of things you’ve been doing recently, habits you’ve picked up. Write down a rough approximating of the times you’ve been waking up and going to sleep. Write down the media you’ve been consuming. Take a guess at your hours of screen time per day. Circle everything you don’t want to keep doing. Write it down in a list. Empty out your school bag. Sort out whatever’s inside. Make a list of everything you’re gonna need. Check off things you have. Plan out how to get things you don’t.
Install updates.
Write down your ideal sleep schedule. Write down habits you want to get into. Write down recipes you want to try. Make a list of things you want to implement.
Defragment your disk.
No, really, defragment your disk. Literally. Delete all temp files. Digitally declutter your devices. Clear out your camera roll, your Google Drive, your literal desktop. Repeat all the steps above- but literally.
Close any open tabs.
Clean up any small, nagging tasks. Sweep the floor, feed the cat, wipe down the kitchen counter.
Plan your next weeks out.
