how to incorporate active recall in your note-taking!
most of the time, note-taking isn't the most effective study method. however, you can still take pretty notes and learn quickly! check out my blog to find out how :)

February is the border between winter and spring. Cute Desktop Wallpapers- February 2022
Congratulations on completing level 2021, and now, level 2022 awaits! Instead of the usual RPG-style adventurer levels I make, I wanted to envision the levels this year as a friendly exploration and farming game! 🍎 I hope this new year treats you with kindness.

Outline Method
So I decided to start a series on note-taking methods :) Let me know what note-taking methods you would like to see...
i hope these are useful!! :) -love pika☁️
Checklist for a study session
• A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧
• Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋
• Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone🎧
• a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.☕
• Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone , a few pens, paper or whatever you need.⌨️
•Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐈
✨Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me.
You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that's even better than listening to music while reading the book. ✨ Happy Studying!

We create magic!
There was a poor woman – as poor as it is possible to be in modern Britain. She did not feed herself to ensure that her daughter was fed. She always felt unable to believe that she would feel happy again - all the colours in her life fading. She always had the fear that something would happen to her only happiness - her daughter. The only way to distract her from the depressions was to write. She always had a fire in herself to become an author. She wrote the first chapter of a series for children, in more than 100 different ways. None of them satisfied her, but she kept writing. It took her 5 years to complete her first book of the series. She sent it to 12 publishing companies, but all of them rejected it with the same reason that her story is too complicated for kids to read. Later, a publishing house accepted her story, as the CEO’s daughter liked it very very much. After the first book got published, each of her next 6 books of the series broke the previous book’s sales record. Then, fame and success were on her side. Now she is known as the first billionaire author in the world and the creator of Harry Potter’s wizarding world.
“We do not need magic to change the world; we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.”
She created magic in her life and in ours too. Salute to J.K Rowling!

lazy study tips
1. use quizlet. quizlet is amazing because you can access your flashcards on your phone!! this way you can easily flip through them while waiting in line, watching tv, etc.
2. use the pomodoro technique. if you’re lazy like i am, sitting down for 6+ hours a day to study can be daunting. giving yourself multiple breaks throughout a study session will help to keep you going!
3. watch youtube videos. watching videos or listening to podcasts on the topic you’re studying could be a huge time saver and is a lot more interesting than flipping through a textbook. and you can easily do this in bed!! (i would not advise to do this instead of using a textbook all together just in case information is left out of the video)
4. try to build a steady study routine. block out a chunk of time in the middle of the day every day for studying. this way, you know that when the time is up, you have the rest of the day to relax!
5. get sleep. i’ve found that i’m at my laziest when i haven’t been sleeping much. avoid being sluggish throughout the day and get some rest! this will cut back on nap/rest time and increase productivity during the day.
6. consider the consequences of not studying. which will benefit you more in the long run- getting your work done now, or watching another episode?
7. reward yourself. give yourself a little treat (a piece of candy, etc.) after completing a set amount of work. this will keep you motivated to keep studying!
8. just start. the hardest part of studying is starting- force yourself to sit down and open up your notes.
as always, thanks for reading! x

As most people are working and studying from home right now, I wanted to share some concrete, implementable ways you can help yourself feel better. Though I believe productivity and quantity of work done (or lack thereof) doesn’t/shouldn’t translate into your self-worth and how you view yourself, when you get work done, you actually do feel better in your own body.
By the way, it’s the first time I’m formatting a tips/guide post like this, so I apologize that I couldn’t be more concise.
I’ve spoken to a licensed professional counsellor as well as to some professionals who have been working from home for a long time, and some of the advice above is from them. I’m also sharing from my own experience as someone who used to be very productive and an (ex-)overachiever, and still attach a lot of my self-worth to grades and other tangible accomplishments. I hope these slides can help you. In case it’s hard to read, I’ve included it (reworded) in text form if you’d like to read more.
