Keep The Productivity Flowing

These past days I spent mostly on my own, reading and drawing just for myself, snacking a lot and watching arthouse films :-)

After a jam packed weekend of fun with my parents visiting, Father’s Day and celebrating the beautiful union of our friends💍❤️, woke up early to the summer sun streaming in and excitement to tap out some words 💻. Only a few more days until my writer’s marathon begins and I’m prepping my brain with my world 💡🤔✍️🤗. #amwriting #TheMousaiSeries (at Brooklyn, New York)

had to give a presentation about shostakovich, debussy and ravel today and tomorrow i am writing my first exam this semester about literature of the middle ages.  so of course i am procrastinating by re-reading another book i need to know well for an exam next week. 

✨It took work, but what things worth having ever didn’t?✨ • Trying to keep myself motivated when the past few days have felt like punishment to push myself to sit and write. Do you get this way with projects? I’m SO EXCITED for this book, this world and characters. But it’s like I’ve hit that wall in a diet or exercise routine. This happens with every book I’ve written. I begin to see the end and I’m like, “whoa! Maybe we can take a break now?! For like, 5 weeks.” No, Jacqueline, you can’t! You can go for a walk, hop over to the store and get yourself a box of Valentine’s chocolates, have a few FaceTimes with friends, but you still gotta write this thing! Can you tell by me talking in third person that I might be spending too much time alone🤪? It’s fine. I’ll be fine. This was the distraction I needed for today. my reading list of the next few weeks. i‘ve been putting off reading because i was busy with uni stuff (as always…). i’m gonna start with the autobiography of malcom x and then we shall see what’s next. i really miss those times where i’d read a shit ton of books in a few days and now it takes me half a year to finish one book… can anyone relate?
