My CPA Study Journey

I took a big break with COVID -- as I’m sure many of us studying for the CPA did -- the uncertainty of when testing centers were going to open again made it really difficult for me to find the motivation to study.

I use Wiley CPA excel and really like it. There are videos and a study guide for each lesson and a flash card bank app for your phone. There is also a built in exam planner that will map out what your study schedule should be based on your test date. 

I have a lot of friends who used Becker and really liked it as well. 

I would say you can’t really go wrong with most of the reputable study guides. What you really want to look for are ones that have a lot of practice questions!

I really tried to prioritize learning the hardest things first (leases, pensions, government etc.) and saved the easier stuff for last. I also made a study schedule for myself for what specific lessons I was going to get through each day all the way up to the exam and left a week for review. 

Finally back at it. Took a LONG break after FAR but gearing back up again for REG.

It is so hard to study for this one because I find tax extremely boring, so staying focused is tough.

Struggling to focus today. Almost ordered an OG Juicy Couture velour tracksuit but came to my senses, Paris Hilton is crying about it somewhere. 

I’m freaking out about the amount of material I have left to get through. Should be studying instead of freaking out though. I have a cute outfit for studying tomorrow and I’m gonna hit my two fave coffee study spots. Gotta find the silver linings somewhere.
