hhhhhh my "Basic Rope Halter" has for some reason been flagged by Patreon as "18+ explicit content" and placed under review 🤦‍♀️I guess headshots of my pixel ponies were too spicy for whatever terrible moderation bot Patreon is running? I'm working on getting it fixed, but I may have to make it temporarily "Patreons-Only". It will still be available for free on SFS (all my content will always be free!) and I'll hopefully be publishing some new stuff soon!

A warning about high polycount custom content - for downloaders and creators

I don’t claim to be an expert on custom content, but I’ve been making CC for nearly 4 years now and I think I’ve learned a thing or two about how to spot custom content that might not be best for your computer/game. I only recently got a computer that can handle some of the CC out there, so I wanted to make a guide on how to spot CC that might not be right for you if you want fast loading times, minimal overheating, or your computer isn’t as powerful. This guide will mostly be about clothing, but I’m sure most of these things can be applied to other types of CC.

Tack with Numbers!

I'm in my Count Von Count era... four of my previous meshes now with number holders!

Details:

Each mesh has 3 number variations - 023, 101, and a blank swatch

D-ring bridle in 5 leather colours + silver/gold metal + numbers

Double bridle in black + silver/gold metal + numbers

English breastplate in 5 leather colours, one version with a number on the front and one with numbers on the side

Low-poly, all LODs

For adult-elder horses, requires Horse Ranch DLC

Sooooooo turns out I accidentally shaved everyone's horses with my new breastcollars... please re-download the non-haircut version from the updated post if you want your horse's forelock to stay put. You could have both versions in game if you wanted the option to be forced into baldness, but I'd recommend deleting the old versions 💀

English Breastplates

A set of two simple english breastplates/breastcollars, one with sheepskin and one without.

Details:

Two new meshes, all LODs

6 leather colours, each with gold or silver details and white or black sheepskin

Designed to fit EA's english saddle

Found under Accessories > Hats (can be used with leg wraps!)

For adult-elder horses

Requires Horse Ranch DLC

Issues:

...the bad news is that the weight painting isn't perfect. The breastplate clips into the horse/deforms weirdly in some poses, especially poses where the horses head is down low. The position of the breastplate crosses from the neck down to the shoulder and chest, and it's hard to make the mesh move nicely with all these parts on both sides 😭.

This is a good as I can get, but it looks okay with 90% of in game animations, and most English-style/jumping poses.

UPDATE 28/08:

Apologies for giving all the ponies haircuts - I've updated the mesh to NOT remove the forelock when equipped. Please re-download if you don't want bald horses 💀

I went to the ren faire last weekend and saw some cool bridles and thought they might bring inspiration to everyone.

oooh, pretty! I know lots of people are keen for a rope halter haha, but some more out there bridles might be fun too. I'll add them to the list!

Known Issues:

There's only one set of reins in game, and the attach to the side of the nose. Use an invisible rein mod to take good pictures!

Hi! Love love your horse cc! Do you plan on making any blankets for them?? It is winter in my game and it kills me to see them in the cold. I’m shocked that it was included in base game as they are a necessity!

Thank you so much! 💕 I've got one in the works, but I can't promise when it'll be out... however, I've seen a few WIPs from other CC creators who are also working on blankets so there should be some (maybe mine, maybe not) sooner rather than later
