Silenia Dream

A young Auri girl dashes to keep up with her mother in the Yanxian countryside. They're carrying baskets full of foraged goods from the mountains. The girl protests the work with a whine.

It's raining. In 1555, the Garlean Empire conquers the nation of Doma and seizes its surrounding settlements. The young woman from before shields her daughter from encroaching soldiers.

After her mother is taken away, the girl gives chase. In the ruins of another village, the soldier from before pinches a ring in his fingers, taunting the girl as she weakly reaches out for it.

An older woman gives an appraising eye in front of her okiya in the Sanjo Hanamachi. Two geiko are seen whispering to each other behind their hands as they watch the scene unfold. 3 confederate pirates from across the Ruby Sea have arrived at their doorstep with a little girl in tow.

The pirates kick at the girl's shins, demanding her to show gratitude. She falls into dogeza, and the proprietress takes an interest in her form.
