This transparent screen will fit any window up to 46 inches at a resolution of 1366 x 768. The thing is completely see-through, but what you’re viewing on the screen is completely private from those outside. It’s fully controlled by your touch, and reminds us of a scene right out of Minority Report or Mission: Impossible. (via Samsung’s Smart Window Reminds us of Minority Report)

Designed at MIT’s Media Lab, Boxie is an adorable cardboard robot that films you with its eyes. Alexander Reben, of the Responsive Environments group, explains that Boxie’s lack of complexity is its best asset. The little bot’s helplessness wins humans over, and they in turn help it shoot a documentary film. This video from MIT’s LabCast series by Paula Aguilera shows Boxie in action.

BB: Beside the site design and direction, almost all of our content is submitted by fans and readers of the site. That would probably make them the brains of the operation. I would go so far as to say our readers are a variety of other useful organs too – a compliment I don’t give out very often. I edit submissions for grammar, spelling, and brevity. I saw a few people bring up the death of blogging again today, so I’ll add this. According to Quantcast, the number of US Internet users hitting Tumblr is up 18% in the last four weeks. We passed LinkedIn today. The only other site in the top 25 that’s grown more than ~1.5% in that period is Wordpress.com, up 8%. Both of those exclude custom domains. If this is the death of blogging, I’ll take two please.
