Here’s a pull-tab card I made using My Favorite Things “Adorable Elephant” stamp set. The idea behind this card was to make it look like the balloon (die by Mama Elephant) was pulling the elephant into the air as you pulled on the tab.

I stated by die cutting the balloon and elephant. The hardest part was figuring out how to position the tab so that the sentiment would be seen after being pulled, but the elephant wouldn’t go past the edge of the balloon.

After several attempts I got it to work the way I wanted. Here’s a phone shot I took of whats going on behind the balloon:

Once that was squared away all the was left was to stamp and color the scene below the balloon (all colored with copics).

Made this adorable Winnie the Pooh coffee cozy for my cousin for her birthday.

I love these adorable yetis by Birdie Brown. With the sentiment "The Best is Yeti to Come" I thought they would be just perfect to try out a pop-up card on.

The sentiment and sketchy snowflakes (from Avery Elle's "Comfort and Joy") are heat embossed in white. I colored the trees with copics and added the snow with a white gel pen. I also stamped some yeti feet across the snow to lead you to the inside of the card.

I received a fuse tool for Christmas and have been having so much fun playing with it. I’ve found that it does take a bit of practice to get the hang of it. If you go too fast the acetate won’t fuse, but if you go too slow you’ll simply melt a hole in it.

The neat thing is you really can create shaker pockets in any shape. For these tags I used my Mama Elephant die to create the standard shaped ones and a coordinating die from My Favorite Things “Santa’s Elves” for the Christmas tree shaped one. If you just want a clear pocket you can use the die as a guide. If you want to make ones like I’ve made you have to die cut card-stock (and stamp/colour whatever you’d like on it) then place the die cut piece in between the acetate and run your fuse tool around the outside of the card-stock.

I added a small piece of card-stock to the back of each tag for the name of the recipient, so that it can be removed and the tag can easily be reused.

Shaker card’s are my absolute favorite type of card (aside from Hoops and Yoyo, cause those 2 are hilarious). Here’s a birthday shaker card I recently made.

First I inked the background with daubers, using Distress inks in peacock feathers and twisted citron and since I didn’t have a yellow distress ink, I used a pigment ink by American Crafts in Sunflower.

I wanted the background to have a marbled look so I brushed some water on, because Distress Inks react with water. I then die cut various circles of the background using Lawn Fawn dies. I covered the holes with leftover acetate from packaging (yay recycling!) and cut circles out of white craft foam to create the shaker space.

In the large circles I used the blue, green and yellow sequins from a Pretty Pink Posh mix and in the small circles I put blue, green, yellow, and white glitter (one color per circle). If I made this card again, I think I would add more sequins to the large circles.

I love the look inlaid die-cutting gives cards, so I decided to try it on some Christmas cards. The nice thing about inlaid die-cutting is that you end up with enough pieces to create two cards.

For this card I used my Lawn Fawn ‘small stitched circles’ die for the large circle and cut the word joy with a Stampin’ Up die. At this point I decided I was going to make the circles ornaments so before gluing anything down I had to cut the little bow at the top of the circle, using a die from little B.

After I glued all the pieces where they belonged I wanted to add the string that the ornament would be hanging on. Instead of using a simple line, I cut a small piece from this Poppystamps die and placed it on the top of the ornament.

If you’re a card maker you know that you can’t wait until December to start making your Christmas cards and you probably end up making holiday cards throughout the year.

After I made my “Happy Haunting” card I realized the Mama Elephant ‘No Peeking’ stamp set would be perfect to use in a similar window design.The window is made using Pretty Pink Posh’s ‘Stitched Duo 3′ die.

All three animals in the ‘No Peeking’ set face the same direction, so I had to utilize the reverse stamping technique in order to get two of them to peek out the other side of the window. If you don’t know what reverse stamping (a.k.a. mirror stamping) is you can search youtube for some great tutorial videos. Basically you carefully stamp the image on a piece of wax paper and then ‘stamp’ the wax paper onto your card-stock. I find that the image doesn’t come out as clear as I’d like, so I usually have to go over the lines with my micron 01 marker.

I wanted to make this a shaker card that looked like snow on the window ledge when the card is standing upright. So I used a thicker white ‘kid glitter’ to give the look of snow. I die cut the window from a sheet of craft foam so that the glitter would stay in each window pane. I think next time I won’t use zip dry to adhere it because as you can see it dragged some ‘strings’ of glitter that don’t move.

For the background I wanted a snowy sky look so I inked white card-stock with Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch and Memento Danube. I then sprinkled some white embossing powder over it while it was still wet (make sure to sprinkle it from high up, so as to not leave large clumps). Then took my heat tool from the back of the paper so that the powder wouldn’t get blown off.
