The Willoughby Tucker Tour on my thermal camera, made on 15-10-2025
Today, I had my assessment. I haven't received my grade yet, but I'll keep you updated.
Because of my operation at the beginning of this semester, I felt like I couldn't fully execute my ideas the way I wanted. I had hoped to work on a larger scale, and that was reflected in my assessment and the feedback from my teachers.
Still, I'm satisfied with what I was able to accomplish this semester. My main focus was photography, and I think I'll continue with the photography lab next semester. I'm also still debating whether I want to take a second lab.
I havenāt painted in a while ā itās been about two months now.
Iāve been struggling to let go of the somewhat established style I had developed in my painting. However, I recently had a conversation with my studio teacher about how I could break free from the boundaries Iāve set for myself. She encouraged me to simply paint what I want to paint and draw inspiration from what I see in my everyday life.
Thatās why I decided to paint these two pomegranates. I saw them at a farmerās market, and for me, they hold a feminist element. The pomegranate has long been associated with femininity, fertility, and strength, symbolizing both the complexity and resilience of women. Its rich, red interior and protective outer shell reflect the duality of vulnerability and power, which I find deeply inspiring.
