In a world where Steve and Bucky are out as a couple and pride month is rolling around, a big furniture brand approaches them about starring in their next commercial, knowing them to be widely popular fan faves. After a moment's consideration, the boys agree -- as long as they get to do it their way.
The ad is officially launched on June 1st.
An upbeat song plays just loudly enough to muffle what might be enthusiastic moans of pleasure.
The scene opens on a suggestive montage of sex happening just off-screen:
A bedframe knocking insistently into the wall, a pair of boxers draped haphazardly over the night lamp. The back of a sofa, shaking like it's in the middle of an earthquake, somebody's toes visibly curling on one end. Two hands joined on a kitchen counter, their fingers interlocked - one set of them made of sleek metal plates. Table legs scraping across the floor in small, rhythmic increments; the shield comes rolling into view, seemingly discarded with a grunt.
The sound of laughter carries over as the music slowly fades into a sated silence. The camera pans over to show Steve and Bucky, hair mussed, bare chests shiny with sweat, spent and happy and poured together at the foot of a bed. The mattress has tipped over and the sheets are a mess, but the bedframe? Perfectly intact. Tagline. "If two supersoldiers can't break it, no one can."
The ad goes viral in a matter of hours. The brand gets more business in the next month than it had in the last 5 years.
At home, the boys watch the commercial from their bed - the frame caved in down the middle, split in two almost perfect halves, and they haven't bothered untangling themselves from the impromptu trap yet.
"Maybe we should get one of those," Bucky suggests, gesturing at the ipad held up between them, where their faces glow in their fake post-coital bliss. "Looks sturdy."
Steve laughs into his shoulder, his upper lip slick with sweat. This right here, this bliss is real, and lasting, a lazy, pooling heat the color of a sunbeam, painted right onto his bones -- and it's damp and uncomfortable and full of long legs and wriggling toes digging into his calf, and it's the sweetest thing Bucky's held in his arms his whole life.
They don't get up for another hour at least.
