Big Walk player guide: puzzles, co-op, and first steps
Big Walk works best when a group treats each area as a shared puzzle rather than a race. A useful guide helps new players understand the rhythm of exploration without taking away the discovery.
Start by agreeing on a simple route and a communication habit. Mark unusual landmarks, keep track of objects that can be moved together, and test interactions from more than one angle. Many cooperative puzzles become clearer when one player watches the environment while another experiments.
Good co-op play is mostly about context: call out what changed, describe the shape or color of a clue, and confirm when a mechanism is ready before everyone moves on. If a puzzle stalls, reset the scene and revisit the last assumption instead of repeating the same action.
For the full Big Walk player guide, puzzles, co-op notes, and player reference, visit https://bigwalk.tips/
The aim is simple: make the first session smoother, preserve the joy of discovery, and give returning players a place to compare notes.
Slay the Spire 2 β Act 2 Boss Strategy Guide
Act 2 bosses in Slay the Spire 2 are the hardest fights in the game. Here's how to beat each one.
Book of Stabbing
The deadliest Act 2 boss. Gains +18 damage per turn. You MUST kill it within 3 turns or you'll die.
Strategy: Bring maximum burst damage. Don't bother blocking β go all-in on offense. Use potions like Attack Potion and Skill Potion.
Champ
Two-phase fight. Phase 1 is straightforward. Phase 2 he does 30+ damage per turn.
Strategy: Save your burst for Phase 2. Block cards are essential. Limit Break + Demon Form combo works well.
The Collector
Spawns minions every few turns. Needs AoE damage.
Strategy: Bring Immolate, Combust, or Dagger Spray. Kill minions first, then focus the boss.

Slay the Spire 2 β All Characters Explained
Slay the Spire 2 launches with three playable characters. Here's what makes each one unique.
Ironclad β The Strength Stacker
The classic brawler. Ironclad excels at single-target damage and HP recovery. Core mechanic: Strength scaling. Each point of Strength adds 1 damage to all attacks. With enough Strength, you can one-shot anything.
Best Cards: Demon Form, Reaper, Barricade Difficulty: Easy β great for beginners

Slay the Spire 2 β Beginner Tips That Actually Work
Just starting Slay the Spire 2? These beginner tips will save you dozens of failed runs.
Don't Spread Thin
Pick one archetype early and commit. Don't try to make a Strength deck AND a Poison deck in the same run.
Save Potions
Don't waste potions on hallway fights. Save them for elites and bosses.
Card Draw is King
Cards that draw more cards (like Battle Trance, Offering) are almost always worth picking.
Upgrade Smart
Upgrade your Strike and Defend first - they appear in your opening hand every fight.
Skip Hard Fights
If you're under 50% HP, don't fight the elite. Run away and recover.
Pick Energy Boss Relics
Coffee Dripper, Philosopher's Stone, and Pandora's Box win runs.
Use Rest Sites Wisely
Only rest if you're above 60% HP. Otherwise upgrade a card.
Path Through Elites
Elites give better relics than hallway fights. Path through elites in Act 2 specifically.
For full starter guides for every character, see https://sts2.gg/guides. The site has detailed walkthroughs for each act. Also check https://sts2.gg/builds for tier-ranked build guides.
Slay the Spire 2 β Cross-Character Card Tier List
Not all cards are created equal. Here's my updated cross-character card tier list for Slay the Spire 2 patch 0.97.
S-Tier (auto-pick):
Apotheosis β Upgrade all cards for 1 energy. Game-winning in long fights.
Ritual Dagger β Grow with each use. Stacks infinitely.
Battle Trance β Draw 3 cards, can't draw more for 1 turn.
Corruption β All skills cost 0, exhaust all skills each turn.
A-Tier (strong pickups):
Vault β +1 energy, +1 card, no more cards this turn.
Barricade/Blur β Permanent block retention or intangible for 1 turn.
Wraith Form β +2 Dexterity, +1 intangible per turn.
Reaper β Heal for all damage dealt.
B-Tier (situational):
Anger β 6 damage, cycle card.
Pommel Strike β 9 damage, draw 1.
Shrug It Off β 8 block, draw 1.
Offering β Lose 6 HP, draw 3, +1 energy.
D-Tier (usually skip):
Strike β 6 damage for 1 energy. Decent starter.
Defend β 5 block for 1 energy. Decent starter.
Clothesline β 12 damage for 2 energy. Worse than 2 Strikes.
For complete ranked card lists per character, see https://sts2.gg/card-tiers. Also check https://sts2.gg/cards for full card database and https://sts2.gg/builds for deck guides.
Slay the Spire 2 β Potion Strategy Guide
Potions in Slay the Spire 2 are consumable but game-changing. Knowing when to use vs. save is a key skill.
Common Rules:
Use attack potions on elite/boss fights, never hallway fights
Use block potions only when you're about to die
Save power/skill potions for the act boss
Don't be afraid to sell potions you don't need at shops
Best Common Potions:
Block Potion β +12 Block instantly
Attack Potion β +12 damage to one enemy
Skill Potion β Draw 2 cards immediately
Power Potion β Apply 1 random power for 2 turns
Best Rare Potions:
Bottled Lightning β Store a card, draw it turn 1
Cultist Potion β Summon a weak cultist
Fruit Juice β +5 Max HP permanently
Ancient Potion β +1 Energy on next turn
Character-Specific Tips:
Silent loves Shiv potions (apply 5 Shivs)
Ironclad benefits from Strength potions
Watcher wants Stance potions
For the full potion list with effects and best-use cases, see https://sts2.gg/potions. Also check https://sts2.gg/relics for relic synergy guides.
Slay the Spire 2 β Top 5 A20 Builds for Patch 0.97
After 50+ hours climbing A20 in Slay the Spire 2 patch 0.97, here are my top 5 builds for consistent clears.
Ironclad Reaper Burn
Stack burn cards (Immolate, Combust) with Reaper for sustain. New Reaper buff makes this viable again.
Silent Catalyst
Stack poison to 50+ with multiple Catalyst cards. The combo is unstoppable once you have a Catalyst + Burst + Deadly Poison opening.
Watcher Stance Dance
Calm β Wrath β Calm dance for double damage every turn. Mental Fortress gives 12+ block per stance change.
Ironclad Demon Form
The classic strength stack. +3 strength per turn scales infinitely. Combined with Limit Break, you can hit 30+ strength by mid Act 2 and one-shot everything.
Silent Shiv Accuracy
Accuracy + Blade Storm + Cloak and Dagger. Each Shiv becomes 10+ damage with the Wrist Blade relic. The fastest Act 1 clear in the game.
