Garland pauses. Not the reaction he was expecting. “Hm? Does he often get in trouble?” Beside him, he can hear Rick mutter something into his radio before walking away. “Run with dangerous people?” From the look of this Mariam, she’s just some girl. Books behind her on a desk. A student perhaps? No messed up clothes he can spot, and Mariam isn’t twitchy. Hiding something from him. She looks simply annoyed over a friend’s antics, interrupting her night. “I’m sad to report your friend has been killed. He was found in the park not far from here, and witnesses say you are the last person he was seen talking to. Or more, arguing with.”
"No, I don't. And if I get my way your name won't be on the list anymore either. Nobody else needs to fuckin' die." *She gives Boris one hell of a pointed stare.* "Men like him think women can't do the job. That where we belong is in the damn kitchen or worse, underneath them. But he's a coward. He reeks of it - he'd beg for his damn life if someone had a gun to his head."
Boris finishes another slice, an amused chuckle escaping him. "Generalising there, aren't you?" He glances at her. "Or have you been meeting up with that cop? Got to know him real good?" Doubtful but it's fun to poke at her. That cop seemed to be floundering for clues if he came back asking for vague hints Mariam might remember. That, or hoping to catch her in a lie. "You know, he might be thinking you killed Dunga. Hoped to make you slip up and say something stupid." Probably didn't expect there to be another man in her life. Now Siebald will be looking at Boris. Fucking annoying.
