ciaran was about to start his argument with her. the same one they had been having since she returned. the push and pull of the killick siblings. 'you let everyone believe i was dead' vs. 'you left us without so much as a warning'. the reoccurring fight was on the tip of his tongue when the piercing scream left his sister's lips. the sound actually hurt his ears in a very literal way. now that, that wasn't something he had heard from her before and it rendered him speechless as he found himself gawking as strife took off up the stairs. the confusion didn't leave his face as he watched her stop herself from making the same sound twice, legs cautiously following her direction. "that's definitely something we will need to be looking into." he referred to her outburst, if that was what one would call it. for now, though, he went back to the subject at hand. the morrigan. "how exactly do you plan to make a ghost eat crow?"
as strife peered down at her brother from the flight above, there was a haunting look in her bright eyes that made it clear; he may have been surprised by her outburst, but she wasn't. there were reasons strife avoided this war, unspoken as they may be, and there were reasons the dark lord wanted her beyond the exemplary skill of a prodigious witch. which is what made it less complicated to run than try to keep quiet. that was against the very nature of her. a nature that continued to baffle even her closest kin. "beak first." she hissed. strife pulled her wand from her boot and pointed it without hesitation at the specter. a bolt of deep purple blast forward. it was erratic, but keenly precise, and when it struck the morrigan, her reaction clearly indicated that it had hurt before the ancient woman vanished again. strife smirked. standing there in black feathers with cruel charms at her fingertips, she cut a dangerous, unhinged figure. an omen. "you want to curse me? I can be a curse!"
