So, why urban photography?
Well; why NOT urban photography?
Photography is in my family's blood, as it were. My grandad was a keen amateur photographer (he gave me his old Fuji film camera to play with when I was 5 or 6...) my Dad is a photographer, specialising in weddings, portrait and nature, and my brother is a military photographer.
When I first started dabbling with photography the only genre I knew of was nature and landscape so, during lockdown I got up at mega early o'clock and drove to the Shropshire hills to see the sun coming up. On the way there I looked in the rear view mirror and saw a glimpse of the sun coming up behind me. I parked the car up, and using my pixel 4 smartphone I lined it up along the centre road lines and got the photograph I wanted. It was the first time I properly framed the shot while giving it some thought. And so my life as a photographer was born....
